FINALLY, AP RATE AT PC

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again.
Was able to book CR for 12/26-1/01 with AP rate.
No rooms at AS or PC.
Called everyday-still no rooms.
Called today-they had rooms.
$49.00/night + tax=$55 or so.
Gotta love the mouse

I had the same thing happen to me this morning.

We want to sat at PC, but when I called on 8/28 I was told that the available AP rate rooms were gone for Dec 26 to Jan 3, and so I made a reservation at AKL.

However once we sat down to go over the vacation budget, we realized that while we could afford AKL, it would put a crimp in our budget.

I promised my girlfriend that if I found the $49 I would change it over, and so I did.

She however has no idea that I was able to get the AP rate at PC and so I will surprise her on Christmas Day with it.

You cant beat $54.88 a night at a brand new disney resort (ok 12 day old resort).

Are you sure you want to surprise her on Christmas day with the fact she's staying at a value resort instead of a deluxe?

I know what your are saying, but this is what we both wanted all along, and trust me she will be very happy to hear that I was able to book this resort. I know that most girlfriends or wives would be upset, but she is getting what she wanted.

We saw an add in the paper for Pop Century and that is what got us started on going to WDW over Christmas time in the first place. I think that it is the whole brand new resort thing that interests us, plus from the pictures it looks cool and lots of fun.

I know that AKL is a very nice resort, but by changing the reservation, it will give us alot more flexibility to do other things, like eat at nicer places, take in a show, longer stay, etc which we wouldn't have been able to do under the AKL reservation.

Anyways, we will be back in May or June and plan on staying at AKL at that time.

It gives us the opertunity to stay at PC while it still has the new feeling to it.

Congrats to Doc and mshs on getting your AP rates.
mshs, I was just concerned that a surprise like that might backfire, sounds like she will like the surprise though. I'm sure you two will have a great time.

Thanks for the concern. I am sure I would have said the same thing if the roles had been reversed.

The cool thing is that we were going to leave on 12/26 anyways so its not like on 12/25 all of the sudden she finds out were going to WDW and isn't packed and has nothing done.
