I ordered dd12 a costume from partyamerica.com. It arrived missing one of the gloves (cat costume - gloves are elbow length with fur and long nails). I've emailed them twice, with no response (no other contact information on their site). I tried to file a complaint online with the BBB, but it requires an address, and I can't find one on the partyamerica.com website. Help! :confused3

Edited to say, I found an area of the BBB that allowed me to enter a website, but that took me to 5 different party america addresses - I guess I'll just pick one?

don't even bother.
the BBB is no more effective than the united nations or ebay customer disputes.
I mean, did you check with the BBB before buying at the online store?

Since you ordered online I assume you used a credit card? Just contact your credit card company and have the charge removed, it's that easy!

I agree with the others. The BBB will log your complaint and they will notify the business that a complaint was logged, but they will not force the business to mail the missing parts. There are a lot of open up/shut down Halloween Costume places both online and bricks and mortar. Since they aren't open very long, they don't often care about Customer Service.

Your best bet is going to be void the CC amount and go buy another costume.

I think the BBB is a huge lie!

Think about it, the ones that get good ratings PAY to be members. The ones who do not fork over the cash has negative reviews.

I know of 2 very peculiar cases that they don't even care about. One lists an owner of a local restaurant incorrectly. The list a guy who cleaned their awnings as the owner. If that restaurant would get sued he would be attached and have to spend money to get off the lawsuit. The BBB said they don’t care.

The second , a store with 6 locations and over 20,000 people on their mailing list (names are customers, not a bought list) has a negative review with 2 complaints! The also list home numbers of one of the owners children and the name of her husband. (which is odd becasue she is not married) Again they don't care!

I think the BBB is ridiculous.

Sorry for your problem and I agree with other posters. Call your CC. In the future look for an address before ordering online or better yet just buy local!

We had a bad experience with a shady contractor. Contacted the BBB, all they could really do was put something on file and mail it to him. Also they offered a sympathetic ear. Not much else. We ended up having to go to court.

On this one, I concur with the PP. Contact your credit card company and void the purchase. Best of luck.

Thanks - I'll call my cc company. I don't like buying costumes online, but she wanted this particular costume, and none of our local places had it.
