Yeah a Crystal update. Love the pictures of the decorations for Halloween. I hope to go for halloween one day. We actually went in mid Oct in 97 but no halloween decorations. Maybe they didn't start doing halloween then or didn't do it at all, does anyone know when they started? I having my pictures taken with the characters. In fact when my boys didn't want to go I said I would go in their place.

Just home from working my first pirate & princess party- fun! Just wanted to let you know that the next update is about halfway finished, so that plus replies to your comments should be up tomorrow!

In super exciting news, Kelly, who was supposed to be at Disneyween, has booked a plane ticket to come visit in a month! Can't wait!

Crystal, good luck getting into town and settling in. I'm picturing you in Tomorrowland, being stalked by a bunch of rabid fans who want you to finish your TR.....I'm not saying I'll be one of them, but I can't deny it either.

P.S. Was the training for your job really cool...I mean like Disney traditions etc???????

We keep talking about making the move too. It comes up about every 6 months. There are lots of jobs at Disney my husband would be qualified for...he's an accountant/banker. I am a nurse however & not so many Disney jobs for me.....but I could work at Celebration hospital so that would be close.

Everyone should move to FL! (Preferably to my apartment complex, and listing me as a reference, so I get rent credit...rofl. The DIS could overtake the place, and such fun would be had!) I'm not sure about nurse jobs, but I would imagine they could use some at the first aid stations? Or at the cast health facility over at Epcot? If you're really interested in moving, there seems to be a job for almost anyone- there are so many positions you would never even imagine. You may have to go on a waiting list for it, though. Your husband might find something at the cast bank/credit union, too. (Um, if he does, have him hook me up with a loan! )

Job training was pretty fun. Half of one day was a tour of the MK- the sort of thing we DIS people would usually gladly pay for, and here I was getting *paid* to do it! Woot! I also had a great trainer for the tomorrowland part of my training- if you have the YOAMD vacation planning dvd, he's in the part about fastpass. It's people like him that make WDW awesome.

Oh and one question: What happened to Snape? Did you forget him? I have another theory... Alan Rickman FINALLY called you back and you had a sensational and steamy affair at WDW but couldn't tell any of us because he wanted to keep his private life private, and so there was no need for a tiny Snape doll being that you had the real thing. I know i'm right.

Poor Snape- he ended up staying in the suitcase most of the trip. He does live here now, though, so the next time I can get someone to go to Epcot with me, we'll do Snape Around the World pics! (Somehow, it feels a little less crazy if I don't do it solo )

I'll be looking for you in Tomorrowland in just two short weeks!

I can't tell you how awesome it is to have the Adv Club *across the street*. (It's a 4 mile drive, but it is literally across two streets.) Loves it!

My hair is just back to its usual reddish-brown-ness. Poverty had let it sink back into a very boring brown, and I just don't roll that way.


*Semi-Update*-- I'm off to clean the apartment now, and I'll be posting apt pics & an update to the blog later. I have job news! Woo! After that, I might run to Epcot (I'm craving a kaki gori!), but after that, I should be able to post the rest of Oct 30! I really want to get around to the 31st, since that was Halloween itself! (And the 1st, when I went to casting!)

Sadly, yes! I worked almost 14 hours yesterday! I'm off today, but I'm on my way to a dentist appointment to fix a filling that fell out on Friday! (How do such things ALWAYS happen on a Friday afternoon when nobody has openings?) I am planning to meet up with fellow Dis-er Kat Garcia at the Adv Club tonight, though! YAY!

I am REALLY sorry for the lack of updates, guys! My free time has been zero lately, though! Ask poor Katie, who got to see what the house of someone who works for Disney looks like!

I promise SOME kind of update soon!

I finally have a few minutes to finish up Oct 30! Hooray!

(On an up-to-date note, I have now officially transfered from Tomorrowland Speedway to All Star Music! I'm still in training, but if you're checking in soon, you may see me!)

When we left off, I was spending my morning at the MK!

I decided to wander over to Adventureland in search of a Dole Whip. I always seem to miss getting one, since I usually go to Adv land first thing in the morning, and Aloha Isle doesn't open till 11. Today worked out perfectly, though!

I recently had the pineapple/vanilla swirl version at the Poly, and I can't decide which I prefer!

It started raining just as I got my snack, so I found a covered awning to stand under and eat while I waited for the rain to stop.

After about ten minutes, the rain was gone- hooray! (I totally can't finish a whole Dole Whip, btw. I love them, but only in small quantity!)

I decided to head over to Frontierland, mostly because I never spend much time there. The thing is, there's not much to DO there... you've got Splash, which is one of my favorites, but I'm usually here in the winter, so it's usually too cold. I like Big Thunder, but my back isn't fond of it, so if I'm going to ride it, I try to save it for the last day of the trip so I won't be sore. Country Bears I like maybe once a year, or every other year and the Diamond Horseshoe I haven't been to since they changed it.

As usual, I didn't actually do anything in Frontierland, just wandered around soaking up the atmosphere, and taking a few pics:

By now it was nearly noon, so I decided I'd go on over to the Beach Club to check in, in hopes of getting a good room.

And I'm not sure at what point in the day I took this one...

... but who knew I'd be working in Tomorrowland just 2 months later? Crazy!

I took a bus over to the BC, and was amazed when I got there that my room was already ready. I had a really great CM at check-in, I wish I remembered his name so I could give him credit for being awesome!

When I got my room number, I was shocked- It was the SAME room I had back in January!!! I'm not sure if they knew I had this room before and gave it to me, or if the DVC owner I rented points from requested it for me, or if it was just really beautiful serindipity, but I was SO HAPPY.

When I got upstairs to the room, it really, truly felt like I'd come home. I'd been through SO much in the 9 months since I'd last been in this room, but I really felt like I'd come full circle. I'll confess that I cried. It was such a strong feeling of finally being back where I belong after such a difficult year.

After a quick rest, I decided I was starving and set off for the Boardwalk to grab a slice of pizza from the pizza window, and something yummy from the bakery.

On my way out, I saw this sign:

Yoga on the beach! Score!

The Boardwalk was being refurbished for my future enjoyment, and it was actually hard to find the door to the bakery! But my powers to seek out baked goods are legendary, so I finaly found my way in!

Giant Chocolate Cake Slice is a part of this nutritionally balanced lunch!


I now have to get some household stuff done, because Kellylou will be here in something like 75 hours, and I want to have as much time to devote to hanging out with her and having fun as possible! I am SO excited for her visit- she's the first person to visit me here, and it will also be the first time I really get to play in the parks like a guest since I've moved! (I hang out in the parks on my days off sometimes, but usually just for an hour or two, not riding anything.) I honestly don't expect to have time to do a trip report for Disneyween 2.0, but I will at least post the pictures to flickr, and probably share a few of the choice stories here!

Thank you guys for your patience! Hopefully I'll be better about updating now that I have a job that *doesn't* involve running around in the heat all day!
