I called WDW ticket and spoke with a CM -

To find out if an old ticket is still valid. Email Disney at ticket.useage@disneyworld.com

You will need to Give them you Name and email address ,copy off the back and front of your ticket and a copy of your Government ID(Drivers License) put them in attached file along with your request. This will take about 14 business day to processes .

They will tell you in advance or over the phone or by mail if the ticket is still good for something.

But you have to be there in person to find out exactly how many days, etc. remain on the ticket.

Almost all tickets without bar codes or magnetic stripes can be determined to be valid just by looking at them. Standard tickets of those vintages (20'th century) do not expire. The miniscule number of exceptions have to do with special series of promotional tickets that have use-by dates.

They actually will tell you over the phone exactly how many days are left on tickets (after you have sent them copies of front/back of tickets and ID). I just did this a month ago. I first sent an email with all the info on the tickets. Got an email about 2 weeks later asking for the copies of everything. About 2 weeks later I got a phone call from Disney. She told me exactly how many days (and Plus options) were on each and every ticket I had.

Do you or anyone know how to go about converting these to tickets that can be used today? Maybe even magic bands etc. Can they be converted to the new system without using them at that time?

Take any older ticket to any ticket booth or guest relations, and they can be traded (no charge) to a current plastic ticket with RFID enhancement.
The new plastic tickets will have the same asset(s) as the old tickets.

Although it is a long shot,
you can TRY to add the old tickets to your MyDisneyExperience file
in advance of your trip (to be linked to a MagicBand) by calling-

WDW Ticketing at
(407) 566-4985 (option 5) or

Or call the WDW IT Dept. at
(407) 939-3471 or
(407) 939-7849 or
(407) 939-4357 or
(407) 939-7765 (option #2)

If you are in the UK, call-
0800 16 90 749

But, several reports are that certain older tickets can't be added to MDE
in advance, so guests would need to wait until they arrive and exchange
the old tickets before adding them to MDE.

Thanks for this info! I was wondering how I could check on some old tix I saved with Waterpark option still unused.

Thanks!

Question if I exchange them they still hold the no expiration value right don't have to use them in 14 days or anything silly?

If we have older tickets that can only be added to MDE In person, can we still book FP+ without tickets linked to our reservation?

I think the answer is no. You need to have tickets linked to you reservation to book FP+ ahead of time. My old tickets would not link, so we decided to buy tickets for all of us and bring the old ones down with us, convert them to the newer tickets, and then use them the next time (after conversion so we can link them).

The new tickets that you receive in exchange will have exactly the same remaining assets as your old ones.

I just linked tickets from 2007 to my MDE. I looked for the ticket on the site that looked mine & followed the instructions.

I was unable to link 2002, 2005, 2011 tickets and a random 2007 ticket. I got different messages for different tickets. Some said I would need to go to guest relations and others said to call.

I too got varying messages when I tried to enter old tickets. Mine were from 1999 and 2005 (I believe). None of them would link.

I just tried doing this. Using the email address ticket.useage@disneyworld.com the email came back to me with a Delivery Status Notification of failed delivery. I will try calling wdw tomorrow. If I get any new info I will post it here.

So glad I found this thread! I've been trying for 2 days to link a ticket from 2007, but it looks like part of the ticket# may have rubbed off. I know I used this ticket on my last visit in 10/12 so I'm hopeful someone can tell me ahead of time the rest of the info I need to set this up in MDE. Guess I'll photocopy it, along with my license and send off an email tomorrow.

This info was in the email reply I got telling me they rec'd my message:
