Fill up your water bottles

Yeah, locals do call SF "The City". Actually caused a lot of confusion between my DH (grew up here) and me (moved here) when we talked about where to live. Every time I would say "I want to live in the city" he thought I meant "live in SF" vs. just any urban environment and as opposed to the suburbs.
I'm glad to hear someone else finds "San Fran" annoying. My brother always says that and hasn't picked up yet that he sounds touristy.

ON topic: I will be missing these filtered water sites at WDW this year, I haven't found a similar list and it sounds like the water in Orlando is worse than LA. I'm considering investing in Bobbles because I don't want to buy a case of bottled water like everyone else seems to do.

Yea, water here in Sacramento is gross, but when I go "home" to SF, I can drink it from the tap (although I'm a Pur girl when traveling anywhere else) (BTW, I think maybe only people from other places call it "Cali" not those of us from here . Sort of like people from outside the Bay Area say "Frisco" or, my favorite, "San Fran")

I understand what you are saying. I admit it raised my hackles to see someone from another state stay "Cali water is gross!" like it is all the same. Those of us who have lived in California know we can't be painted with a broad brush like that. I grew up in Davis (near Sacramento) and the water was definitely not good. Then, I moved to San Francisco for 15 years (we bought our first home there!) and the water was great. Then, we moved to the East Bay, and our water is also great. I'll admit when I visit the inlaws in Palos Verdes (in the south bay of Los Angeles) or Anaheim, it isn't as good. But it has never made me sick and it isn't undrinkable. It just tastes a little odd.

I just want people that are reading this thread to know that they can indeed drink the water in Anaheim. And this comes from a very cautious person. I won't even eat the breakfast at Best Wester Park Place Inn due to the fear of it's association with Captain Kidd's. Nothing is worth spoiling a trip to Disneyland for me! I truly get that. But drinking the water is fine. I drink the free water from all the stands and counter service restaurants from Disneyland , and I have never been sick. It really is okay, even if it tastes a bit weird.

I know for a fact that all water that comes out of any faucet (except the ones in labs that are labeled "non-potable") is clean enough to drink, at least in California and very probably nationwide. If I recall correctly (and I may not), FDA regulations require that all this water is filtered enough times to where it's safe to drink. There are even some bottled water companies that literally take water from a government reservoir, bottle it without additional filtering, and sell it, making tons of money off unsuspecting consumers.

That all said, just because water is drinkable, does not mean it tastes great. For example, garden hose water should be safe to drink, but it tastes horrible lol.

Anyways, back on topic, as PP have said, the water fountains around DLR aren't horrible; the water may not taste spectacular, but it's not garden hose terrible. And CS places always offer free water, and it's for that reason that DGF and I stopped bringing water bottles inside altogether.

"Clean 'enough' to drink," what does that even mean? I'm sorry but I'm not counting on the FDA to protect me. Their standards are laughable, at best. You know Foster Farms chickens are fed arsenic and yesterday the FDA decided that's okay. Ummm, what? So the fact that the FDA says so makes me question it more. I wish I remembered the name of the recent study on water that showed all the cities with fecal matter found in tap water (it was frightening to watch) that we watched just before we bought the Pur filter pitcher we now travel with for making coffee. We have one on our faucet at home too, but we can't that with us.

What I know, from experience, is that the water at DLR tastes terrible if you don't put it through a filter. Really, its disgusting. You can taste and smell the chlorine, among other bad tastes. But after a filter, its much better.

"Filtered water spigots are available throughout the park at several locations throughout Disneyland, although I've noticed that in recent years there are fewer and fewer. A filtered water spigot will certainly always available in the kitchen area and main feeding area of the Baby Center on Main Street. The water is refreshing and ice cold! Stop in and say hello. The hostess are happy to let you refill your water bottles!

Other spigots can be found at:

1. ★The Plaza Pavillion restaurant on the west side of Main Street
2. ★The French Market in New Orleans Square
3. ★Rancho del Zocalo in the dining courtyard in Frontierland
4. ★Tomorrowland Terrace to the left of the order windows"

Plaza Pavilion has been closed a long time. The others are still there. I asked for a cup of water at Village Haus last week and was handed a cup of ice and told there were spigots in the dining area, but I couldn't find them.

I always thought the only option in Disney for anything to drink was soda pop from the many vendors there. When my mother took me in August of 1985, it was so hot, around 110F, that we both drank incredible amounts of soda apiece.

In DCA, we always fill our water bottles at First Aid (located right next to the Chamber of Commerce, next to Oswalds Filling Station). And if your water bottle has a wide mouth (very convenient for DLR), the CS places will give you free cups of ice water to pour into your bottle.

We just go with the cup of ice water from the CS restaurants and don't bother hauling a bottle around with us. Mainly because I would wind up being the one doing the hauling everyone's bottles, and I don't care to do that.

My son learned very early in AZ, you go out the door you have hat sunglasses and a bottle of water. Now he will always carry his own. His is also in a holder with a pocket for phone and walet and he needs nothing else.
