Finally bought the Dopey Sericel!

DH has always admired the 3-part Dopey sericel at The Art of Disney store at DTD. It's $375 and is on an easel. Well, I've never spent that much for a picture-even Disney! But yesterday I saw it at an Inventory reduction sale at a little gift shop in our town for 1/2 price. It's a very lovely little gift shop-one I usually can't afford even to walk in to. So this morning I went back and bought it-DH is always so hard to buy for, and when I told him about this last night, he REALLY wanted it. But I'm still in shock! Even at $187.50, I've never paid that much for a picture. Please tell me it's OK, it was worth the money, and I will survive.

Cheer up! I have spent ALOT more than that on a picture!!! I walked in to the local DS and saw the Peter Pan Flying Over London LE cel. HAD TO HAVE IT!!! $1300 later..........I'm glad I did!!! This cel sold out in a month!!!! Very rare for ANY non-production cel! It is still one of the favorite pieces in my collection.

Although not as collectible as production cels, ones actually used to make a film, some sericels have become quite collectible. Some are going for 2.5 times their original price.

Besides you bought it for the BEST reason of all........because you liked it!

Everytime you look at it you will smile

This made me just remember a restaurant where we used to live in Staten Island NY called MJ's Supper Club.
The owner of the restaurant had Disney cels and other artwork all over the restaurant. Over 100 pieces!

Maybe I should open a supper club... I have the artwork for the walls...
