I stopped into the Square One Mall in Mississauga, Ontario today, where there is one of those newly re-imagined Disney Stores.

Looks like they re-decorated one of the old ones and that's it. Maybe I'd set the bar too high, but I was expecting it to be more like WoD and less like The Disney Store. It's still the same stuff, mostly geared towards kids and very little for adults.

Who else has visited one of the new stores? Where was it, and what did you think?

I went to that one too and I feel the same. Same stuff different layout other than ridemakers. But it's sooo much more DS can wait till our next trip to do it in the world.

I just visited one of the new stores yesterday here in Cincinnati. I don't know about the size of the other stores, but ours is small and we actually had to wait in a line to get into the store because it was at capacity. I felt like I needed a fastpass just to go into the store. Granted this was just a few days after opening with the "Grand Opening Celebration" this coming Saturday, but I'm hoping I'm not going to have to wait in a huge line this coming holiday season.

My over all impression of the store was cute, but I felt that because of the size space that it was in, and with all the displays, that there was hardly any room to move around. Once I actually got into the store I was surprised at the little number of people in the store yet it was at capacity. :confused3

You said something that made think. You said you were expecting a World of Disney store. Now that you mention it, that would be awesome! I'd love to have a true WoD store nearby! :thumbsup2 That's what they should be doing!

The only Disney store near us is the same old regular one at the mall. I have been wishing they would sell some pins there. That's not asking for much, is it? :confused3

Same here. Went to the Cherry Hill, NJ store when it opened and was SO not impressed. Same old crap. I was hoping they would bring back merchandise that someone over the age of 10 might actually want to buy. No such luck. Other than some nice ornaments and a couple of Nightmare items, it was all kids stuff.

I really miss the Disney Store of old with a whole line of collectibles, figurines, artwork, watches, jewelry, etc. Those stores were geared as much toward adults (if not more) than they were toward kids.

We've had the same experience here in MA. Visited two Disney Stores and they still don't bring the magic that the originals did.
