I also use allears. I guess which items we'll have and figure out the 18% on that. With buffets, etc. of course it's easy. I've been very successful with TSs this way, also. I would always be able to put some extra in if need be, or take some out.
I usually leave a dollar per person for Mousekeeping. When I stay conceirge level that doubles because I have to leave two envelopes daily.
As far as buffet's go... I can't digest leaving an 18 -20% tip for essentially no service. At buffets we serve OURSELVES. Twenty bucks for bringing me a drink and my check is a bit steep. I'm thinking about leaving 10%. It's more in line with the kind of service I'm receiving. At the full service restaurants, I will leave twenty percent.
For table service meals, could you just have the CM put the tip on a credit card? I'm wondering if that might be easier for me than trying to sort out all of these envelopes! However, is there a benefit to using cash? Thanks!

We have the free dining in December, I have never used it before. Do you not still get a "bill" with what you would have paid so I know how much to tip? Or do I have to figure out the price on my own before I go?
Oh yeah- I always tip when I stay in hotels. But, I don't tip every day, just at the end of my stay. Never thought to do it every day, but I guess different people work different days right?

YensidRocks brings up a good point, an automatic 18% on a buffet just because I'm in a party of 6 or more seems a bit excessive. Does anyone know if the automatic 18% goes on the buffets as well?
I filled all of our Mousekeeping envelopes for our trip in September. We usually leave $4 or $5 per night. There are two of us. I have also made tip envelopes for our meals. I used scrapbooking supplies to make them. I've also included "thank you" cards that I laminated. They are the size of a business card. For our meals that are buffets, I inserted 18% into the envelopes already. For the TS meals that we have I took a look at menus and selected what I "think" we may have and set aside 20% in each envelope. I have not sealed any of them because of course, depending on service, I may add more to them, etc.
I had a lot of fun "scrapbooking" envelopes. I know they won't be saved so I didn't use expensive items to decorate them.
