My sisters got into FF because some of the characters are in Kingdom Hearts, but some of the games are rated T. They are 11-yr.-old (will be 12 in March) twins, and I'm wondering if anyone here knows how "teen" the FF X2 is, and if I should go ahead and get it for them for XMAS. Anyone framiliar with this? Thanks for any help, and Happy Thanksgiving!

It has been a while since I played it, but I don't remember X-2 have much in the way of language to be concerned about. There might be a few mild curse words in it. Some of the outfits are on the skimpy side, I don't know if that would bother you. The outfits they wore in KH2 are from FFX-2. There is no blood, but you are fighting enemies so that might be where the T rating is coming from.

X-2 is a sequel of FFX, and it would help to have played FFX first for the backstory. FFX has a much heavier story line than X-2 though.

FFX2 has little violance or language... but it is a horrid game in my opinion. The rest of the FF games would be a better choice, but I am not sure how good of an attention span your sisters have. They can be long games and are very story driven. The game play is much different then KH as well.

Thanks for the feedback. They have gotten into some other rpg games, like The Darkest Faerie Neopets game, and can sit for hours if they're into something. I asked someone at a gaming store this weekend, and he said that some of the themes are suggestive, and there were alcohol references, and my mom wasn't too crazy about that. :rotfl: I think we may wait.

I would buy FF1 (can't buy 2 & 3).....go buy FF4, 5, or 6.
FF7 is the most suggestive however it is "the one" they want, trust me. It is the favorite.
I played 8, 9 & 10...

Haven't played the rest, but my dd has. One of these days.

Here is a good site that explains all....look to the right and click as necessary.

And yes...us FF lovers "get" all the jokes in Kingdom Hearts.;) :lmao:

x-2 isn't that bad. No cussing. Only a tad of nudity. Not full body just some shown parts

I've been playing FF games since I was probably 10. (16 now, still love them) Nothing too bad that I can remember, but it all depends. FF8 is the one that sticks out in my mind for having the worst language, but I haven't played it in ages. My favorite is FFX, FFX-2 is the sequel, so I would think about getting FFX first. I also thought it was a much better game, great graphics. I find that FF is a bit darker and have deeper, more complicated story lines than KH.

Good luck with your decision!

I don't know if I'd call FF7 the most suggestive, I would have said the costuming in FFX2 was more suggestive. However, FF7 is certainly a good place to start them off on the series (plus it has some of the Kingdom Hearts characters). FFX2 isn't a lot of fun unless you played and obsessed over FFX (which is probably the best game of the whole series), but it's basically about 3 teenaged girls running around and having "girl power" adventures. FF8 is okay, and definitely has some of the Kingdom Hearts people in it. FF9...well DH didn't really like this one, and I had trouble staying awake to watch it. FFTactics is more my style, but it's not exactly a rpg.

Now, other suggestions for young-ish girls:

Harvest Moon (this series is by far the most addictive game I have ever played and it is 100% geared towards girls)
Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross
Zelda (I personally like Windwaker best, but they're all pretty good)
O Kami
Pikmin (not a rpg, but awesome)
Katamari (also not a rpg, but even more awesome)
