Finally Got A Discount - Here's What I Did

After calling three or four times and being told I have no pin, I called today to check again. As the CM was searching I politely mentioned that I had my fingers crossed for the 40% off discount. He asked me if I was flexible with my travel dates and I said that regretfully I was not and that the only dates that would work were 8/13-8/21. He could see that I had a reservation for AKL for those dates and explained that I had a room discount on the first two nights but that the rest of the nights were at rack rate. He then went on to say that I had plenty of time to wait for a discount to come out and apply it to my trip. I nicely responded that we wouldn't be able to book plane tickets until we knew what the Disney portion would cost and that we might miss out simply due to timing. By this time he had determined that I did have the 40% off pin attached to my name!

Don't really know where the mysterious pin came from since I've been polling my email and other mail obsessively, but I'm glad it's final. Hope this helps anyone trying to figure out how to obtain one of those slippery pins!

just wondering did the CM give you the pin code # or just apply it to your res? I ask as we booked threw a TA and would need the number to give her to apply it to our res.'

Good question. He didn't offer the number and I didn't think to ask for it. He told me it was 40% off the room rate for the entire stay. I've done so much number crunching that I knew the percentage was correct.
