Well after over an hour in the TAs with MIL thanks to the oxygen/flight palava and in laws not being able to upgrade their flights because we weren't! (thankfully they're not bothered as we're hoping the dreamliner will mean plenty of leg room etc anyway) we are finally booked! Flying out on the 20/9. Excited doesn't even come close, although at the same time I don't think it's really sunk in yet.

Starting to think about dining as not all that long til we need to make our reservations really! DD2 will be 1 and is free for character meals etc but how easy is it to purchase a meal for her in places where it's a set prepaid meal. Ie Cinderellas Royal Table? Just thinking portion sizes/type of food may to suit her sharing of our plate.

8 months tomorrow!! :woohoo: :dance3:

Congrats on booking! We're planning our first trip too, and it's so exciting!

Where are you staying? :)

Congratulations and happy planning!:cool1:

I would allow a 1 year old to eat from your plate. The servers are really helpful with children and everywhere is very family-friendly. The children's meals would be too much for her. My eldest DD ordered a meal and didn't like it and the server replaced it free of charge. Really helpful service.:thumbsup2

When my DD was that age we just brought food for her like apple sauce pouches, cereal bars, yogurt, Cheerios etc. We had food like this delivered to our room ahead of time through Garden Grocer.

At buffets you can get her a plate free of charge and they will bring her a drink.

At CRT for breakfast they do bring her some food - I think it is French toast sticks. Lunch and dinner it is I believe plain pasta.

At a la carte restaurants you can choose to by her a meal or share. Remember the child's meals are priced a la carte even if it shows a whole meal price :goodvibes

DS was two and we went to CRT for dinner. They gave him a half portion of whatever children's Meal he wanted for free

Can't help with meals, but sounds like you've got lots of good advice!

Just wanted to say, I am so pleased you've managed to get booked up - very exciting :goodvibes.

Thank you! we're staying off site at a Thomson Gold Villa - really hoping we get lucky and don't end up with a dud. In laws last one they had with them was amazing though so fingers crossed!

Thank you all, that's all good to know. My 5 year old hasn't got a huge appetite anyway especially when he's over excited! so I think she could probably have a bit off of everyones plate. I was thinking of taking her own food but just wasn't sure if they'd be happy for her to eat it there. I think I shall do that and if she winds up with a half portion then great but if not we'll keep her quiet with snacks and bits of of ours :)

Thank you! It's actually a really odd feeling. We've looked into going so many times over the years, we were even originally going to go with them in 2012 but they booked up before we had a chance to really look into it, so although I am super excited, I can't quite believe it's all booked if that makes sense!
