I have tried to take my Mom on a vacation every year. Last year we did not get to go due to financial reasons.
She recently had a health scare (but is fine!) and made me even more aware of how fortunate I am to still have her here with me. She has now (after 50 years) stopped smoking!! and I would like to 'reward' her with a trip somewhere warm.
She loves Vegas, but would really like to go to Hawaii sometime. I have limited funds to spend at this time, but would really like to take her somewhere.
Anyone have ideas on how to find a cheap package deal? I know that she went to vegas a few years ago with some friends and they got a great deal out of a small airport in eastern Iowa.
We live closest to Moline IL and Peoria IL airports.
I don't think we would be too particular on where we went or when (except I am taking DD to WDW april 10-17 so would not be able to go anytime around there due to work.
THanks for any help or hints.

We got a really cheap package deal to Hawaii last summer from priceline. The total package for 3 adults including airfare and hotel was like 1200 and then the car rental was around 150. All through priceline.

Woweee! That's a great price! Where did you fly from?
THanks.
I will sure try and check this one out.

I've been doing some research for DH and I to get away and so far the best deals I've found have come out of Expedia. Try looking there under vacation pkgs. You can also book rental car, or transport to/from airport, attraction tickets, etc. I'd also look at travelocity, orbitz, hotwire, priceline, hmmm can't think of the other one off hand that I'd been looking at. I just think Expedia has the best deals right now. Good luck in your search and have fun whenever and wherever you decide to go!

Try to get a "chartered" flight if you can. Those tend to run cheaper if they don't fill up. Mexico and the Dominican Republic are both pretty well priced right now. Check your local papers also. See if you can grab a "last minute deal" for travel soon. And just stay away from Easter/Spring Break... :)
