NOT staying onsite this time... I know BLASPHEMY... so I had to get there EARLY.

I arrived at 8:01am, an hour before the scheduled opening. Went straight to the gate, there were about a hundred people there already. Universal pipes the Shrek soundtrack while you're waiting so everyone has SHREK on the mind. I hear people planning their route, their strategies, it's CRAZY. Several more gates open up while we wait and people run from line to line like animals! Everyone is chomping at the bit.

Well, at 8:40AM the gates open and THEY'RE OFF!!

Those POOR people who take pictures of people coming in... they were nearly TRAMPLED! It was soooo funny!

We get to the ride and there is a confusion about where the Express line was and the regular queue, no problem I find the regular queue and sprint to the door. WE'RE IN!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Well, it was more like Hurry up and Wait. It took like forEVER for the show to start. I think I was about to barbecue those darned snoring pigs before the show got started. (you'll understand this once you see it!)

Afterward our show the line to get in was very long and crazy. But thank GOD FOR THAT!! The rest of the park beside Jimmy Neutron had about a 5 minute wait! I had to ask if Jaws was open it was so quiet. It's great to get Shrek over with and do the rest of the park in peace!

We went back up to the front of the park about 10am and the pandemonium in Production Central was incredible. The lines for the express passes were almost as long as the ride lines! I guess some people do not READ these boards! :p

Today I meet up with my Partner in Crime and I have the Express Pass I bought for $20. I don't know how the line will be for Shrek but we'll try anyway... I know, masochism!

I'll let you know! :teeth:

Robin, I can't read between the lines. Did you like it?

Yesterday, I have to admit, I really didn't like it. Then again, it was EARLY in the morning and we were sitting way in the back and to the left )NEVER let a ten year old lead you into the theatre... ).

But today we sat in the 4th row in the middle and WOW what a difference!! We got in about 10:30am and the audience was way alive and much more fun. These things really make a difference in this show.

The film is hilarious especially if you catch the cute little innuendos and the wit. Very comparable to the movie.

So the rest of us will know (esp. if we don't get there first thing...), how will we know which is regular line vs. express line?

The Express line will have a Universal Express sign over it. You can't miss it.

I don't know how this theater is laid out, but what they need to do is...

Make two lines load from the back of the theater, walking down the sides, pick a row, then go all the way to the middle. That way, people who get there first get the best seats.

Otherwise, you gotta let a bunch of people go past so they fill in the row first.

Did you ever do Hitchcock, robvia? Same layout, same doors, etc. Terminator is the same way.

Gotta admit I didn't like Shrek the first time I saw it either. I was in the perfect seat (middle row, middle seat), however I had waited over an hour for this ride and my expectations were much higher. I didn't REALLY know what to expect, but still I felt let down. The second and third time I did it I didn't want to, but my parents did and we got express passes. Those two times I enjoyed it. Especially when the people next to me are really getting into it and cracking up and freaking out and all. So, now I like it.

I would NOT wait in a long line for this line. Over 15 minutes..forget it. I'll only do it if it's Express unless I'm taking someone who has never been on it.

It IS funny though...just not my favorite :)

The Express line is to the left of the regular queue. The confusion on my first day was that there were so many people running and the workers were standing in the way.... remember it was EARLY! :teeth:

Just back from my trip and thought I'd chime in. I saw Jimmy Neutron & Shrek back to back and I have to say I enjoyed Jimmy Neutron more. To me, Shrek was just okay. It was better the 2nd time but I guess I'd built up my expectations and I was a little disappointed. If I'd had to stand in line for more than 10 minutes I'd have been double disappointed.

I know what you mean by wanting to BBQ the pigs! We were standing right under their boxes waiting for the show to load. It did seem like it took forever.
