(Final 8/12)The WILDEST Ride in the Wilderness!" Princess Half Marathon TR/Feb.2014

:rotfl2: I'm seriously rolling here...we're having a discussion on whether to change jazzirit hands to spazz hands. This is my life! :lmao:

I'm a little nostalgic about jazzirit. I want to still use it for something. Maybe I'll just call you that Nicole. :p

To quote your 'theme' for PHM

"We're all mad here..."

If you like- we can just keep adding to my name. My name is now DumJazziritNicole

Nickname. DumbJaz.

I like spazz hands. I couldn't quite tell what you were trying to say with the other.

The girls finished up with China and we continued our trek around the world. We stopped at the African outpost and the girls found yet another penny machine.

WDWPrincesshalf00290.jpg

Kim and I spotted the recycled paper bead area and I was mesmerized by the colors. So pretty!
WDWPrincesshalf00291.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00292.jpg

I must have seemed really mesmerized because Kim told me to pick out a bracelet and got a twin one for herself. I probably should have told her I rarely wear jewelry, but I didn't. It's the Disney curse...I buy jewelry there and then I don't wear it until I go back for the next trip...only to buy more jewelry.

WDWPrincesshalf00294.jpg

We sat down at a table near the African outpost and just rested a bit. The girls wanted to keep going even though the plan had not been to do ALL of World Showcase on this day. Onward then! I kept texting Meg as she was on her way and arriving at Epcot, but I was worried b/c my phone was about to die. I couldn't hold a charge all day at Disney for the life of me. :confused3

WDWPrincesshalf00295.jpg

Germany was up next! I had to laugh the other day when Savannah mentioned that they totally ran right past the caramel shop in their pennyfrenzied state. They were on a mission and apparently yummy caramel goodness would not deter them! I admit, I didn't notice either, I must not have been hungry??

WDWPrincesshalf00296.jpg

See this face???
WDWPrincesshalf00297.jpg

It's her I-hate-Duffy-face. :lmao: It's mostly a joke because when we first ran across Duffy, she thought he was creepy? I think because they just "made him up" out of nowhere (isn't everything Disney made up out of nowhere??) but something about him she didn't like. Now it's become a game to see how dramatic she can be with her hatred. She gave the face and then Kim decided to HUG Duffy and share her drink with him just to escalate it. ;)

WDWPrincesshalf00298.jpg

Didn't take long to exit that store! I was really excited when I saw that they were putting up the Flower and Garden topiaries! I have never been during F&G so I had never seen any of them.

WDWPrincesshalf00299.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00300.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00301.jpg

Italy...more searching.
WDWPrincesshalf00302.jpg

No problem, I just took a seat and rested the knee some more.
WDWPrincesshalf00304.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00305.jpg

By the time we arrived in Japan, Meg texted that she was in France! Ahhh! So close! The girls wanted to shop, so off they went. Kim and I sat down again and relaxed but I was a bit antsy because I wanted to meetup with Meg before we had to leave.

WDWPrincesshalf00307.jpg

Up next...when I'm antsy, I get aggravated. When I get aggravated, my daughter gets an attitude. When she gets an attitude... (it's like when you give a mouse a cookie!) ;)

Love the bead bracelets!

The flower and garden topiaries are so cool! I loved seeing them last year too. I just wish they would move it up just a tad to coincide with the phm.

Savannah's Duffy hate face is hilarious. :rotfl2:

LOL at Savannah and her Duffy dislike. I think we all kind of felt that way about him at first but he adorableness ended up winning us over and I will not admit to how many Duffy's currently reside in our home. :)

Beautiful bracelet!

So as if autograph collecting, pin and vinylmation trading weren't enough....I think I am getting the itch for pressed pennies. Thanks??? ;)

I was excited because I didn't realize they would be putting anything out! Nice little extra I hadn't planned. I love the water area in between Future World and World Showcase, I got a pretty shot of that!

Haha! They really enjoyed it and Eleanor is coming over tomorrow night so they can work on making bracelets with all the pennies they collected. I can't wait to see how that turns out.

Another great update! And, yes, I'm now finding myself contemplating encouraging my girls to collect pennies when they go with us in January. :lmao:

Man, I totally agree with Savannah. Who is Duffy & why is here except to make little kids think they need a Duffy bear and some outfits to go with it!!

Least most of the other 'made-up' characters had a purpose somewhere in Disney- movie, cartoon.... Duffy's only purpose is extacting more money from your wallet. And making you think you like it because he'll pose for a picture with you.

Great pictures, as always.

And hopefully the 'tude' wasn't too bad!

Spazz, i love it :rotfl2:

I love those topiaries. We went twice during the F&G Festival. So gorgeous :goodvibes

I'm warning you, it can be addictive for those searching! ;)

Nah, not too bad. I think I was more shocked b/c she NEVER gets an attitude in front of people. That's something she saves for private, if at all. ;)

We like to tease her about her Duffyhatred, when Rey & I went for 3 nights to celebrate our Anniversary, we got our picture taken with Duffy and texted it to her. Great parents! :lmao:

It was a cool surprise! I didn't realize they would be putting them up! :thumbsup2

I just want this update to be done with so I can move on to the rest of our fabulous trip! So I have to say before I rant about my daughter's attitude that she normally does not have one. Isn't that the way it goes with kids though? You get used to them being a certain way, so when they do something out of the ordinary (but normal for their age) you kind of freak out?!? That's pretty much what happened here. I'm no angel in these situations, I react to reactions, so I'm sure her attitude was fueled by me. I'm just so unaccustomed to her having an attitude in front of OTHERS?? If she does get one, it's in the privacy of our home, not in World Showcase! ;)

So...

We were headed around the world, collecting pennies! I was texting Meg, who had now made it to France and we had just hit Japan. The girls were excited as Eleanor was most looking forward to Japan. I should have just gone with the flow, that was the first mistake I made. In my head, this was a day we just looked around Epcot, not toured the WHOLE thing. We had another day for that. We were running out of time to get back to the resort and change for dinner at the castle, so that put me on edge as well. Add Meg texting that she was just down the way...DRINKING...without me...and I started to get aggravated. :lmao:

Kim and I sat waiting and the minutes stretched on...until it was 45 minutes later. I had gone looking for the girls in the store, but couldn't find them?!? This added to the aggravation. Meg was texting about champagne...and I wanted a slushie, I admit it!

Eventually, Meg came to me! That eased my aggravation a bit.
WDWPrincesshalf00308.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00310.jpg

The girls finally appeared and Eleanor had a bag of goodies!
WDWPrincesshalf00311.jpg

Unfortunately, my daughter and I are pretty in tune with each other and she could tell I was annoyed when I told her we were running out of time and I had been looking for them. Her attitude hit the roof in response, and looking back I realize it was mostly about Eleanor having a good time. She wanted Eleanor to shop until her heart's content and I looked like a jerk for wanting to keep moving and do more ME stuff, like meeting up with people and having a slushie.

So really, this update is about how I made my daughter have an attitude b/c I had one myself! Ahhh...the insight you glean from a Disney meltdown. :rolleyes1

Savannah insisted that we keep going, they wanted more pennies and wanted to go all the way around WS. Again, I was worried we wouldn't get back to the resort and told her we might have to go straight to MK for dinner. In any case, we griped at each other and then headed to France. I found myself explaining to Kim and Meg that she was not normally like this. I'm sure they wondered if I was. :lmao:

We got to France and everything was better once I got my slushie. :rolleyes1

WDWPrincesshalf00312.jpg

What can I say? I'm a lush. and I wasn't alone!
WDWPrincesshalf00315.jpg

While we were enjoying our drinks and taking pictures, the girls looked for penny machines. We were standing there and heard a commotion, only to witness an engagement! I wish I could find these people so I could give them these shots! It was so cute, apparently the artist was in on it and drew him on his knee and then revealed it to the bride-to-be!

WDWPrincesshalf00313.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00314.jpg

The performers in France came out just as the girls came out from finding penny machines, so we all watched the fun!

WDWPrincesshalf00329.jpg

Still insisting that we could finish up the last two countries, get back to the resort to change, and then to MK for dinner, we moved on. I don't like to be late, so I was a little stressed at this point but enjoying my time with Kim and Meg while the girls explored. We're at Disney! Relax! Enjoy! We made it to the UK and off the girls went to find that penny machine, naturally. I decided that if we were late, we were late. Who cares?!? For some reason I don't have any other photos than this though. I have more on a different day.
WDWPrincesshalf00330.jpg

When we were finished with the UK, everyone was in agreement that we had to skip Canada and head back to Pop. The girls wanted to dress up for the Castle dinner and drop off bags, so off we went! Meg had gotten some fabulous cider beer (I normally don't like beer) and we all shared it, which required a couple more photos as we headed out of Epcot! Selfie style!

WDWPrincesshalf00331.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00332-1.jpg

We said our goodbye's to Meg as we headed to the bus back to Pop!

Up next...dinner in the castle and EMH's...how long can I stay up at Disney after running a half maraton?!?

See, that's the tough part of Moms & Daughters being so in tune with each other ---- you can see right through each other. I think you both handled it well and like adults. Good!!! Now we can move on to the rest of your report. I assume another update is coming right up, right?? Like today? Like now? C'mon can't you tell it's been slow at work lately? That's why I've been able to update quite a bit. :lmao: Now let's get on with it......

Ahh, the elusive grey goose slushie.

That will soon be mine.

It really is hard balancing a family trip with a 'me' trip. I was glad to have gone down early for Wine & Dine before my family joined me. It helped me not having to make those choices!

Sometimes you just have to say...

"Spazz-a-jazzirit" and let it go. :)

Hmmm... cider beer huh? Although, doesn't Canada have that ice-wine? I would like to hunt that down and try it.....

I'll see what I can do...where is YOUR next update, huh?

Yes, Meg went into Rose & Crown to get it? It was tasty and apple-y. :drinking1

I've never tried the ice-wine? I've actually not tried a lot of things, I keep making a b-line for margaritas and slushies. :rolleyes1

Ah the beauty of mother-daughter attitude interactions. ;) It's very hard to balance I think, but sounds like you guys were able to work it out. The slushi looks delicious. That would have made me antsy to move on too.:thumbsup2

Love the photos of the surprise engagement. What a cute idea and fun to get to witness it.

I know from personal experience that you are not the only one to have a mother daughter issue happen in WDW. (only my daughter is prone to meltdowns no matter where she is ;))

I think it sounds like you both had different goals. That is really rough when that is the case. Nothing wrong with either of you having the goal you did... but really hard on the other person when your goal is not their goal and visa versa.

Kim and I sat waiting and the minutes stretched on...until it was 45 minutes later. I had gone looking for the girls in the store, but couldn't find them?!? This added to the aggravation. Meg was texting about champagne...and I wanted a slushie, I admit it!

Well, now see... who could blame you! A slushie was involved!!! ;)

It doesn't sound like either of you were all that worked up. Believe me... you want to see worked up? Get my oldest dd upset... THAT is a sight. :rotfl2:

See, slushie makes everything better. :goodvibes

I love the street performers! I try and catch the ones in Italy and France. I am looking forward to seeing the one on the boardwalk next fall.

I admire you. I seem to always be running late and it makes me totally nervous. I try to relax. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Now with the new cancelation policy... I find I am even more nervous to be late.

Up next...dinner in the castle and EMH's...how long can I stay up at Disney after running a half maraton?!?

I can't wait to read how the rest of the day turns out. :thumbsup2
