While I used to always say leave it as is and I like the general money saving threads, the financial advice threads are getting old. Yes, I can just skip them, but another board could be a good thing.

When you're talking of splitting the boards, are you asking for a board with nothing but WDW saving ideas? Would all other money saving & Financial advice be on the other board? I didn't vote, because I would like to see all money saving threads on the same board, with only Financial discussions on the other.

That said, I think leaving the board the way it is would work fine, if there was a policy established to answer only the budget questioned asked, & not input personal opinions on another's choices on how they spend money. JMO

I don't think it is possible to seperate those. Some of the best money-saving tips come on the personal finance threads and getting out of debt threads.

I say leave it as is. How many posts can you have about "how do I save money eating at WDW" or "how much cash should I bring". Worthy questions, of course, but we need something else to read in the meanwhile!

Plus, any thread that helps with finances, can potentially help people save for Disney, so it's kind of related....sort of....a bit....

The other thing to consider is many of the traditional budget board tips are ways to save a few dollars here or there while the advice in the personal finance threads are often ways to save hundreds or thousands of dollars. Not to say that clipping coupons isn't important or that it isn't nice to get a free sample of something, but the tips in the finance threads can be far more lucrative.

I voted to leave as is. I wasn't around the DIS when things were apparantly differently on this board. I don't have a problem scanning and looking for topics that interest me. And when it comes down to planning a trip, I expect to go to that particular board in hopes of finding the ultimate deal. (i.e transportation, dining, resorts, etc.) If I have a basic one stop shop question I know to come here and someone will help out!

My suggestion was based on the fact that many people who are interested in the Financial discussions say they're not interested in the little ways to save money or ways to make some extra cash. The reverse seems to be true on the most part, as well. Just a thought.
