Day 5 Whatever it takes, Can we have a fun day please??!!
Toda we were heading to magic Kingdom again. Nobody but me saw any reason to get up early so we didnt get to the park until after opening again. We just wanted to do the stuff we didnt get to do Sunday with a few exceptions. The first thing we did was head to the barbershop. Our boys needed haircuts! Mulan had called Garren little princess at MGM so I was more than ready! We had a bit of a wait but there were only 4 people in front of us so it wasnt too bad. I looked around in the firehouse while DH waited with the boys inside. I came back and DH said he wanted coffee and I stayed so he could go to the bakery (which I didnt see inside of still) MIL went too and it took them forever. DH got back and Garren had already started his haircut. The barber had asked me how I wanted it cut but I had no clue. I just told him no buzz cut cuz I dont like those on little kids. He looked at me and asked how I wanted it cut?! I said shorter but not too short, like a boys. He said like his? I said sure. He then explained that a lot of time when Mom brings a little boy in for his first haircut, they want what he calls a Mommy Mullet. LOL! He told me that was short up front but keeping all the curls in the back. I said No, I want it short. No more princess comments for him thank you! Garren did well and had lots of stickers. Brenden did better but made some strange faces. DH took a lot of the pictures but I really have to teach him how to use the camera. A lot of the photos came out fuzzy. But the boys looked so handsome I didnt care!
MIL had bought some snacks at the bakery for us girls and bananas for the boys. They ate those while we shared two apple things. Alyson was eating one apple thing during the haircuts waiting outside and a little boy knocked it out of her arms and on the ground. She cried. The mom just looked up and saw the thing on the ground and then didnt say anything. Im glad I wasnt there to witness it or I would have been mad. The mother could have apologized at least or even offered to pay for it since her son did it and Alyson was staying still. But neither happened and nobody spoke up. I didnt find this out til we were walking down Main St.
We started out in Tomorrowland and did Buzz a few times and tried to do another ride but it was closed for technical problems. We did Philharmagic again. The whole clan was together this time until that moment. Uncle decided he didnt want to see it again. It started pouring and I sent the family into Its a Small World. I hung out with the strollers and kept them dry. It gave me some much-needed time away from the kids and time to plan what we were doing next. I wanted to go to Toontown and see the houses and meet some characters but we got there and Elizabeth was pouting and got into a big argument DH and MIL refused to help her which made her even more upset. She just wanted to go home now. DH and I were ready to let her too. Nothing anyone did made her happy. WE decided to take the train back to the entrance and just go to our PS at Whispering Canyon Café. Uncle wasnt sure if he was going to make it or just skip it but just after we got into the Wilderness lodge, he called and said he was at the ferry entrance getting on the boat over. WE had to wait for him to get there before we could sit. Elizabeth was still pouting and crying. If you talked to her, tears came pouring out no matter what we did. DH had another talk with her and she calmed down a bit.
Uncle arrived and we were seated right away. The place was not busy at all and they did not acknowledge the birthdays on our reservations but I didnt bring it up either cuz the look of horror on DHs Uncles face as he listened to other birthday announcements just told me to keep quiet. We tried a few of the tips from the board to get fun things to happen but the only thing we got were straws thrown on the table. Our waitress was a little laid back I guess. I even had the kids ask for a Large glass for their drinks but it was normal size, the next table over had some really large glasses. There were no horse races or really anything like that. We did play a round of If youre happy and You Know It but that was the most fun. Everyone ordered and DHs Aunt ordered just a dessert since they had eaten already. Uncle told her hed just have a bite of hers but after tasting it, he told her to order her own and ate it himself. She never did order it. I dont think she liked the different sweet tastes on it. The check came and it wasnt bad but the tip wasnt added on as they said it would be so I thought it was a good meal and nice waitress so I tipped a good 20% plus a little more.
As we went to leave, it was pouring. WE hung out in the lobby a little while but DH got sick of waiting so he told us the rain had stopped and it was time to go. None of us bothered to look out the window so when we got to the doors and it was still pouring we were shocked. We faced the rain and went to wait for the boat. I got mad at again because I didnt want to take a small boat back (we took one there and it made me very seasick) and the captain said it would be there in a few minutes. It was almost 20 minutes (or so it seemed) before the next boat. Thank goodness it was a big boat. My DH said we were taking the next one no matter what. We went back to Magic Kingdom and everyone seemed in a better mood. I dont remember what we did after that exactly but do remember being separated from DH and Uncle. I bought a Turkey leg for us to share and MIL bought 4 lemonades, one of which was dropped so we shared 3. We did a few rides after meeting back up with DH and went to Adventureland (??.) We did Pirates of the Caribbean where we went into the ride and ended up going the wrong way up the exit. Thats how short the line was. We were not the only ones though, about 20 other people were in front of and behind us. We went back and started in the right line. We got up there and went right on the ride. The boys and Alyson were bought guns by MIL afterwards. (I approved of them, I thought they were pretty cool and that it would be a good way to teach them about gun safety. Guns are a big thing in NH) I have no clue what Elizabeth got though. We left the park after that and went back to the rooms.
It was early and DH and I decided to do the Extra Magic hours at Epcot that were actually being done that night. WE left the boys with Katie again in our room, brought our tickets, and MIL took the girls to the Boardwalk. Mil was going to feed the girls dinner and bring some back for Katie. The boys had waffles for their dinner. We got to Epcot at 8 and went directly on Soarin. It was awesome. DH and I both loved it. I like being alone with him and having nothing slowing us down. I think we could have a lot of fun going back to WDW without the kids. We went on to Honey I Shrunk The Audience and over to Test Track. At Test Track the wait was about 60 minutes, or so the sign said but the line was out the door. We decided we would do the single riders line. We walked up right to the entrance and we were put in lines for cars within minutes. DH was at the first line and I was down on 6 or 7. I was with a family of 4 with another single rider. Just then it decided to pour down again outside and they had to stop the ride. A lot of people left including the nice lady that I was paired with and her DD. She was so nice to talk to but it seemed that almost everybody I met was from the New England area, most New York. Being that she left and we were still waiting, I got to have my DH with me on the ride. It was fun but neither of us was very impressed. It wasnt that fast and we liked that we did it once but knew we werent going to do it again this vacation.
Epcot was so much fun! DH and I talked about how well definitely have to bring someone else next time to watch the kids or come alone.
Sorry it took me so long! Life got in the way!
