We have been on the wait-list for Thanksgiving night since May and finally it happened---a message from DVC on my phone that there was availability. We were on the wait-list for all resorts and the BWV studio came thru.

My husband and I were so thrilled, we leaped for joy that it finally happened for us.

Now we are set up. We will stay at the BVW studio for 6 nights and at OKW studio for 4 nights.

Anyone out there would recommend us purchasing UPH in advance or wait til we get to the resort? If we purchase in advance, where's the best place to shop fr DVC members?

Just wondering is there a chance that you would be returning within the next year??? Your paying so much in UPH that your just $31 shy of a PAP. And if there is a chance that you would be returning maybe you should consider a PAP...

We will more than likely make plans to go back in Nov 2003. Does the annual pass expire the same day the following year as when you purchased or will it expire at the end of that particular month? Do they mail these to you or do you purchase them at the resort upon arrival?

Thanks.

They do expire on the same day the following year. This is the day you activate the AP vouchers if you order them by phone or over the internet. If you order them this way they will mail you a voucher. Or you can wait and buy them once you hit the parks. It doens't take long at all to activate.

Just a couple of other things to consider re UPHs:

* If you buy in advance, you can't get your 10% DVC Member discount (at least I think that is the case).

*If you buy in advance, you won't be able to drop the day of arrival and/or the day of departure (assuming that you want to do that). Also, since you are staying at two different resorts, you might have trouble with "overlapping days" when you switch resorts. I believe only the onsite CMS have the ability to take care of that for you.

Enjoy your trip!

PS I agree with the others. If you can arrange your November 2003 trip to occur before your PAP expires, that would be the best option for you. Also, unless you use the waterparks, DQ or PI quite often, it may be an even better deal to buy "plain" APs and then pay for the other attractions separately. There are DVC discounts available for all of the other attractions. You'd have to do the math for your situation to be sure.

Congrats on getting off the wait list!
