Finding travel buddies

My solo trip turned into a non-solo trip. My DS started his new job last week, so he won't be able to join me. However, a fried/co-worker expressed interest when I offered him to join me on my trips. He's always wanted to go to Disney for a trip to see how I plan everything out. 'm glad he'll be able to join me in my 2-bedroom unit at Old Key West. Should be a lot of fun. We get along well.

Really glad I found this thread. I’m just back from a family trip that was underwhelming. Stepdad treated me, DD and boyfriend, and husband (separated 5 years) for my 60th. Between caring for stepdad with his ECV and constantly explaining where we were going, when we were in a park vs. at the resort, and the judgement from the young adults on my lightning lane timing choices, it was - a lot. I’m seriously grateful, and there were some great meals and fun. But I didn’t get to do so much of what I love - the shows, shopping in Epcot, just sitting at a bar for a meal. I’m seriously considering my first solo trip next spring. Someone convince me I won’t be lonely!

You might be a little bit lonely . . . but you will also get to do everything you want, at your own pace, and give it your undivided attention. You may notice details you never did before, and have a more relaxing time. You might get into conversations with other guests or cast members that you otherwise wouldn't have. In fact, you might discover that the benefits outweigh the negatives, and solo trips are your new preferred way to travel! You have been warned.

I’m used to traveling with my family but am treating myself to a solo birthday trip in a couple months! I’m so excited to do things at my pace and see all details I usually miss out on with making sure the kids are having fun!

Ok, so when you guys go solo, where do you stay? I’ve looked at the tower studio at Riviera and the Studio Duo at the Poly tower. I also stayed once at the Swan Reserve and really liked it! But all are pricey.

I was supposed to have my first solo trip coming up. My cousin decided to join me last minute. Next one, definitely a solo will be right after. Hope I can handle it. I am hoping to meet up with a friend for one evening. Other than that......time will tell. I don't look forward to any of my trips since my DH passed last year though. I know Disney is one place I can do solo and be in the bubble. Fingers crossed.

Go for it. I have gone and will be going with my grown up kids and grandchildren but I can't sit home waiting around for them or anyone else to join me for that matter.
