Hi All,

Finally got myself round to posting something since I got back last week, which is one of the main reasons why me and trip reports don't mix too well, never seem to have the time to type the darn things up and upload all the photo's.

After 16 nights in the best place on earth I thought I would share some of my views on the trip.

Hi's
Virgin PE, my very first time flying with Virgin and my first time going for PE and I absolutely loved it, was very wary of spending the money but I did truly believe that I got value for money when taking into account all the little extras like getting bags first, the use of a different queue to check in at DTD etc. Might have been a one off but definitely the best flight experience I've ever had.
HRH - 16 nights at the HRH and it was bliss, never stayed in a hotel before as I've always done Villa's as there's normally been more than just the two of us. This hotel is fantastic and everything I hoped it would have been.
Weather - can anyone say heat wave, sweet baby jesus and the orphans it was hot the whole time we were there pretty much low 90's the entire time, plus hardly a drop of rain (it only rained twice)
FOTL - although the queues at US and IOA were pretty small it was still nice to use the room key to get a walk on for nearly every single ride
Shopping - Finally found a shop that sells affliction t-shirts so I was a very happy panda
Miami - Booked the florida dolphin tour to Miami/Everglades and it was a wonderful day out and nice to see the city I see so much of on TV, plus the tour giude was awesome
Jet Skiing - went to the lake bryan jet ski place and had the best hour of my life on that little floating bucket of speed, so much fun and definitely on the cards for next year
Food - Don't think I had one disappointing meal the whole time I was there and only a couple of places where the service was sub-standard
CityWalk - Being so close to CityWalk it was nice to be able to have a few drinks and hit a couple of the clubs specifically the rising star which is just brilliant when they have the live band on stage.
Wet n Wild - wasn't particularly looking forward to this but I loved it, definitely a pleasant surprise.
The location - being a walking distance to US and IOA and close to I-Drive and shops we only had to fill the car once, only spent $25 on gas the whole trip which is a first for me

Lows
Although the HRH was fantastic it was let down slightly by the 18% service charge at the pool bar that was placed on everything, we would have loved to have spent a few nights there having some cocktails and soaking up the atmposphere but the price spoiled that slightly - $30+ for 2 cocktails was a bit steep
Getting a cold - 2 days in and yours truly starts getting a sore throat, 3 days in and it's a full blown cold, still have it now although I think the current one is more like round 2
Typhoon Lagoon - First time I visited here as I wanted to see what it was like and I now know that it's the worst water park in Orlando in my own personal opinion. This doesn't mean that it's a terrible place but just that I prefer the others
School day trips - holey moley they were everywhere

I am trying to motivate myself to write a full blown report but it's 50/50 at the moment :rolleyes1

Sounds like you had a great time - welcome home.:goodvibes

That is one problem with May-school trips, we only noticed impact at IOA (appeals to Teens more I suppose).:scared1:

Welcome home glad you had a great time. :goodvibes If the prices aren't to steep and we can afford upgrade I may consider PE for our next trip.

Welcome back, I'm glad that you had a good time and that there were more highs than lows! :)

Go on!! You know you want to write a full blown report!! (and you know we'd definitely like to read one!) :thumbsup2

You've set the ground lovely there for a trip report - and we are all looking forward to it.
Why not think about doing something like Custardtart did and do an A-Z with more pics than writing - that way you dont have to spen forever doing it and we get to see your pics :thumbsup2

I agree about the school trips in May as well - we have been twice at this time of year and always seemed to get caught up in them

Pleased you had a lovely time. We stay onsite at Universal and love it, our favourite hotel is the HRH. FOTL in July is heaven sent but went in December as well last year and we didn't need them.

Universal wasn't that crowded the times we went, Seaworld we noticed a lot of school groups and disney was just really busy in general.

I guess I'll try and pull myself together and start a trip report, it is the bank holiday after all
