Finding Dream Ears?

DH and I were in DTD this morning, we were sitting on the balcony at the Virgin Mega store, when we saw the dream squad handing out dream ears down the street. DH has been in pursuit of the dream ears since we arrived. We set out as fast as we could but came up just short. We walked down the street a little more into PI and on the plastic covers that cover metal poles with no one around we found two adult dream ears. We were over extreemly excited. I was just wondering if someone left their dream ears or if the dream squad occsionally leaves dream ears sitting in places for people to find them. If anyone knows I would love to know the awnser. Thanks.

I read your post yesterday, and I'm surprised you haven't received any responses. Honestly, I've never seen/heard of ears being left behind. This is what I think...

You and your DH simply found a pair of Dream ears from a couple of guests who received them in the promotion, and for whatever reason (maybe they had a pair of ears already, maybe they didn't want ears to begin with, etc.), they made a conscious decision to leave them behind on the ledge.

It's very likely that this other couple of guests made that decision so that they could share the magic with someone who would want these ears. Enjoy them!

May I ask, what are dream ears?

For one thing, dream ears are very special Mickey ears that the Dream Squad hands out specifically for Year of a Million Dreams. They usually pick groups of people. I have recieved Dream ears Twice, one at Star Tours, where our whole ship got them. The second time was at Test Track, where the whole room full of people got them. So i guess you just have to be lucky, and be in the right place at the right time. I have never heard of the castmembers just leaving ears in random places, so i guess you just got lucky! Usually they hand them out personally. It is pretty awesome!!!

We got Dream Ears in Epcot on 9/22...we walked into Innovations(the side w/ the firetruck) and a group of us got them. I was happy. Also, we got upgraded to concierge at our resort, so I'd say this trip was pretty magical!

I suspect someone left them there because they didn't want 'em. Our next door neighbors won dream ears and didn't even realize it...they thought it was just some kind of advertisement. I saw 'em sitting in their house and said
"Oh, you won a dream prize!" and they said, "No, someone was just giving them to everyone at Epcot for some reason." I could easily imagine them just leaving 'em behind.

We were at DTD on the 22nd and walked out of the Memorabilia store (by the Candy Cauldrom) around 12:00 p.m and the Dream Squad was handing out the Dream Ears...I was so excited, because we've won the Dream FastPass 4 times, and the Dream Lanyard once, but always those ears remained elusive - FINALLY!! We noticed several groups of adults who did not seem at all interested in them, either declining or taking them but not wearing them - not me - they immediately went on my head and I wore them proudly!!

I can't imagaine anyone not wanting dream ears lol, but I am glad someone decided to leave them by the wayside. It was funny because I was praying hard for those things because DH wanted them so much. I have to admit that I wanted them to but poor DH whole demenor changed when we didn't get down the street fast enought to get them.

Ours went promply on our heads as well and we wore them a lot of the trip.

I too had been in hot pursuit of a pair of dream ears. We won dream fast passes twice while on vacation at DL. But always missed out on the ears. Well this part is truly magic. I was bummed that we never got any ears and my birthday was coming up. We had returned home at this point and I believed my dreams of getting ears was over. Well just after my birthday I recieved a package in the mail from our dvc guide. He had sent me his own ears that he'd won with a note that said Mickey sent them for me and wanted to spread a little pixie dust for my bday. I was sooooo happy. This was truly magical. I keep my ears in my china cabinet so that I can see them everyday!

I can't believe that people would just leave them behind. Before our vacation I was desperate for both the pins and the ears. I managed to get the pins through pin trading, but the ears (and the Dream Team for that matter) eluded me. enjoy your find. I glad that the ears have found a good home.

We won ears on our first day back in January. I was SOOOOO happy!! I felt like I'd just won a night at the Cinderella Castle! I wore them all that day, as did the rest of my family.

i have spoken to a dream squad member who told me a few people take the ears and do not really want them and the dream squad members find them on trash cans or ledges. if they dont want them they should just refuse the ears. most people really those dream ears.

I can't imagine not wanting any of the dream prizes. Last year we won dream fast passes 2 of our 5 days at Disneyland but alas those ears eluded us as well.

we were just in WDW = back on 10/12. one day we're in the fast past line at soarin and we're next to board. so i ask the CM standing there about sitting in B1, which i read was the best seat. he was teasing my DD 9 about sitting on the wing- or in luggage etc. very funny friendly guy. anyway, we're chatting and another CM comes over, tho now i notice she's wearing the soarin uniform, while the other guy wasn't. she goes - "he's with the Dream Squad - what's about to happen to you is way better than B1" - then a bunch of CM's start bustling about and i hear "are we live?? are we live???" - so i'm thinking - 'we got the castle suite!!' i was so jacked, i couldn't believe it!! - right then the CM for soaring called our party and we boarded - as we walked away they handed us the dream ears.

i was convinced that we were to wear those all day and other good disneyesque things would occur because the ears identified us for special treatment ( i know, i'm crazy). but based on her comments, i thought, it could not have been just the ears! seriously, i made my family wear them all day long!! it wasn't till i got back home and came on these boards and saw that was not the case-- that the ears are just one of many gifts. not to sound ungrateful but that's what was going thru my little optimistic mind!!! after all - you see commercials on TV about Cinderella's Castle Suite - not Mickey Ears!!
