Everything looks great! I hope you have a great time.

Can you point me in the right direction for the candy wrappers in the first pic? TIA

Those are Telynn's character nuggets. There are tons of different characters and they are grouped by movie. They are here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1787936 . I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I found printing them on a paper a little thicker than regular copy paper helped make the heads stand up better.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. After I posted last night I realized there was a forgotten finished shirt, It is the Mickey head spiral. I will post it when I finish DH shirt, I also plan to post the tuxedo lifesavers, and maybe the passport.

There is a thread about doing a "solar flair" shirt. Originally it was based on a project from the Family Fun magazine, where you used flour and water to make a paste to out line a shape (spiral Mickey heads), let it dry and then use dye/ paint to color the area not masked off by the paste. Others said that you could use liquid glue instead of the paste but still use the dye or paste. Alot of people complained that the flour paste was hard to get off, it was too messy, or did not come off the way they wanted it to. Others said they had just as much trouble getting the glue to come off.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1112661 (this is the orginal post)

The more I thought about this, the more I thought is would be easier to just use the paper pattern and use the liquid spray paint. I just printed off one of the spiral head Disigns that was here, cut the actual design out and used the negative space (left over paper), taped it down well with masking tape, and sprayed it with the liquid paint in the squirt bottles.

The two problems I had with my experience were:
1. I chose to do it during the aftermath of tropical storm Faye, and the residual wind in our area was horrible. I was doing it outside and had a terrible time getting the shirt to lay flat. (I know I should have waited to do it another day. But. . . I wanted to do it then.- I am a child of the instant gratification error :rolleyes1 )
2. The spray paint tends to drip occassionally. There are three bigger, splotches of paint on the head. I am sure it does not bother anyone else, but it irritates me. There really is not a lot I could have done to prevent it and the fix would be to use a bleach pen to add more white space. However, then it becomes the cycle of too much white, add some more paint, too much paint, more bleach etc. etc. :headache: I just decided it was best to leave it for now.

Thanks for asking it was fun. Even though I am sure it does not sound like it.

Hi, Great job on all you have done. I am going to try my hand at the candy wrappers. Thanks for the tip on using heavier paper. Your shirts look professional. Can I ask what brand of shirts you used and where you purchased them? I am looking for a heavier weight t-shirt. I don't want my underclothing showing through.
Also what brand of transfer paper you used?
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice vacation!:thumbsup2

The transfer papers are both Avery light and dark (don't forget you have to flip your image if you use light). I know most people don't like the light transfer paper, but I perfer it since most of the shirts were white. It worked out well.

The shirts are various brands. DH is 6'4" and his shirts are from Casual Make XL because they have to be XL-tall. The label says CR. Most of my shirts are the Basic Edition (a K-Mart brand). I found them on sale this summer for $3.00 during our tax free weekend. They are pretty good quality. There are also a few of my shirts that are the Jersee shirts sold at Michaels.

I am very happy with the way they turned out. I will not wash them until we get back. I will have to let everyone know what happens to them when we get back.

Thanks for asking and thanks for everyones kind words.

WOW! Everything looks really great! Just wondering about where you got the people for the luggage tag or id that have the 2 people on it with a Mickey Icon on the shirts? Thanks and have a blast! We leave next Saturday!
