Cast: Me - 4th time to WDW in just over a year (gotta love those APs), master planner
Phil - Been to DL once over 20 years ago, 1st time to WDW
(Both early 40s)
We awoke to pouring rain for our KTTK tour at 9a so decided we needed a good, hot breakfast to fuel us up. I went to the Food Court to order while Phil finished getting dressed. Caught the MK bus around 8:15a and as were driving around the stops at POR, I realized Id forgotten the confirmation for our tour!! OH NO!!! I asked the driver if there was any way he could drop me back at the FQ. He did (thank you Mr. Driver). I thought for sure there was no way Id get back to the room, find the confirmation, get another bus and get to MK in time. Five minutes later I was back at the bus stop and the MK bus was there Phil waved me to hurry up. After I got on and we got underway, Phil told me that the driver had pulled up not too long after wed been dropped off. He put the bus inpark, got off, wandered up and down the bus stop talking to people, got back on and proceeded to wiping the inside of the windshield until I showed up!! I think the first driver had told him of my dilemma so I have BIG thank yous to both wonderful drivers you saved my day!!!
We made it to MK at 8:50a and it was POURING!!! We checked in at City Hall and picked out our lunches. Once given buttons and clearance badges, we were off on our tour. Our guide was Justin and he was great!!! We learned all about Main Street in the rain then headed to Adventureland where we sought shelter at some tables near the Dole Whip stand. Our first ride was supposed to be the JC, but they had to shut it down thered been so much rain that the boats were in danger of tipping!! So onto PoC. By the time we got off, the rain had ended and we were able to really enjoy the rest of the tour. Lunch at CHH was very good. We definitely thought it was worth the money!!!
Our feet decided it was time for a break so back to the room we went. Today was our last park day, but we were too tired to head to another park. We headed to the hot tub for a much needed soak but there were so many kids in it!!! I went for a quick swim instead while Phil headed for the bed and the remote control.
Around 6p we caught the DTD bus and headed to Pleasure Island for a night of fun. Grabbed some fast food (nachos and sausages) and a drink. Since it was early, not too much was happening. Tried to get into the Beach Club but it was closed for a private party. Next stop was the Comedy Improv which was really funny then the Adventurers Club which was good (I love Gracey!!). We both decided that we were too tired to have anymore fun so we headed out. At the exit a guy with a halogram (?) for a body asked why are you leaving when the night is young? to which Phil replied because we arent! We were feeling twice our age that night!!! Caught a bus and were back to the room by 10:30p.
