I've heard the Mushroom filet is amazing at Le Cellier. I'm not particularly fond of mushrooms, though. Is it really 'mushroomy'? The reason I ask is because I heard the coffee crusted steak there doesn't have a coffee taste to it... so I just thought.... :confused3

I am not a fan of mushrooms either. I ordered mine with no mushrooms, and with cream cheese mashed potatos. It was devine and had no trace of mushrooms.

I don't really like mushrooms, but I didn't mind them with the filet

However I have heard many people say they have either ordered it with the cheesy mash instead, so go for that if you fancy it

I also ordered mine without the mushrooms and the cream cheese mashed potatoes. Anyone ever have the coffee rubbed steak? I was wondering what it tasted like.

Had one last week with no mushrooms and the cream cheese mashed potatoes. It was awesome :thumbsup2

It was the best meal we had on property and that's saying something considering else where we ate.

We just ate there on Sunday and everyone in our party had the filet although my DS15 ordered it with the cream cheese mashed potatoes instead of the risotto. You can have it either with or without the mushrooms even if you get the mashed potatoes.

We all loved our meal but our one complaint was the waiter bringing our dessert menus before we had finished our meal. This kind of "rush" tactic is unacceptable with us especially in a restaurant that charges these prices and is planning to go signature next year.

We simply collected up the dessert menus and refused to look at them until we had all finished our entrees as well as a second order of bread. The server even came back while my DS17 was still finishing his meal and asked if we were ready to order our desserts. I said we would order when we had finished our meals.

I should have tipped a bit less but I'll admit I didn't because I didn't want him to think he was being stiffed by a fellow Canadian.:rotfl2:

I had the fillet twice during my recent trip. It is not very mushroomie. It was the best meal of the week. I also subbed the Cream cheese mashed for the rissoto.

Also @ Lecellier the chocolate on chocolate whiskey cake, which does not taste like whiskey was by far the best dessert of the trip. I had it twice. YUM!!!!

As long as you sub mashed pototoes for risotto you will be fine. The risotto is VERY mushroomie.
