Finally! I can claim my 5 lb clippie!

I have made some goal changes... I am only going for an average of 1 pound per week. After reading the Dr Phil book, I've really seen that I need to make a lifestyle change and not a diet.

Food is my main vice and coping mechanism. I've had a fairly horrendous 3 years where I had to be incredibly strong for everyone else coupled with the every day stress that others face. I had accepted my average size after 3 kids and was in the healthy range. I gained weight due to stress and then yo-yo'd :yo-yo: up to the weight I am now, by the diet/deprivation and then binge/overeat syndrome. I have realized that it's insane to expect myself to change these habits overnight. My main goal is to try to eat when hungry and not beat myself up when I overeat. My self-worth is NOT measured by the size of my thighs!

I have started exercising and have done that 7 out of the last 9 days.

So, that's my story (which was actually very wrenching to write, for some reason) and thanks for listening.

Vivienne,
Thanks for your candid post. I think we all struggle with the yo-yo and it is a healthy first step to talk about it. That is what makes this board so great. We all hear you and most of us comletely understand. This is a jourmey in which there is strength in numbers. Together, we can do it. Glad to have you here!

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

Oh, I forgot to mention how beautiful you look in your new clippie!

The stories are all different but the feeling of helplessness are all the same. We're here to help and encourage each other. You've come to the right place for a pat on the back when you celebrate your victories and a big hug when you've had less than a good day. We'll dance with you, play with you, and hold your hand if you need it.

Right now you're in line for a big congratulations and a hardy pat on the back for a job well done!! Keep up the good work!!

Congratulations on the 5 lbs clippie, way to go! Also, congrats on the exercise. I know it's hard and not always fun (at least for me) but once you get into a regular routine, I think you will find that you don't want to miss a day which is good! Good luck and keep up the great work!

Thanks for the sweet replies!! It REALLY helps!!
