Okay so last night after years of waiting I finally received a PIN woohoo for being achosen one. Although I am appreciative I am kinda dissapointed. 20%off rack room only rates. I called and put a package on hold and applied the discount. Please tell me what you think about this offer.
2 Adults 1 5 yr old and 1 infant
Pop Century, standard room, no travel insurance, Nov 29th-Dec 9th with 9 days on basic park passes.
$1510.63 w/o DDP
$2420.33 w/DDP

When I priced it online the same offer w/o DDP is $1640.41 that is only a savings of $129.

While I am very appreciative of receiving a pin is it absurd of me to yearn for a better pin especially with so many 40% off package deals out there and WDW announcing so many layoffs and etc?
SO what do you think is this a great deal would you take it?

The date we selected the offer is only good from 11/29 to 12/5 so 12/5 to 12/9 wouldnt be discounted right?

It's only a $129 because you are using the 20% off the least expensive room rate at Disney. Even the 40% off PIN would only be a savings of $258 at a value. The % off PINS are more of a savings on the deluxe resorts.
As far a 'taking the deal..it would depend. If I was planning on going that time of year, I would happily take the additional 20% off. If you want to stay at a value and your dates are flexible, perhaps consider the Free dining offer, which will save you much more.

Yeah that makes sense. The last time we went was for FD in 2007. I would love to go again for FD this year but DH says it will be too hot in Aug and I would rather not go in September since my LO starts his first year of school this year. I am actually rather reluctant of taking him out of school at all but the Christmas decorations at the World are my bargaining tool to get my Grumpy DH to go. Not too mention I would rather wait till after my daughter turns 1 in September to take a trip.

I guess after getting free dining in the past its hard to get anything to compare to it to such a frugal person!

We have never stayed at a moderate before only ASM and POP. Any recommendations or advice? Since POP was our first on-site I guess it just feels like home to us.

Ahhhh! Just such a different type of planning now with an infant and little one starting school. Such dilemnas sp?.

I just got my first pin too, kids 3-9 play free and dine free- my kids are 10 and 16!

Well, I am not sure how much help I will be;)... we take our kids out of school every year in Sept. (for free dining). We have stayed at ASMovies (loved it), POP(didn't love it but are trying it again in June with the 4/3 deal), CSR (didn't love it at all), POFQ(liked it), AKL(LOVED it), and Poly(absolute LOVE it)...we are using our 40% off PIN code to stay at the Poly in Sept. We originally booked the Poly for free dining last year using the bounceback but when we got the PIN it saved us a LOT more money so we switched.

I just got the 20% off pin too for Dec.. wondering what the chances are of getting another pin for another higher percentage off.. or wondering if Disney will offer free dining or 4/3..

$129 is not 20% of 1640. 20% of 1640 should be about $328. $1510 is 20% of $1887. Could the price difference be for a preferred room at Pop? I would probably call back and verify the room category.

Yeah the 20% off is room only and we added base 9 day tix on. Thats kinda why I was dissapointed because I guess in my PIN dreams it was always a package discount.

But atleast it was discount I could use. Sry Samsma but anyday you wannna borrow mine you are welcome! ;).

I did call back and price out the Carribean but it ended up avg out to about $70 extra per night. Which I just cant justify since we like POP, have young kids and are hardly at the resort itself. That alone is pretty much more than our food budget per day.

It could be worse. My first PIN just came and it is a cruise deal that is only good this summer, and we already have a WDW trip planned for September.
