On our Cindy's PS morning, (8:30am PS) our only option is to take the monorail into MK. We will be off site. We plan to be at TTC by 7:30am. I was told we have to take the resort monorail into MK, since the Express Mono and Ferryboat won't begin running until 8:30am.

Just wondering how the monoraill works for w/c users? My mom uses one.

I'm already having WDW nightmares!! Please calm my nerves!!

THANK YOU!!

Michelle

they are very easy to use. they have a ramp to bridge the gap if you need it, we just tip a little to get accross the gap it's only about 3-4 inches. the CM will put you at the car that will fit a WC.

The hard part is pushing the wheelchair up the ramp to get to the boarding area. Boarding for monorails is up at a second story level and there is not an elevator at the TTC of at MK. The ramp is pretty steep since you are going up that far.
Once you get to the boarding area, I agree with pugdog; it's very easy. The CMs will direct you to the correct car (only a certain car can board a wheelchair) and get you all set for the ride.

I rented an ECV from Walker last week. I took it on the monorail from the Poly tothe MK & back again later. As mentioned there is a ramp to assist you in getting onto the monrail car. there is also a special marked handicapped car on the monorail. The CM asks where you are going & is supposed to call ahead so the stop will be ready to let you off.

If the ramp at the TTC is too much for whomever is pushing I recommend the short walk to the Grand Ceremonial House in the Polynesian. From there you can take the elevator to the 2nd floor and catch the resort monorail.

For your return to the TTC I would use the ferry....easier with a wheelchair I think.

That ramp to the TTC is steep! The person pushing needs to be ready for a workout! Think of taking a flight of stairs and making it a ramp instead, and that's what you have.

Just wanted to say thanks for more great information - I hadn't even thought about the monorail and getting on with ECV, so it's great to know how it's done! :D

I wish every resort on the planet had Disney's monorails...thats how good they are :)
