Finding Nemo Line.

Sounds like it might be a really good idea to do it at the very end of the day. Do you think that would work in June, second week, or do we need to do the Nemo dash one morning?

At 7 a.m. precisely the head guy smiled and made a little "go" motion, and those of us at the rope took off. My husband, who is a runner, dashed on over around the back side of the Matterhorn; there were CMS all along the route pointing the way and seeming to shrug at the runners.

Wow! I've never been to rope drop for Disneyland, but used to love working it at the Studios. You'd get to chat up people in the morning and give pointers on some of the rides they wanted to get on. But the big thing there was that there was at least one rep from each of the rides in that area (ex: Area 3 was Rock N Roller Coaster & Tower). One of us would be the walker. While we would walk quickly, we made a point that if anyone got to the ride before us they would be sent right through to the exit and asked to get back in line. You always had a few people that would seriously pace you, but they always stayed behind after you made that announcement.

DL sounds like more of a mad house opening - esp with the new Nemo ride!

We've done Nemo 3 times since it opened. Maybe 4....but I think only 3. :)
The first time was in July, we hadn't decided to upgrade to AP's yet so we got in line one night at 11:45 pm, waited in line and were on and off the ride by 12:45 so it took about an hour all the way through. We slept late the next day. :) LOL
We went again in January, at the beginning with that horrible rain storm that was going on. When we got in late Friday it wasn't raining so we went to the parks, sprinkled on us all night but nothing major, we got in "line" for Nemo and we were first!!! NO line at all! LOL Seriously, and then there were only about 10 people total on the whole sub! :)
Went again at the end of January, got in line at the end of the day again and waited about 40 min. tops.
So I guess it was 3 times. :) If you don't want to wait though just ask to see it in the viewing room, still a neat "show" either way.

Hello,
Well first off im new to these boards :)

Anyways my first question is regarding the line for nemo.

Everytime I go to disneyland Nemo has a line of at least 60 minutes. The ride has been open for 9 months already. Do you believe it will ever slow down?

Also,
Everytime I head to the nemo ride they say there line is 90 minutes when the actual wait time is 60 minutes. Has anybody noticed this?

My last question is,
I have seen the hidden sea serpent on the ride. However where is the hidden mermaid?

Thanks

When I went last year in December the wait was only 30-45 minutes max. It went by fast.

We were there last week, and we did the recommended method to get on Nemo first thing. IT. WAS. INSANE.

We took our second Magic Morning to do it. Park opening was 8 a.m. (spring break, huge crowds) so MM started at 7 a.m. SOOO... we got to the security station at 6:10. The security people weren't there yet. There were two other people there. Within 8 minutes there were about 30 people behind us. Security started strolling up at 6:20. At 6:30 they opened, and we ran for the gates. We were first in line at our turnstile. They did the countdown and opened the turnstiles at 6:50. Everybody ran, and I mean DASHED (despite CMs calling out, "Please don't run!") to the end of Main Street, which was roped off for the rope drop. I had never heard of this before, rope drop at early entry, but there it was. Just before 7 a.m., the security people quietly moved along the lines, winding up the rope and saying calmly, "Don't go yet, ok, we're just getting the rope out of the way, we'll tell you when to go." At 7 a.m. precisely the head guy smiled and made a little "go" motion, and those of us at the rope took off. My husband, who is a runner, dashed on over around the back side of the Matterhorn; there were CMS all along the route pointing the way and seeming to shrug at the runners. He and my fast-moving daughter jumped into the line and started winding through all the roped maze. The other 3 of us caught up and ducked under to join them maybe 15 seconds later. We got onto the first sub. The line was up to an hour within a few minutes.

Now, it's a cute ride, and I'm glad we saw it, but in retrospect it is a whole lot of hooha for ... just that, a cute ride. :confused3 What a manic run. I felt like the running of the bulls in Pamplona. It was crazy to do all that for a ride. Of course, my opinion is colored by the fact that one of my daughters wasn't feeling well and making her do this made her worse, I realized later. She should have been back at the hotel, sleeping in and resting.

I could have wrote that exact same story! It's exactly what we did the same week Nemo opened! Was hoping it had gotten better since then, but it looks like everyone still makes a mad dash over there!

It used to leave the rest of the rides with pretty much a little to no line though. Everyone was over at Nemo!

It is cute, but not worth an hour IMO. We'd like to see it again in June, so I guess we'll try to ride it at the end of the night!

Sorry if this is a repeat. When did you get in line in the evening? Right at the end of the night or was it a certain amount of time before closing?

I was 3 the only time I rode the sub in MK and don't have fond memories. I think my kids would like nemo but I so much prefer the FL rides to my memories of limited viewing and cramped space on the old sub.

Is my 3 y/o memory way off or is it somewhat smelly and limited in what you see? BTW it was humid spring in Florida at that time.

I was there last week with the insane spring break crowds as well. We had two MM, but only managed to get up for one... so we decided to do Nemo that morning. We were at the gates at 6:30.... along with a billion other people. We walked briskly to the rope drop area and were about 25 people back from the rope. At the drop, we walked briskly to the Nemo line (with everyone else!) and had about a 45 minute wait. The rest of the time we were there the line was about 2 hours long. I asked a CM if it died out at park closing... she said that on Tuesday night of last week they had riders on Nemo until almost 2am!!!

I met many families who just decided to not ride it, it was not worth the crazy wait.
