your preaching to the choir here

:Pinkbounc DSs go back tomorrow too!! Now the fun of driving the two of them to different schools at different times and trying to pick them both up at the end of the school day when they only get out about a 10 mins. difference. We don't have a bus. Oh and the fun of the homework and the fun little projects.

DS starts school tomorrow too, he is so excited! Lucky for us he doesn't have to be at the bus stop until 7:50.

Do you know what... "Its better to keep your mouth shut & be thought a fool"... where on earth did i hear that????

WOW!!! We have been back in school since August 10th!! We had today off for the holiday and school is cancelled tomorrow due to the tropical storm Frances. High wind and rain.

You got that right!!!! DD starts tomorrow, have to be at the bus stop at 8:40, so not too bad. DS starts preschool on Friday, now that's a happy day!!! Two whole hours to myself!!!! Now what to do..... :p

You know I have to say that I have never, ever felt this way.

I'm a single parent and my kids go to their dad's for two weeks in the summer, plus the every other weekend and week night visitation.

I miss the heck out of them when school starts :(

And they're almost 16 and almost 14 (girl and boy)!!!

DS started last Tuesday and DD started today (believe it or not). Both of them will be in school for the first time tomorrow. Subbing really hasn't started yet and I'm depressed.

I only have three more years with DD and then she'll be gone.

I don't see them enough :(

I really really must appologise for the above reply in my name:eek: My nephew stayed last night, & he was wondering what i was doing on my pc...He as gone home now so i just decided to have a browse round the board(like you do)when i saw this post & opened it...omg the shock i got when i saw "my" reply...I have just got off the phone after telling him off,he says he is sorry..I feel soooo embarrassed :( I`m gonna have to have a good look round the board now to make sure he has not replied to anyone else... I`m so sorry about that:( :( My nephew is 15 so should know better than to do things like this...

Chrissie,
No need to apologize - I didn't see anything wrong in your nephew's post!

And I am another one who has always been sad when school started. My DS began 10th grade two weeks ago and my DD just started her freshman year at college. In fact, my DH is driving her back to the University right now and I have fighting back the tears.....:(

My kids and I fight and have battles - but I absolutely love having them at home.:D

Mine start tomarrow also
my DD in 4th grade has to be at the bus at 8:50
BUT DD going into 6th has to catch the bus at 6:41 AM
and she is the one who likes to sleep till 10
oh well
they are both excited about going back

Woohoo! I still have until Thursday until my oldest goes, and Monday for my youngest (preschool, 3 days a week). There is light at the end of the tunnel! :Pinkbounc :teeth:

:(

Up here in Canada we send our kids to school on Tuesday morning and I lose another one to the system. My little daughter starts kindergarden today:(
she was crying last night and didn't want to leave me.
Left her the morning and she was happy and glad to go.

We've got 5 weeks under our belts already! Yes, the "fun" projects are already happening here- last week a mobile was due on the state of Utah and this week a 3-D food Utah map is due along with instructions to use appropriate food materials and inhance them??- we have to show at least three land forms ( water, mtns., deserts and so on...) We bought lots of candy and frosting to frost the chocolate chip cookie map.

We worked on it for a few hours yesterday and this morning my oldest (who's project it is! ) woke up with a fever/sore throat and the DR> says it's strep throat! We have to turn it in this week so I'm sending a note for the teacher to not let anyone eat the project- I don't know if strep can survive on candy but I don't want to make anyone sick!

chrissie, my older dd will be 14 in november, so I understand about 15 year old nephews. ;)

the reason high school starts at 7:20 in the morning is that our idstrict uses the same busses for each of the schools -- my daughters have had the smae bus driver every year, no matter which school they went to. Mike drives the high school run, then comes back for the middle school, then back again for the elementary school.

first day went well. they love their teachers, they have firends in all their classes, they both think this will be a great year.
