ok I can't figure out how to post pictures. Can someone help me out with this? I feel so dumb:blush:

Awesome!:thumbsup2
From One Grumpychick! LOL!

Looks great! We are starting ours tomorrow. Read that you had a few bumps in the road.....any advice?

Your post looks great, thanks for sharing! Also, a second request for advice on any of the problems you ran into, if there are some easy ways to avoid them we'd like to know about them! Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for the kind words! The best advice I can give is check out the directions posted. I think we used 3 in pvc and had issues finding a reducer to fit into the globe fitter. And the second issue was finding a 12 in globe, had to order it from home depot along with the globe fitter. So I would say save yourself the trips to the hardware stores and just go ahead and order it online. it only took a couple of days to recieve it.
Don't know if I was much help but good luck to you and post a pic when you complete it!
If I was to make another I would probably use 2 inch for the whole thing
Oh and the folks who tried to help me in the stores thought I was crazy :confused3 Guess they just don't know us Disnuts huh?

I will be displaying it on Monday afternoon!!!!
Can't wait

I just finished mine this weekend (with help from my niece!)

I'll add that in addition to ordering the 12" globe and globe fitter, go ahead and order the ears too. I thought I had seen ears at my local store, but when I went to pick them up after my order arrived - I discovered they were glass and not acrylic as my 'head' was.

Also, I didn't know what a fitter (or coupler) looked like. This fit inside the globe fitter and slipped ontop of the post. Seeing the picture in CDNcruisers directions (and with my DH help!) helped there.

Once it all came together, it wasn't hard to do.
