Filtered water bottle suggestions?

We use to use the brita water bottle in the parks. It was great to simply grab some water from the fountains & have the bottle filter it so it doesn't have that usual tap water taste. But we've since gotten rid of it & from the looks of it, Brita doesn't even manufacture it or the filters anymore.

So, I've done some checking & came across 2 others. Fit & Fresh LivPURE & Pure Water 2go. I'd love to hear some reviews from my fellow DIS'ers out here to see who's tried these & if they work as well as the Brita ones did. The Fit & Fresh seem to be a bit less expensive, but if they don't do the job, that's irrelevant.

The Brita bottles were a great money saver when drinking water in the parks. Obviously it wasn't always super cold when getting water from a fountain, but cold enough. And at $2 or $3 or whatever bottles of water cost now, it was definitely a nice way to save a few bucks.

So who has some feedback for me on these or other filtered water bottle options?? :cool1:

I've got the LivPure and I like it. I got it at Target.
Did you know you can ask for an ice water at any vendor selling fountain drinks and they will give it to you free? This is Disney policy. People here have said it's filtered water so you may want to give that a try if you can't find the bottle you want.

We just used 2 of the LivPure bottles this past June and LOVED them. Absolutely fantastic. *You can also buy them online (i believe at drusgstores.com)* They saved us soooo much money! Super easy to use. Comfortable to carry. We asked for cups of ice then filled the bottles with the water from any of the water bubblers. The water tasted as clean as bottled water and it kept it cold. I would never go to WDW without them again.

We've been using pure water 2 go filter bottles for years and love them!:thumbsup2

We also used to use the Brita bottles but switched to Pure Water 2 Go and they work great.

So it looks like its 2 thumbs up for Fit & Fresh LivPURE and 2 thumbs up for Pure Water 2go. Anyone else out there try these or other brands and have any comments?

Do either of those brands use the more environmentally friendly corn-based bottles (instead of plastic)? I saw some people in MK last time that had some bottles that had a filter in them and were made out of corn-based material. I have seen them in a health food store, but don't remember the brand name.

What size Pure2Go do you use?

Does anyone have any experience with the corn bolttles? I'm very interested in these!

I've got the Pure Water 2GO - just got back from a vacation and used it all week. The only drawback I see is when you get towards the end of the bottle its not as easy to 'squeeze' through the filter. Other than that I have no complaints. I have not tried the Fresh LivPURE.

The Pure Water 2GO I have is NOT corn based. I have a severe allergy to corn and rather not chance it. I think its by New Wave.

I have the 16 oz size.

We used these with our Nalgene bottles:

They use a carbon filter. I suppose it was somewhat of a hassle to take the filter out when we refilled the bottles (not sure how the others work), and from time to time the carbon filter would come out in the bottle, but we were really happy with them - we drink a lot of water under normal circumstances, so we didn't want to give up our Nalgenes!

Another helpful tip for those who do not enjoy the park water taste from the fountain is to get the little flavor packets. They sell Iced Tea, lemon aid and Gatoraid. We get them at Walmart. They are sized to pour in to a full size water bottle.

They really improve the flavor and keep the kids drinking water.

I'm not sure how the flavors would work with the filtered bottle. Anyone have any experience?

I used the Pure Water2Go last trip and loved it! I have the 16 oz bottle.

I bought mine on Amazon.com - $14.95 for the 16 oz.

Thanks, I also went on the companies website and found other places, greenitems.com has regular 16 oz for 7.88/bottle, Inpired Living.com & Healther Water Filters.com has the 16 oz sports bottle for 12.95 each.

It also says Hallmark carries them and to check your local store. I may stop there today while I am out today.

I definitely would rather get these then order or use water bottles considering the environmental impact. I will be getting 4 for are family to use. My girls drink water all the time and these are great for school, soccer and just going somewhere in the car.

Thanks for all the info on these choices!

I have some unused Culligan SB-2 and Brita Water filters for water bottles. We used the bottles several years ago and they are worn out. Does anyone know of any water botles which would fit these filters that I could buy for our upcoming trip?

thanks!

I just ordered some Bobble water bottles. Have never used them but found out about them from another thread on the forum.

Ho'okani

woot.com is selling a Bobble 2-pack today for $14.99 (+ $5 shipping). Also comes with two extra filters.

Doh! PP beat to it. :)
