Just logged into iTunes and I finally have a new show this week it is about time!


JUST KIDDING, but now that I have your attention the real reason I am posting is that while listening to the news segment the crew was discussing the discounts just released and what there thoughts were and how Pete thought it was knee jerk and kind of odd. And that maybe it was in response to Harry Potter.

I think it might be but not in the way you might think. Do you guys think that Disney may have taken a look at what Universal's numbers were the year before HP opened and saw double digit declines and that is what they are really trying to avoid?

Do you think they are worried people will be saying "we could go in 2011 but if we wait another year we can wait for the Fantasyland expansion to open". I know the project isn't scheduled to be completed till 2013 but parts of it were originally scheduled to open in 2012.

any other thoughts?

Interesting thought. I know my SIL can't wait to take my niece to Disney World, they were thinking of 2011, but after I told them about the expansion they want to wait for that. BUT my SIL wouldn't even have known about the FL expansion if I hadn't told her about it. The hype for WWofHP was everywhere you didn't have to be a Universal fan to have at least heard about it. With the FL expansion though, Disney fans know about it of course, but I don't think most of the casual visitors or general public do. Not yet at least.

good point on the casual visitor not knowing about the expansion. I wonder how many of "us" influence friends and relatives bc my sister was going to take her 2 little ones next year and I told her to hold off too.

Regular, non-freaky folks probably won't know about the expansion.

I do know and don't care much. Interested to see the Ariel ride and the new restaurant, but not excited. Certainly wouldn't put off or schedule a trip around it in any way.
