(Final 8/12)The WILDEST Ride in the Wilderness!" Princess Half Marathon TR/Feb.2014

Late to joining, but so glad to find your TR. I'm so anxious to hear about your run, but very much enjoying all your pictures and the story of your trip so far!!

We are big fans of rope drop too. No better strategy for getting the most out of your park time. Can't wait to read more.

Glad you are here! I read your 2013 report and it looks like I missed a 2014 trip now! You are from Missouri, right?!?! Me too! :thumbsup2

The race report will be LONG and should be coming up in about 2 updates or so! :goodvibes

So glad that Eleanor liked BTMRR. It is my favorite ride. I love to ride it over and over. I am thinking that the Dwarfs Mine ride will be similar. Can't wait for that one!

Yep, I'm a Missouri girl. Can't wait to hear all about the race. I love long race reports. :thumbsup2

Me too! AND, later in the trip, my resolve for riding it OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER was tested! Can't wait to tell you about that! :thumbsup2

Yay! I'm worried my race updates might be boring to some people, so I'm glad you are here to enjoy them! :thumbsup2

I'm checking in from the cupcake thread. I just wanted to say that I am loving your TR so far! I can't wait to hear all about the race!

I am caught up! :cool1:

Um, first off- AWESOME job on the video Savannah.

I especially like there is video footage of some fab dancing by your mother! :rotfl2: (it's way better than I can dance- so I say that with utmost respect.. I only dance with A LOT of alcohol in me!)

What is it with Peter Pan? That ride makes me tear up too! Always, as we go up over London... I just love it!!

So glad Eleanor liked BTM- it's such a great ride!

Mine Ride WILL be open by next February- I heard the opening is May 2nd or something like that?

Hey, do you like rope drop?

Uh, yeah, I'm not much of a dancer! :lmao:

Mine Train! Yippee!!! We'll have to get FP+ for it...oh, that means we have to plan some of our park days. Yay, more planning!!! :hyper:

After our amazingly productive morning at Magic Kingdom...I've mentioned how I love rope drop to you guys, right??? :rotfl:

We arrived back at Pop for lunch! We were hungry, so just went straight to the food court, I believe it was about 1pm. It was POURING down rain, so we sat inside (we normally sit outside, it's Florida after all!) and had lunch. I have in my notes that mine was VERY good, a veggie sandwich.

The girl's lunch was just "ok" though. Savannah tried for the mac-n-cheese again, thinking she would have better luck, but nope. They have changed her beloved m&c and she doesn't like it anymore. You could tell looking at it that it was DRY.

Eleanor had pizza bread.

The rain had nearly stopped and I was texting Rachel, a fellow runner and blogger who was coming to meet me! She was on her way and so I left the girls to finish and headed to the room to throw my swimsuit on! When I arrived, I found Eeyore in a boat on the bed. Our Mousekeeper was so awesome this trip!
WDWPrincesshalf00247.jpg

She also made a little "bow" out of Savannah's blanket.
WDWPrincesshalf00246.jpg

You gotta love the weather in Florida...by the time I threw on my swimsuit and grabbed my towel, the rain was gone and the sun was peeking out! I think I nearly RAN for the pool. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I'm a bit of a sun goddess. I NEED sun. No, really. I actually have seasonal depression and some physical pain in the winter, I believe from low vitamin D (which I take a LOT of in the winter, but it is not effective like actual sun) so when I get sun, I soak it up!

I found a spot by the Hippy Dippy pool and got a few minutes of rays before Rachel showed up. Meet Rachel!
WDWPrincesshalf00248.jpg

She's so darn cute, the ears made her even cuter, if that's possible! So, over the year of training for the Princess, I blogged. During that time I met a lot of fabulous bloggers that run as well and I seriously would not have had the same race experience if it hadn't been for these ladies. Rachel is one of them! We chatted by the pool and when the girls came down we got up and did the cupid shuffle, embarrassing them completely, I'm sure. Actually, I doubt anything I do really embarrasses Savannah anymore. She's pretty used to it. :lmao: She took pictures. Some of them are blurry b/c she forgot to put it on auto and I had it on manual...but you get the idea! Fun times by the pool!

Now I'm sure at this point you are thinking to yourself..."she sure dances a lot!" but I assure you, I ONLY dance to the cupid shuffle, if you were paying attention! That's most likely b/c it's the easiest dance EVER, and I cannot dance. ;)

It wasn't long before April arrived! April is another runner and blogger that I met online. I call April my twinkie b/c we had many similar things going on over the year, including an injury. I was SO excited to meet April!

WDWPrincesshalf00252.jpg

We sat by the pool for a while and Savannah took this before more rain arrived.
WDWPrincesshalf00253.jpg

The girls headed for the room, but Rachel and April are Florida natives...they steered me to the nearest table with an umbrella and we waited out the rain, all 5 minutes of it! ;) It was still cloudy and my normal sun-worshipping self would have been super disappointed that our planned afternoon at the pool had this weather, but I was having such a great time chatting with the ladies about the upcoming race, I barely noticed!

I did start to feel a little "pulled" again...feeling bad that I wasn't with the girls (I don't think they minded) and I was doing "race/running stuff" again. I felt that quite a few times over the weekend when I was excited to meet other runners, shop at the expo, etc. and then felt like it was their trip too and I might be taking away from that. It's part of why I'm excited to do next year alone, without guilt!

We spent a couple hours by the pool chatting and I waited for Kim to arrive. Kim is an old friend of mine that I have not seen for 5 years! She lives 3 hours from Disneyworld and wanted to come support me for my race, so she came up for 2 nights while we were there. It worked out perfectly b/c she not only brought the girls to the finish line but she was my drink & ride buddy for a day! :thumbsup2

Up next, the last update before the race updates! Kim arrives, dinner at Boma, and early to bed!

Did you really think we were NOT going to plan some of our park days? :confused3

I mean we ARE talking about two huge Type A planners! :) :rotfl2:

Yhea for bloggy friend meet-ups!!!

Looks like a perfect afternoon wind-down before the big run- by the pool, talking race stuff, with friends! :thumbsup2

The good thing is Savannah & Eleanor are at the age where they probably were ok with some time by themselves- so hopefully there was not too much guilt on your side or too much disappointment on theirs!

I was just trying to EASE you into it...I wasn't sure if you were the same TYPE of TYPE A planner as me...ya know...the kind that loves rope drop and crowd calendars and and and...

:lmao:

Didn't want to scare you right out of the gate! :rolleyes1

In my defense, I plan a LOT and then roll with the punches and I'm pretty easy with changing stuff up once I get there. I may or may not plan my drinks ahead of time and the direction I go in world showcase based on that.

Since we had spent all morning at the park they didn't seem to mind. It was a perfect way to rest my feet and get ready mentally for the race as well...especially with two people that had already run the PHM before! The only thing that would have made it better would have been my mango margarita. This one:

We sat RIGHT NEXT TO Petals Pool Bar and it was nearly torture not to get my favorite drink there...but I was afraid to drink any alcohol the day before a race!

Let's see... rope drop - yup. Crowd Calendars - yup. Menu Researcher- yup. Clothes planning spreadsheets- yup.

Yhea, I think we will be just fine together in our Type A craziness....:rotfl:

I will roll with the punches too when there- which we will have to do to make sure we get our adequate cupcake allowance in.........

Ah...so refreshing to find someone as...er...organized...as me! ;) Outfit planner too! WOOT! I was already trying to figure out when we would wear our matching shirts...but at this rate we will match every.single.day. :rotfl:

Yes, in our planning- we have to make sure we get our proper drinks in on Thursday so we have Friday to recover 'alcohol-free' for the races!

Two musts for me this trip are to try that Grey Goose Slushie & hit the Cave- as I have never been!!

Should we wear them after the 10K? Saturday? That way we could keep our bows in too?!?!

The cave is a wonderful and dangerous place! ;) They have so many different types of margaritas to try, you can get caught up in the flavors and forget the tequila! :lmao:

I think we should do that for sure after the half on Sunday...where should we get our DRINK quote filled on Thursday?!?! :teacher:

I guess that depends if we decide to head into the parks on Thursday or stay in Downtown Disney.......... good thing we have a year to research this option.... :dance3:
