Final straw with Disney transportation

I love reading positive comments like yours. I've read way too many negative comments about the buses, trying to decide whether to attempt it with my scooter for the 1st time next May. Just about the time I decide it's better if we just rent a car & probably better if I stay off these boards because sometimes it can be depressing, I come across a post like yours that gives me a better outlook.

GranJan: don't let others' attitudes dissuade you. I have used a scooter several times at WDW and it's really not that big of a deal. Most of the drivers are very helpful in maneuvering the scooter into the correct position and it takes most drivers maybe 2 or 3 minutes to secure it.

In 5 trips I have only had one situation where someone seemed obviously perturbed by the scooter being loaded. And unfortunately she was staying at my resort and we seemed to be on the same schedule. My friends and I got to see LOTS of eye-rolling and general outbursts of annoyance. Not that it bothered us any.

It's funny--people will stand and wait for 20 minutes for a bus, but if a bus comes right away they get annoyed by a 5 minute wait to load scooters. The scooter or wheelchair will get off last so they won't be held up at the other end.

I agree with what I believe the OP posted above (paraphrasing because I didn't quote): "I'm not responsible for your vacation and you're not responsible for mine."

Disney provides transportation for scooters and wheelchairs and I intend to use it. That is how I enjoy MY vacation. If that is so upsetting to someone then they are right to use private transportation to protect THEIR vacation.
