Finally--I got a decent photo of Tink!

I know lots of people here will fight for the right to say Tink is a woman and they'll know this person or that person, and throw this fact and that fact at us. :duck: But I will only believe first hand what my own eyes have seen. That ain't no woman. :scared: I stood under her(and I use that term lightly :rotfl: ) wire before..and it really ruined it for me. I wish I had kept watching from a distance. Thank goodness my children weren't there. It wasn't just me and DH either, EVERYONE in that rose garden was saying the same thing, "Oh my gosh. Tinkerbelle is a MAN!"

Now I had a very "husky" female friend in highschool, but my golly, she still had B***S and shaved her legs! :lmao:

I'm not going to get into the gender deBAIT - but wanted to comment on the body size. For all those calling Tink "husky" or any varriation thereof - just what do you think has to be worn under the outfit to keep Tink safe while flying?? BULKY gear!

I think what is so "husky" about her are her legs. They aren't in an outfit...so :confused3

I'm laughing so hard right now! That's definately a man. Tink is my favorite Disney character. I'm shocked. I won't tell my 5 yr. DD she will be mortified. I have never got a picture that was so close and clear, good picture taking. Nichole

This thread reminds me of our last visit to WDW - and as Tink flew over our heads, my DD screamed out "Oh my god, Tink's a guy!!", it broke everyone up.

Now here's some some further info to give you all more scars (my son is a CM). Yes, Tink is muti-gendered, there are multiple Prince Charming's - and at least two of them are gay, and finally, while my son was eating in the MK cafeteria recently Cinderella and Snow White left the table next to his to go out for a smoke! The horror.. the horror!

That is so funny but my kids wouldn't think so! I don't even want to show my 6 year old that picture. I guess we will stay at the far end of the castle when watching wishes.

Okay, I asked my co-worker about her experience as Tink, and the big question: do they ever use a man as Tinker Bell? :tink:

Look away if you want to stay pure....

:rolleyes1

:smooth:

:bitelip:

:p

:rolleyes1

:teeth:

Yes, they do, but only if there's no choice. :scared1: She's a small person, and she said that any man that does do the flight had to be very small also. She also verified that they do wear a ear-phone to communicate with operations, or whoever it is that controls that particular magic!. :confused3 She said one time she got stuck in flight and she had some un-Disney like words for those in operations.

Last time I was at WDW I was also told that they use Men to fly as Tinkerbell. At least from the ground you can't tell

In the words of Austin Powers "She's a man, baby!"

That was the perfect quote. I wish that I had thought of it! ;)

You definitely made my day - I can't stop giggling!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Okay.. now that's definitely a guy. If that's not a guy, she sure needs to shave.. big time! :rotfl:

With all those bright lights, it *could* be a shadow. And you'd have to have really muscular legs to be so strong/agile/athletic. Even if it were a man, I doubt Disney would let Tink have a full mustache. Although I'm not convinced, I am telling myself it is a woman. I want to remain pure.

Since Tink is seen at such a distance might he/she be wearing copious make up so that she/he might be more visible?

Peter Pan has mostly been played by women (weight restrictions on the old wires) it is only fair that Tink COULD be a guy.

I thought I had read where the one Tink had finally retired after years of service.

There are some things that I would rather not inspect TOO closely and Tink is one of them. Next thing I know someone is going to tell me that Santa is skinny in 'real' life. :crazy2:

Slightly Goofy

I hate to burst your bubble, but Santa IS skinny in real life. How do I know - my family and I met him outside the Beach Club last trip. He is a Disney cast member involved in construction, has a full white beard, and his nametag actually says SANTA. Even the tags on his truck said SANTA. According to him he is the only disneyworld employee allowed to have a full beard. He also has a wreath attached to the fromt of the truck that stays on there all year long. Really cool guy - we enjoyed meeting and talking to him.

Picture was so cool, I was amazed when I saw her from the deck at CG.

I just HAD to take another look at this thread. It's like trying to avoid gawking at a car accident, no matter how hard you try, you can't help looking.

I vote for man!

We were also shocked to see that the Fairy Godmother was really a Fairy Man - Mother during the parade  We watched for "her" again during our last trip and sure enough...MAN!

I'm the OP, and thanks for all the compliments about the photos. I can't believe this thread so recently has had life (I found it while doing a search for another post).

For those who care, I used a Canon 20D with a 50mm 2.8 lens (effective focal length of 80mm). I had the aperture wide open with a shutter speed of 1/50 sec @ ISO 3200.

After laughing my way through the many posts I hadn't read earlier, I thought I should look at my originals. I found one more that I think at least lays to rest the mustache rumor ;).

We just planned a trip for the first week of January. I'll use a faster lens with hopes to get a clearer photo of that night's Tink. Personally, I think WDW uses a Tink "helper." The real Tink is much too busy to have a regular job.

I can't believe I have missed this post on all my years in DIS boards.
Too Funny :rotfl2: I vote man.

By the way the Queen of Hearts & Maleficent, a face charecter are played by men.

I have the pictures to prove it from last years MNSSHP.
It made my NSSHP a little scary :scared1:
