I am soooo excited!! My first week on WISH and I broke through my plateau (or perceived plateau anyway) and got my 5 pound clippie to boot!!!!
Last week I weighed 243, this week 238!!!! Now my total weight loss is 72 pounds (started a year ago at 310...on my way to 175).
I had posted here earlier this week about needing advice on breaking through a plateau and got some good advice. Here is what I changed to get me going in the right direction again:
1. Drank more water, more often (at least 10 glasses a day)
2. Ate a bigger breakfast, regular size lunch and a little smaller dinner (basically tried to even out my calorie intake throughout the day).
3. Stopped eating (or really limited) major carbs after lunch. For dinner this meant no more rice, potatoes, bread, but still all the vegies I wanted. Since I am doing a low fat balanced diet, I should be eating about half my calories in carbs, but I think it helped not eating heavy bulk at night because I won't have time to naturally work it off.
4. Stopped eating 3 hours before bed. (except water)
5. Journalling my experience. This was a big one for me as I started my journal here on these boards, and it really kept me motivated knowing that I was going to have to post the good, bad and ugly. 99% of it was all good, and I want to keep it that way. Journaling really kept my mind on what I was putting into my mouth. Being more aware, I realized I wan't sticking to my plan the way I thought I was. I'm sure this made a big difference.
I'm sure next week, I will lose very little or stay the same because I know 5 pounds is a lot in 1 week. I am just excited to be rid of the 240's and into the 230's!!
