Just saw Disney is running a new promo where they are throwing in 100 one time use points for a stay at SSR in addition to the cash discount. Think it is the final push to sell the Poly before they launch sales of CCV?

I think that when word gets out that Poly is near sell out, there will be no need to discount. I remember the frenzy around VGF in the final days. This looks like 2 things to me.
1) This is a way of keeping the nominal price the same ($171) which is an indicator of value, while heavily discounting that price.
2) This is a way of marketing to larger purchasers who might possibly be able to afford the bungalows. The current sales mix may skew to 25 point contracts.

This was done in the past when sales weren't meeting expectations.

I think it's a push; but I dn't think it's the final push.

I wonder if @wdrl still tracks sales. How much of PVB is declared at this point?

Edited to add:
As of October, PVB was at 74% declared.
As of August, they had sold 46% of the resort.
They began sales in January 2015.

That would seem to put it at sold-out status somewhere around December 2017 to April 2018. I think they want to finish up in Q3. I suspect they need a big Q1 so they can start advertising "close out" pricing in Q2.

Agreed.....And then start the push to sell CCV. This seems to be just about right on schedule really.

Yes. Every month DVCNews has an article on DVC direct sales. The latest article is here.

So far, 74.1% of PVB has been declared for the DVC inventory. Disney Vacation Development currently has about 530,000 PVB points that have been declared but not yet sold, including pending transactions that have not yet closed. Although that may sound like a substantial number of points, I anticipate that DVD will declare more residential Units for the DVC inventory within the next month. What is unknown is whether DVD will declare all of the remaining Units or continue to make smaller incremental declarations.

If last year holds, they may declare some into fall frenzy availability.

Ah, just like the good old days. Except the starting price was more like $100/pt.

Gee..what a deal.....why the heck offer a free stay at SSR when they are trying to get you to buy at Poly....oh, perhaps that is why SSR always has availability?

My guess is that it is because ssr generally has availability when other resorts do not. I agree it doesn't really seem as great a perk as a free stay at the Poly but in addition to having much greater availability at ssr (especially when booking less than 7 months out) 100 points wouldn't go that far at the Poly. Off the top of my head I know it costs 130 points for a week in the fall and 169 points during spring break (I know these because these are times I've actually booked there).
