FINALLY FL residents can make monthly payments!

I do have a question for Cheshire Figment though. Since this is not optional to renew an AP when exactly would an AP no longer be valid for renewal and a brand new AP would be considered a new one? I hope you understand what I am asking? Thanks as always for your info

dusty, I was wondering the same thing. I still have my Give a Day ticket. I'm dying to find out if I can use it as the down payment!

Well if it is online only then the answer would be NO because we need to bring our "free pass" to the gate to use it.
But if the info posted above by Cheshire Figment is correct then I dont understand why not for 2 reasons:
#1 - "The down payment may be made using cash, a gift card, hotel charge, or any other method currently allowed for ticket purchases"
#2 - For various reasons it is much easier to do the purchase online rather than at a window. However, they can be purchased at any WDW Park ticket window (including TTC, water parks and DQ) or any Park (or DTD) Guest Relations Office.

Which is why I would really like to know where this info was found? Was it on the official Disney site??

And FYI I was given a different phone number to call about this and it has been busy for hours!!

I just talked to 4 people, and they all said it was an online program only FOR NOW, but they could not say when it would be available at guest relations at the parks. For the online only scenerio, they said you could not use your Give a Day.

So what are the options? We could wait until they make it available to buy at the park, and then see if we can use the Give a Day, or buy the AP online and use the Give a Day for front of the line passes.

I need to think about it, but I am going to wait a few more days to see if any further info comes out about buying it at the park.

Do the passes have to be pain in full before they are able to use them? or can you start to sue them after down payment?

Thank you for the link again :) I have read that page up, down, sideways and backwards but have yet to find any of the info Cheshire Figment posted.

We have a little time to play with as our trip is not planned until July 17th so I will just cross my fingers more will be know at that time. Thanks :)

Well I can only give my interpretation so maybe we can figure it out together
(Disclaimer I am not like Cheshire Figment who is a CM and works at Tickets)
I am a Disser citizen like everybody else, I only started a thread when I got a newsletter email about it..so....here's what I THINK if you read all the way down it said you can upgrade so again IMHO maybe there's going to be a place where you put your GAD voucher in ...just a guess

As far as when can you use them, well think of it as a purchase with your credit card...use the item right away (or when you first take your E receipt to Guest Services for the actual physical AP) then it is valid for 365 days from the date its activated for lack of a more knowledgable term (not after you finished paying for it) Again just my interpretation

as far as your ? about the info Cheshire Figment posted...have no idea...I'm not a CM but I don't see it either...don't think its there

Does anyone know why they don't offer this to everyone who wants an annual pass, regardless of where they live? I mean FL residents are not any less likely to reneg on payments or scam as any other state's residents...

They may test it out on FL residents then open it to all. I have noticed that with Disney, they usually do something for the residents then open to general population

Yup I think we are going to just all have to work together and piece together info :)
Either way, I thank you SO much for even posting this - you really turned my day around

True, true... but someone said that CA has had payment plan for quite a while now and hasn't opened it up... oh well, I'm not going to let it bother me. We don't live in FL, nor do we get an AP. LOL!!

*not my business, moving along now* ;)

The GAD is worth too much to apply to the AP for us to give that up for this year......

:cloud9: I wish DVC folks could take part in this. I can dream can't I.

Oh, I really disagree. Just think of how tempting it would be for someone who was planning to go on a long trip, or two trips in one season. Pay only the first 1-3 installments and then just stop, because you're not planning on using it anymore? Normally that family would be buying 10 day tickets at a cost of somewhere between $350 and 500 per, while the cost of an annual pass is only $520. If you only pay for 3 installments on the AP you can get away with murder at $130 each -- only pay one payment and you're stealing it for $43: less than one day's admission.

If you live in Florida you are much more likely to actually make time to visit and use the pass throughout the year, as opposed to only once or twice. It makes perfect sense to me that they are restricting it this way. I can see perhaps also granting to DVC members, but not beyond that.

Answers to several questions, in no particular order.

1. I got this information in training for ticket sellers and Guest Relations a few weeks ago.

2. At the current time it is available online only. There is currently no target date available for at-Park sales.

3. When at-Park sales take place we will be able to do upgrades from any MYW ticket, including the GAD tickets. The value of the ticket being upgraded from will be the amount of the down payment.

4. I do not know about upgrading from one level of AP to another during the period as the expiration date of the pass upgraded to would be less than a year.

I hope that Disney will make this possible for everyone, or at least to DVC members. It would make it much easier for me to pay monthly for my AP. Stretching the disability payment to cover a $400 AP is harder than breaking it up over 12 months. And I think they will offer it eventually to DVC members since we have the real estate interest that makes us frequent visitors.
I had an AP at Universal for 2 years. I didn't pay for it over 12 months, they broke it down to a 10 month payment plan which was still ok. I don't go over to Uni as often as I go to WDW, maybe once ever other year for 2 or 3 days compared to 2-3 week vacations to WDW. But when I had my AP I did go over for a few hours every day or so, alot more than I do with only a day ticket and with food and stuff I wound up spending alot more overall than I do when I just visit for the day and keep it cheap.
