I have many more pictures but.. after being home a bit over a month... I still haven't developed them. I'm going through a bit of a post disney depression and don't want to look at them just yet.. lol .. I'm sure some of you out there understand!

September 1-9 we stayed at POFQ... in 2001 I stayed at CBR and was never comfy there... I was hesitant about POFQ because I'm a beachy girl and if CBR didn't do it for me I was starting to wonder if anything could. From the moment I stepped off of the bus I was in love with this resort.

The lobby is gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful.. a windowed fountain, light and airy and full of plants.

Then there is a little pub... at night, there was a performer who was WONDERFUL! He played the sax, the keyboard, sang.. we had the best time. He's very into audience interaction and great with kids!

Just beyond this is the food court. It's festively decorated. We enjoyed the food!

The paths are set up like streets in the French Quarter. We were there a week after katrina hit. It was a bit eery but ... you couldn't help but get lost in the atmosphere... just breathtaking!

The river that runs along the back of the grounds was beautiful. We had a great view of it from our corner 3rd floor room!

We were in building 6... This was our room. It was the perfect location.. close to the pool, quiet and gorgeous view

The inside of the room didnt disappoint tho it WAS dusty.. I had to dust the TV it had a THICK layer of dust and there was some sort of cocoon on the light. I was less than thrilled with mousekeeping. there were days with no new shampoo/soap... never had a towel animal (didn't expect it... but..).. it was ok. Ididn't see any roaches (there was a thread about them at resorts teehee)

The beds were gorgeous

The decor kept with the theme of mardi gras

Even the nightstand was beautiful!

The bedding was festive

Thank you for the beautiful pictures. I am staying there next summer for a few days.It will be sad because of what happened in New Orleans but I think I will feel hopeful being there and hopefully a lot of progress will have been made there by then.

They really paid attention to detail. look at the curtains and wallpaper

Here are some other room shots including the light fixture and sink area...
It has a curtain so it can be a private area or you can use the lights without waking loved ones.

Definitely use wake up call. Mickey calls you and Stitch is in the background!

The boat to DTD was nice and relaxing and GORGEOUS. This was one of our favorite parts.. That and the sound of the clip clop of the horses going downt he path pulling the carriage

The CMs were SO NICE at this resort.. from gift shop to food court! I got great pics of the pool which was WONDERFUL but on my other camera (I must've confused the cameras).. the hot tub was nice too!.... there is a button by the shower to turn it on. We didn't realize that at first haha)
The bartender at the outside bar.. lady with real short hair.. is a hoot to talk to adn she'll tell you lots of behind the scene employee only secrets aboutr the parks:)

And finally a pic I love.. coming back from DTD.. at night on the boat. I love how this turned out!

I'll post more pics when my film is developed.. ANY questions PLEASE ask!
Bus service was QUICK and GREAT.. the only delay was when we had DINNER reservations and needed to get to MK asap and the bus took 45 min to get there:( Other than that we rarely waited more tan 10 minutes and were always the first stop!

Thanks so much CinRell! Those were a lovely intro to the resort. I absolutely LOVE that shot of DD. Very nice! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to post these wonderful pictures and reviews (and also in the Restaurant section). We're booked at POFQ in January so glad to hear you loved it ... did you visit POR while there? It's gorgeous also. Also you replied to me on your food review thread about Boma, so thanks for that. BTW ... I know you're from Cleveland ... I'm from Akron originally, and we visited Cleveland this summer. It was great! Thanks again for letting us see POFQ ... Judy in SC

THanks Judy! I used to do marketing at the Akron Zoo:) I love Akron... they are really making downtown pretty.. with the new stadium etc.
I forgot to mention in this post I would never stay anywhere but POFQ again... Personally I love the doors opening up outside and not in a corridor. I may stay at pop sometime.. but POFQ will always be "home" to me. we didn't get to POR:( Unfortunately it rained much of the time we were there *sigh*

CinRell - just the lift I needed today. I have been homesick for POFQ since I left there in Feb and since I still have 100+ days left til I go back "home" your pictures cured my blues. Thank you.

Thank's so much!!We have a ressie there for next March! We'd never stayed at a moderate before so I am glad to hear positive, especially after one thread that hated her stay there! We wanted somplace we'd never stayed and couldn't justify a deluxe this trip with the price of airfare. Would you consider renting a car if you were going to be there during pear season? My husband says no but I think we should. With this dining plan we will be going to other resorts to eat and I've heard it will take forever to get there!

You know I've been waiting for this. Thank you!!

Hope you're starting to feel better! From what I've read in a recent post, your "post-Disney blues" took an additional hit. I hope that our enjoyment of your pics and trip report can help you to feel a little better too.

We ate at Boma, OHana and Whipsering Canyon and had no problem getting there. It gave us a chance to ride the monorail and the boat.

Personally I can't imagine having a car the streets are really confusing on property and the bus is just so convenient!
Have a GREAT time!

I guess i have to find another guy to take me to the World! LOL

No NO NO! :badpc: You take yourself to the WORLD!!!! :cheer2:

It's good to see that you didn't let the end result tarnish your view of POFQ and Disney!!

One thing I learned/realized when I got married, even though the end of every relationship before came with some pain, I still learned from each of them. And in my husband I could see bits and pieces of each guy who came before him. It just took me a while to find the one who had all those pieces in one package.

Thanks for the post and pics. I am leaning heavily towards POFQ for our next trip, but am still trying to justify spending the extra money as compared to a value. (I have been quite happy with our stays at the values, although I don't think I'd go back to Pop.) All of these posts I'm reading and pics I'm seeing just keep nudging me towards POFQ!

We arrived at POFQ about two weeks after the op. I'll second everything she mentioned. POFQ has been my favorite Mod to stay at so far. We're gonna try WL next year but if the cash flow redirects us to a MOD it will be POFQ.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. POFQ is our favorite resort and we haven't been since 2003 :( but hoping to stay again in 2006. :goodvibes
