Does anyone know when they are filming the parade at DLR this year?

It's usually the first week in December, I think.
thank you. I really hope you are correct. We'll be there a few weeks earlier on my first and probably only trip. Sounds like hassle we want no part of

I wouldn't want to be there either.

They usually film in mid November. I remember back in 2018 it impacted parking and event check in for the dvc moonlight magic.

Is it really done that early? What am I thinking of then? Maybe the performances on the castle stage? I recall something always filming during the first week of December.

Candlelight Processional is the first weekend - maybe that?

ok, so now it's not looking so good for us. As of right now we have a lunch planned in Downtown Disney. Should we cancel that to avoid leaving and re-entering the park?

Don't stress too much about it. You can always take the monorail out amd back in, and when they do this, they also open up the backstage area of Main Street for through traffic.

We were there in 2018 for the parade filming and saw Gwen Stefani perform. It did not make a difference in crowds throughout the park, and Main Street was no more packed than it usually is during the holiday season. We were there for 10 days that year and the crowds were similar on non-filming days. It was actually really neat to see the production in action! We will also be there this year Nov 11- 20th and not really concerned which day filming will take place. If it is happening on one of our days, it will be a pleasant surprise.

Thank you. I completely forgot the monorail. Although I think we planned on being closer to the front of the park right before lunch and lunch is at the closer end of Downtown Disney. But it helps knowing they make efforts to keep foot traffic moving

Can you access the stores along Main Street?

Yes. It's no different than when they run the parade normally. They keep the sidewalks clear for walking. If you want to watch the parade, you have to be inside the ropes they have set up. Otherwise, it's "keep in moving please". The only difference is they have a big camera thingy set up near the Christmas tree on Main Street. Then if they are doing celebrity performances, they may have a stage set up by the castle and/or Small World. We watched Gwen Stefani in front of the castle in the evening. Crowds were similar to those watching fireworks around the hub area, but CMs kept traffic flowing to go around the castle through either Adventureland or the Fantasyland pathways. When we were there for the Candlelight Processional it was far worse for traffic flow.

The other different thing when they are filming the parade is the parade times might be slightly different than normal to get better lights/timing etc for taping.

I’ve seen Nora Jones perform by IASW for the Christmas Special and ESPN commentators do a football preview show in CA across from LM. They weren’t a hassle and were cool experiences.
