Finally Finished - Trip Report - WDWers at Disneyland (June 10 - 18 with pictures)

You can tell it's getting later in our trip because I have fewer pictures :) In fact, I only have a very few from DSN's birthday day - and they aren't until later in the day. But I'm not there yet, so back to DCA.

After getting DSN's birthday fun card, we headed up to Paradise Pier. Our intent was to finish up everything we wanted to do at DCA so we could spend the whole day Wednesday at DL. DH and I wanted to ride California Screaming and the Maliboomer (which I can't remember if I already posted this or not, but most of the week I thought it was the MAIL-boomer and it took me quite a while before it dawned on me that it was a play on words - Malibu-mer. The boys had no interest in either ride, so I thought they could do the Orange Stinger and the Golden Zephyr while we did our rides. But as we were walking up by Bug Land, they asked if they could do the rides there - so we gave them one of the cell phones and a meeting time/location and some suggestions of what to do to fill their time, and we split off.

DH and I walked through the Tortilla Factory on the way to Paradise Pier - mmmm... fresh warm flour tortillas.... and got to California Screaming which had a 20-minute line. It was about 10:45 then, so we decided to get FPs. Since I had all four of our tickets, I got four FPs. I told DH that way if we loved it, we could go again! Our return time was for 11:20.

So while we were waiting, we went over to the Maliboomer where it was a 15 minute wait. I was a little nervous about this ride, mostly about how to get on it - I was nearly too short to get up in the seat without a boost! But it was fine - and the ride was good - what a blast that first blast is - it really shoots you up fast - and then down about half-way and then it's time to open your eyes and stop screaming :) The view is great from up high, too.

After Maliboomer, we strolled through some of the shops on the Pier, scoping out t-shirts for the boys, and then on to California Screaming. I have to say this was my absolute most favorite ride of all time - not just at DCA, but of all the Disney parks (and other parks I've been to). Having the FPs, we zipped through the line and being a party-of-two let us skip ahead by about one load. From the first time I saw pictures of California Screaming, I knew I wanted to ride this coaster - and it was worth the wait - it was my favorite kind - long enough, swerves, a loop, some camel-backs, and long stretches. What a rush. And I felt so smart for having gotten a 2nd set of FPs. I had told DH during our first queue time that if we thought DSZ might like it, I would let DH and DSZ use the 2nd set of FPs -- but I loved the ride so much that I decided to use mine myself (LOL).

We found the boys longingly watching the various games on the Pier about 20 minutes earlier than our meeting time - they had done all four rides at Flik's Fun Fair, gone throught the Tortilla Factory for a snack, and ridden both the Golden (Silver) Zephyr and the Orange Stinger. We still needed to do Mulhollan Madness, so we got FPs for it for 40 mnutes later. DH found a bench nearby while the boys and I rode Jumpin' Jellyfish (which was actually pretty fun) and then the Zephyr again. We still had 20 minutes, so we searched for Hidden Mickeys nearby and then it was time for our ride.

I have to say that I do not care for these types of rides. I barely tolerate Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom only so my kids have adult supervision (but they are now old enough to do it themselves). I did not care for Mulhollan Madness, either - but it was better than Primeval Whirl because the seating was more comfortable.

We checked our list and saw we had completed everything we had written down as a must-do for us (we didn't want to do the Grizzly water one), so it was time to say goodbye to DCA. Because they are re-doing so much of DCA, we agreed tht once it's done, we'll have to make another trip to see the new DCA.

DSN wanted to eat lunch at Tortilla Jo's for his birthday, so we stopped by on the way back to the hotel. I think we all ended up ordering exactly what we'd ordered on our first night. I love their steak quesadillas - and at lunch, you get them plus rice/beans/salad for just a dollar more than if you get them at dinner with nothing. It was not busy and we had no wait. The service was excellent, too.

We went back to the hotel for a rest, but first we stopped at the gift shop to do our souvenir shopping. We got t-shirts for both the boys and then DSN found a Disneyland photo-history book that he wanted, so we added that along with a few postcards, pencils, the 2009 Disney bus (Matchbox - we've been collecting since 2002), and a few other odds and ends. Having the Fun Card was fun, and our overall souvenir budget wasn't busted.

We were back in the room having a rest by 2:30 - whew! I also called to make lunch reservations for the next day at the Carnation Cafe so we could use the dining vouchers from the wonderful family that had given them to us.

I had expected to find a birthday card and balloon for DSN when we got back to the room, but there was nothing. At WDW, they always send a card / balloon on the birthday when you've notified them at check-in (or on your reservation). I figured it was still early yet, so we'd see when we got back later in the evening what was up.

Next up - the rest of the birthday.

DSZ took a longer nap than the rest of us, so DSN and I headed back over to DL around 4 pm while DH stayed with DSZ at the hotel. We monorailed over to Tomorrowland and went over to Alice to see if we could get a picture of the Queen of Hearts (which didn't turn out). But this one of the birthday boy did:

DisneylandJune2009295.jpg

While waiting in line, we learned a new tip - wrap a cold drink bottle with a paper towel and then with aluminum foil to keep your drink cold all day! It's interesting the things you learn just by talking to people in line!

DH and DSZ called to say they were on their way, so we met them over at Casey Jr. There is a nice seating area there that wasn't busy, so it was a good place to meet up. About the only memory DSN has of our trip 10 yrs ago was riding on Casey Jr., so the boys rode for "old times sake." While they were riding, I walked over to Peter Pan to get Fast Passes... only to find out that Peter Pan at DL is not a fast pass attraction. Oops.

DSN wanted to ride the carousel, but DSZ didn't want to. So DSN went to ride it, but I just couldn't let the boy ride the carousel all by himself on his birthday! So I went with him - I like carousels anyway, so it was fun to ride. Then we headed over to Pinocchio so we could try to find the two hidden mickeys that we hadn't been able to find previously -- we did this time - the best is the one on the ship at the end.

Our intent for the evening was to see Fantasmic, but we still had a lot of time, so we picked up four FPs for Big Thunder with a 7:40 return time, and then went to Jungle Cruise. We love this ride in Florida at night, and it was fun in California as it was getting dusky, too.

We chatted with a couple of Cast Members about Fantasmic viewing and found that they had added a third show the night before just to handle the crowds, and they were adding a third one for this night, too. But it was just 6:15 and most of the viewing area was already filled ... and the CM said it was that way the night before as well. The thing is that even with all the people already waiting for Fantasmic, the lines for the attractions weren't any shorter.

DSN and I got some popcorn and then we all went into the Golden Horseshoe where DH and DSZ got sundaes that looked so good. We sat inside for 45 minutes or so. Then we went to one of the shops by Fronteirland restroom and there is a Woody marionnette that for a quarter you can make it dance. That was pretty fun.

Time for Big Thunder, so DH and I found a bench and gave the boys all four FPs. While we were watching, we saw DSN fly by --- running to the restroom -- he had gotten through the queue and just couldn't wait - so he hopped through the train. DSZ did the ride, and the CM nicely gave him a return pass so he and DSN could go again. So after DSN came back, they rode twice more.

We left after Big Thunder and stopped to feed DH's Wetzel's Pretzels addiction on the way back to the hotel. We were in the room and settled for bed by 9 p.m.

But when we returned to the room, I was still expecting to see the birthday balloon / card from Mickey - but no such luck. I called the front desk to ask about it, but the CM rudely told me that they don't do that. I told her I was only asking because the CM at check-in asked me the same kinds of questions they do in Florida when you have a birthday celebration. Now I know that with the whole What are you Celebrating thing that it would be a lot of work / balloons, but I have to say this was our biggest disappointment. Which you have to admit says a lot about how GREAT our trip was if the lack of a birthday balloon was our biggest disappointment :)

Next up - last day in the parks....

Just found your trip report and am really enjoying it. You had some very special moments. I would love to ride in Lilly Belle! Don't you love how walkable everything is in CA? :cool1: Keep up the great work!

When we were deciding what type of ticketing to purchase, we had considered the buy 4 get 6 days, but ended up with the buy 3 get 5, thinking that would be plenty of time for us to see and do everything we wanted to see and do. But when we woke up on Wednesday morning, we weren't sure that we'd be able to actually do that on this, our 5th day!

We walked to DL as the monorail wasn't running from DTD yet and the CM said they weren't sure when it would begin that morning. They had been having some trouble on Tuesday with the ticket readers. So we hiked.

Our number one goal for the day was Finding Nemo - we knew we had to queue FAST to make it. We stopped briefly at Space Mountain to get FPs as we were walking by it (actually, I went up to get the FPs while DH and the boys continued on to queue for Finding Nemo). I caught up with them and it was a 20-minute wait. As we were in line, DSN had to go to the restroom, so he raced up to the one by Autopia - he had plenty of time to make it back and get back in the queue with us.

The Finding Nemo ride is a 15 minute ride. They have 8 subs, but were running 5 or 6 most of the time. A good portion of the queue is because of how long it takes to load and unload the subs. They seat up to 40 per sub. We got some good pictures from below... the water was so clear and looked so cool and refreshing.... and even though it's all Disney-made, it was still kinda cool. We had done a similar sub-catamaran thing in Grand Cayman once, so while we knew we wouldn't see real fish, etc., it was kinda cool.

Here are some pictures:

We're glad we did the Finding Nemo ride, but it's not something we would do again.

It wasn't time for our Space Mountain FPs, so we walked on at AstroBlasters. DH won AGAIN, so he is the reigning champion for the family.

DSN didn't want to do Space Mountain, so DH and DSZ went ahead while DSN and I poked around a shop and then sat outside Redd's to wait for the others. DSN mapped out what we needed to do still to finish up everything we wanted to do while we waited. Then DSZ and I went on Space Mountain - and again, I loved it!

We then headed up to Fantasyland for the Tea Cups:

DisneylandJune2009308.jpg

DH doesn't do spinning rides, so I rode with the boys. We liked that this one is outside while the one in Florida is covered, but we did miss the mouse popping out of the tea pot! There was no wait, so that was even better.

We walked onto It's a Small World for a chance to see if we had spied all the added "Disney friends" -- we think we did because we didn't see anyone else than we had seen on Thursday.

The boys wanted to be sure to do Big Thunder again today, so we went to get FPs and then rode the Riverboat around. This is a great way to get a different perspective of the area and even spy some tributes to DL's past:

DisneylandJune2009336.jpg

Our lunch reservations were for 11:50, so we had some time to kill, so we stopped in at the Golden Horseshoe where it was just about time for the show to start. We saw the one with the sheriff and his daughter... it was funny and the boys loved it.

We went over a bit early to the Carnation Cafe for lunch - we weren't sure if they would seat us early or not - but they did. This is actually a pretty good place for lunch - it's outdoors, but it doesn't feel that way - of course we were off to the side, so it didn't feel quite so busy. There was a nice set of grandparents along with their grandson who was about three who was with them sitting next to us.

DH got the meatlof, I had the steak sandwich, and DSZ had the kids mac/cheese. There wasn't anything DSN would eat from the menu, so here's what he had instead:

DisneylandJune2009339.jpg

(and yes, if you're counting, this is the 2nd day that DSN had ice cream for lunch!... But hey - there's fruit in this one!)

We used the table service lunch vouchers for our meal, and then we gave the child one that we had leftover to the people sitting next to us - so that saved them $19 off their bill. We also asked if they might be able to use the Goofy's Kitchen child one - and they said they had taken all their other grandchildren there and were hoping to take this one on this trip - so yes, they were glad to accept! We told them how someone else had given us their leftover vouchers so we wanted to make sure we found someone who could use what we couldn't! So that one wonderfully kind gesture by the family in the elevator that morning spread cheer and happiness beyond what they imagined! Yay!

After lunch, we walked through the Emporium which I love how it's set up a bit like "shops" inside, especially coming in from the Carnation Cafe side. I had been eyeing a purse instead of a t-shirt, so I got it while we were there. By this time, we were about ready to go back to the hotel, but none of us wanted to walk, so DSZ came up with a brilliant plan - we were already at Main Street, so take the train to the Tomorrowland Station, hop on the monorail, and then we'd only have a 5 minute walk back to the room! Sometimes that child's laziness pays off :) We weren't concerned about getting back to the room fast - we just didn't want to walk :) So we were back at the room by 1:45 for a rest.

I used our rest time to start packing for our return trip home. This is when I'm glad the room was small because there wasn't room for our stuff to get scattered!

The DVC Member Celebration was at 5 p.m. so we thought we'd go and see if they had any snacks or at least some drinks. They had bottled water so that was ok - we saved ours so we'd have them for Thursday. We didn't win anything but they were giving out hats - only they ran out before we could get ours. They said to just stop by and ask at the center.

We went back over to DL by way of the monorail and had dinner at the Village Haus. Then we picked up four more FPs for Big Thunder so the boys could ride to their hearts content.

We went on the Haunted Mansion twice as DSZ wanted to show me the hidden mickey he found, and then I rode with DH the second time to show DH - although we didn't see it the second time, but it was clear the first time through.

Next stop - Big Thunder Mountain quest -- two boys, eight FPs.... and as we were at the entrance for the boys to go in, the CM (Cameron) recognized them from yesterday and spoke to them (he asked them if they had been to the restroom before queuing). I talked to him for a few minutes and he was telling me how polite they were and how they had handled the situation the night before when DSN had to use the restroom. And while the boys were in line, he gave me four more FPs for them to use!

After the first ride, DSN felt like he couldn't do any more, so I ended up riding four times with DSZ and we gave the other set of FPs to someone else. I hated that DSN felt bad and had to miss his chance to ride his favorite ride, but I also didn't want DSZ to have to go alone. Poor DH had to wait an hour for us to get done riding.

Unfortunately the riding took so long that we were too late to go back to the Golden Horseshoe for DH to get the ice cream sundae he wanted. Oh well.

We left DL just before the fireworks were starting, but we discovered that the area between Tortilla Jo's and the House of Blues is a great place to watch the fireworks if you just want to see fireworks. And of course we had stopped at Wetzel's Pretzels along the way. DSZ ventured off the tried and true path and got a frozen cherry lemonade instead of a pretzel.

And thus ends our time in the parks. We were back in the room and ready for bed by 9:45.

Tomorrow - how to spend a day while waiting for your redeye flight home.

When we checked in, I asked about what to do to get a late check-out -- they said to call the day before, so I did, but then was told to call at 7 a.m. the morning of check-out to see if we could have a late check-out. I was really hopeful that we would be able to have a late check-out since we were leaving on a Thursday. So I woke up on Thursday morning a bit before 7 a.m. and called right on time - but alas, no late check-out available for us. Oh well. I did go back to sleep and because we'd done most of the packing the night before, we all slept in til abuot 9:30 (check out is at 11 a.m.). We finished packing and just watched t.v. hanging out til about 10:45.

Our flight was scheduled for 9:45 p.m. so we wanted to get the 7 p.m. Disneyland Resort Express back to SNA, so we had about 8 hours to fill. We used express check-out, so we called to say we were leaving the room, and then we took our bags to bell services to leave for the day. We stopped by Guest Services to see if we could check in for our flight home - but alas, just as we experienced for the trip out, we couldn't.

We also had found a toy train engine (Spencer) in our room earlier in the week, so we dropped that off with Guest Services as well and asked if they could try to find out who might have left it. I sure hope they followed through and got it returned. It had been up behind the curtain in the track of the sliding door.

We had not had breakfast, so we wanted to get some lunch. We talked about a few options but for one reason or another, we nixed each of them. We finally just sat down on a bench in Downtown Disney until we could come up with a plan.... and as luck would have it, we were right outside Tortilla Jo's :) We really needed all of us to have a good meal, especially Mr. Ice Cream for Lunch boy - so this was a good choice. The greeter was a bit snooty when he was seating us and I had asked for kids' menus - he gave them to us but told us we wouldn't be able to order off them. (Never mind that it had not been a problem on either of our previous visits - and at $8/plate for kid-meals, that's a bit steep). DH and I split nachos and the boys had their usual. Our server was fabulous.

We had planned to see the movie UP at the AMC Theater - the boys and I had seen it, but DH hadn't. But we still had an hour before it started. But Imagine That (Eddie Murphy) started in about 15 minutes, so we saw that instead. It was good, and we all enjoyed it. The theater is really nice, too. And you can buy your tickets at the kiosk which is cool.

After the movie, we walked back over to the DVC preview center so DH and the boys could get their hats. While we were there, we toured the model again, and in talking to the operations guy who showed us around, DH asked about incentives or pricing for add-ons, etc. Suffice it to say that we met with Sergio again and ended up adding on 100 points -- DH's hat suddenly got pretty expensive! The boys played in the kid-room (video games, etc.) while DH and I met with Sergio and took care of paperwork. We got some snacks, too :)

It was nearing 4 pm by then and I remembered that UP started at 4, so we went back to the AMC and saw it. The AMC is located on the end of Downtown Disney nearest the Disneyland Hotel, so it's about a five minute walk. After the movie, DSN asked if we could get beignets again, so we went up to Ralph Brennan's to get a bag for the boys.

It was about 6:30, so we went to get our bags from bell services and then wait for the bus. The bus was on time and we arrived at the airport at 7:20. We couldn't check in at the kiosk, so we had an agent help us. When she asked how many bags we were checking, I told her two. When she swiped my credit card, she told me that was $40 -- I was expecting it to be $30 - so I asked why -- turns out she put both bags under my name instead of one for me and one for DH -- so it's really important to be clear when telling them what bags you have that you have ONE per person! She got that straightened out and gave me the receipts. I happened to look at them and noticed that one wasn't our name / flight info -- she had put someone else's baggage tag on our bag -- and it would've been left in Atlanta! Yikes!

She got that straightened out (fortunately our bag had not yet been tossed on the belt) and she ended up just waiving the fee for the second bag. Whew. Going through security was uneventful although my ID was scrutinized quite a bit more than DH's because I have an older version of our state's driver license. We got to the gate and then got some food from McD's - holy cow - it was $2.29 for a single cheeseburger - they really gouge you once you're through security in an airport! While waiting for the flight, we made a list of what we liked better in CA vs FL for the attractions that were the same/similar - I'll share those in a follow-up post.

Our flight left on time and we were in ATL in under 4 hours. The movies on the flight home were free, but DH's in-flight entertainment didn't work. boo for him because he was wanting to watch a movie - but he didn't tell me - I would've switched seats and slept. The boys watched movies, too, and then we all did doze off for a short while. The ATL airport was EMPTY - as it should be when it's not barely 5 a.m. We picked up some juice and went to our gate (same concourse - that was nice) and found some seats without armrests and the kids laid down and went back to sleep for 1 1/2 hours. Our flight the rest of the way home was delayed leaving because we needed to take a mechanic to JAX, but we still arrived on time. Our luggage was some of the first off the plane so we were back to our car in no time - and heading home. Our California Disney vacation was done!

Excellent report!! It was great hearing a WDW vet's perspective on DLR. :thumbsup2

Now for the comparison part -- California vs. Florida! As I've mentioned throughout the report, there were some things were really enjoyed more in CA and others we liked better in FL. I'll try to sum it up here with an explanation.

Attractions:

Muppets 3-D -- 4 votes for CA. Quality of the film is better in CA so the 3-D effects are better.

Train -- 2 votes FL, 1 vote CA, 1 vote tie. I don't like going through the tunnel in CA. And we prefer sitting forward facing on the train. And you can be a guest conductor on the back of the trains in FL.

Tiki Room: 1 FL, 2 CA, 1 tie. The CA's were from the adults - we like the classic original better than the other one. The FL vote was from DSZ who likes the birds from Aladdin and Lion King.

Jungle Cruise: 1 CA, 1 FL, 2 tie. I liked the addition of the pirahna.

Pirates: 4 votes CA.

Haunted Mansion: 1 CA, 1 tie, 2 FL. The FL ones were from the adults - we like the staircase room. Although there were things we like better in CA - like the way the line queues and the traffic flows from the stretching room to where you board the doombuggy.

Big Thunder: 4 votes CA. The ride is better, the theming better, the queue is better.

Splash Mountain: 1 vote FL, 1 vote tie, 2 didn't ride. The FL was from DSZ and I don't remember why.

Pooh - 1 FL, 1 CA, two tie. I like the ride vehicles better and the 3-minute wait better than FL's 30+ minute wait :)

Space Mountain: 3 for CA, 1 can't vote because he hasn't done it in FL. Better ride vehicles, has music.

Autopia / Indy Speedway: 4 votes for CA. Ability for FPs makes this one doable for us in CA while we won't wait long in FL for it. Also the vehicles were more "fun" and the "off-road" portion was a nice surprise.

Buzz Lightyear: 4 votes for CA. The ability to have control over the blaster made this one a more fun ride and each person in the vehicle could shoot at what they wanted, not just where the "driver" spun you around to.

Monorail: 3 for CA, 1 tie. It didn't smell bad :)

Teacups: 2 FL, 1 CA, one couldn't vote since he didn't ride in CA. FL has more complete "theming" and is covered rather than in the sun as much.

Carousel: 2 ties, two couldn't vote because they didn't ride in CA.

Small World: 3 for CA, 1 tie. We liked the addition of the "Disney friends" and the way the ride is off by itself and not just crammed in with other things like it feels in FL.

Soarin' -- 2 for FL, 2 for a tie. The adults picked the tie - mostly because it's fun to do it in CA over CA.

Castle: 1 tie, 1 CA, 2 FL. Sorry DL fans - but Cinderella Castle is just more magnificent (in the opinions of the adults) than Sleeping Beauty Castle which just seems squat. Although we loved the walk through diorama.

Tree House: 1 boy voted CA, 1 boy voted FL. Adults abstained since we didn't go up this trip. 1 boy is more of a Tarzan fan while the other loves the Swiss Family Robinson.

Toy Story: 3 votes tie, 1 vote FL - that was me voting for FL - and it all has to do with the queue line.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience - 3 tie, 1 CA. The three ties are all because we hate this attraction equally in CA and FL :)

Other things: We liked the crowd control / traffic flow coordination so much better in CA than what we've experienced in FL for fireworks and special events. We like Fantasmic in FL being in a stadium situation while in CA it was really confusing - DL just really doesn't have the space for it for people to queue up and wait like they do.

Restrooms are so much better in FL -- in FL we rarely encounter a restroom in need of attention - in CA it seemed that the ONLY restroom we encountered that didn't need attention was the one by Wetzel's Pretzels in Downtown Disney -- there were a few times that the boys went in and came right back out saying they couldn't use the restroom in DL -- we had to go find another one. I'm also spoiled because in FL they could build bigger restrooms than they have in DL from the 1950s :) I was totally taken by surprise by how small the restroom was by City Hall in CA - because the one in FL is so big. Although i will say I loved that the one by Alice / Matterhorn had the cards on the doors of the stalls :)

We liked that the CMs in CA were not afraid to tell a guest when they were doing something wrong or out of compliance. We didn't encounter guests smoking outside of the designated smoking areas in CA like we often do in FL. I know I mentioned that the CM collected the Toy Story 3D glasses from the teens who had them in the line for Mickey's Fun Wheel. In FL, they wouldn't have said a word.

Over all, I would have to say that each resort has it's own unique qualities and there are plenty of things we absolutely loved about CA and there are plenty of things we absolutely love about FL. I can't say that I like one better than the other. And I love that I don't have to!

Thanks so much for reading along -- it has taken me longer to post this trip report than any other one I've done.

If you have any questions or whatever, please feel free to post or PM. Thanks for letting me relive our vacation - we truly had a magical time!

Fun report! Thank you for taking the time to post. We are DVC vets and went last summer to DL for our first visit. We liked it so much we are returning this December. It was great to pick up tips from your posts.

BTW - why would ice cream for lunch be a problem ???? :goodvibes

TK

Thanks for the comparisons. I agree with you on most of the ones that I've been on at both.

LOL TK - that's exactly what DSN kept asking me :) Hope you all have a great trip in December! Are you staying at the Grand?

Cindy,
I just enjoyed your delightful report all in one go. You were so thorough in your descriptions that there's little I could possibly add except that I know why the lobbies of the Grand Californian, Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge all come to mind at the same time--the same architect. He did such a fabulous job on WL, he was invited to do the other two.
I live just about as close to Disneyland as WDW (in Oklahoma) and when my husband was alive we had the custom of going to each park, each year. Now I manage to get to one or the other each year, but don't think I'll ever just choose one Disney place over the other. As you observed, they each have their unique charm. Now that you've posted your excellent report if you should find you have some time on your hands I invite you to take a look at my Disneyland 2008 report and photos linked below.
Thanks for taking us all along on your trip. Best wishes, Susan

This was a wonderful report. I just sat here and read the whole thing. I've never been to Disneyland and this just makes me want to go even more.

Hopefully I'll get out there at some point. I just need to save my pennies.

I loved your trip reports you had so many details that I didn't even know about as a experienced Disneylander. We havnt been to WDW yet but when our annual passes for DL run out our next trip will be to WDW! We have some friends that have been to both many times and always talk about how much better WDW is so it is nice to hear our little Disneyland has just as much magic. :goodvibes Im so glad you guys had such a good time, and that you are planning on coming back to see the remodeled DCA!
