Walked on to Journey Into Imagination last week...again. And noticed that this time, the CM was just waiting for people to show up. So we, and a Grandmother and sleeping child, rode through in two lone attached cars. You could have heard a pin drop in there.

At the exit, there were a few people playing in Imageworks, but most of the CMs inside were just talking to each other. It was sad. We actually like Figment (the old one better) but I don't think that it will be around for too much longer.

Anyone seen it with a line lately?

Epcot was actually pretty busy last Thursday - but certainly not in the Imagination area.

Both times we went on the ride it was pretty quiet too. I suppose the future of the ride depends on the popularity of Figment. My little sister adores him. She's 18 and wanted to go on the ride after she saw the Figment pin because she thought he was cute.

The problem is the new ride sucks - and kids today have no idea who Figment even is - so there is no desire to ride it. I miss the old Imagination ride, it was one of my favorites as a child. Now I have the old theme song in my head! :goodvibes

Well this one is better than the last one. Although the original figment is still the best!!

Oh no ..I love figment (yes, I liked the old one better)
Would hate to see him go! Come to think of it, Last October it was not busy there. (the park was)

This ride always bugged me (that song over and over again). I think with a ride called imagination they would update it more often to keep it creative.

Whatever happens, if replaced, the new ride will be great.

When I took the Undiscovered FW tour our guide took us there for a break because it is never busy in his words.

:rotfl2: I just saw this therad and one little spark is playing on sorcerer radio right now!!

One little spark of inspiration, Is at the heart of all creation. Right at the start of everything that's new, One little spark lights up for you. Oh, hello there. So glad you could come along. I am the Dreamfinder. (laughs) Musical notes! What delightful melodies those will make. I love these flights of fancy. Searching the universe for sounds, colors, ideas--anything that sparks the imagination! A sunbeam!
That's a good one. (laughs) Everything that I collect can inspire amazing and marvelous new ideas. And you never know what kind of figment you may come up with. (laughs) Here's my favorite! Two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow. Horns of a steer, but a loveable fellow. From head to tail, he's royal purple pigment. And there--Voila!--you've got a Figment! A Figment of imagination! (laughs)
Dreamfinder! I'm just great!
Ah-ah-ah! Not quite!
Huh?
I'll throw in a dash of childish delight. (laughs) Look, Figment! Some new friends have joined us.
Can they imagine, too?
Of course! Imagination is something that belongs to all of us.
You mean, everyone can think up new things?
(laughs) That's right, Figment. And every sparkling idea can lead to even more. So many times, we're stumbling in the dark, And then--Eureka!--what a spark!
H-h-how are we going to use lightning?
Hmmm...we can combine it with ghostly shivers on a stormy night. And turn it into a tale of fright!
Oh, oh, look, look! A rainbow! I'll use that to paint with.
Now you've got it.
Wow, wow wow! Numbers, letters, papers for writing. Costumes, make-up, stages for lighting. Teardrops, laughter.
What about science?
Science? We'll need electron beams and crystal prisms. Gyroscopes and magnetisms...
Hold on, Figment.
Why?
The idea bag is full.
It is? Let's start making new things.
Now, wait. First, we must store these ideas with the others in the Dreamport.
Are we almost there?
Oh, the Dreamport is never far away when you use your imagination.
Come on everybody, let's go!
We all have sparks, imaginations. That's how our minds create creations. Right at the start of everything that's new. One little spark lights up for you.
Oh, boy! Imagination, imagination. A dream can be a dream come true, With just that spark in me and you

Oh I hope not we love figment its my DS favourite.

Big Figment fans here. Both my kids while still " in the oven" were "Figment" and "Figment 2" so much easier than "little he or she". And the day each was born my dad( 6'4" and goofy) was wearing his Figment " Not Just Another Pretty Face" tshirt. Cant wait to see Figment this week!@!!

My sister and I used to lyp-sync the song. She made me be Dreamfinder and she got to be Figment, but that was OK b/c I had more lines!
I loved the ride, but I never experienced the second version and I guess I will see the third incarnation when I finally go back to WDW this August.

Your post brings another thought to mind. While I think the Figment Ride in Epcot is a bit lame, perhaps interest could be boosted by making it a fastpass attraction.

The reason I say that is because in the Magic Kingdom the Pooh Ride is a fastpass attraction, and it's not as well done, nor as long a ride as the Figment Ride; but there's usually a long line of people wanting to ride it. I have never understood why Pooh Ride is so popular - there's not that much to it.

Enjoy.

Well, obviously the lack of lines indicates a problem, but rest-assured, this has been the case for a while now and it is still there. Closing JIA is not a priority, or so it would seem.

A rides worth is never measured simply on attendance. Figment is still a seller in the parks. New pins, plushes, you name it, are on the shelf all the time. In that manner, JIA is a success. Can you think of any other current FW attraction that out-sells figment. They've tried to make it better before, there is no reason to believe they won't again.

There have been times that there has been a line and even out the front door. I always point that out to my kids when I drag them on the ride.

My DS (2.5) ADORES Figment. He would be crushed if it ever closed.

The original version is the best. The second "update" was AWFUL! I dont think this version is to bad. The young kids seem to like it.

I wish Disney would market Figment in Epcot more. He is such a fun & lovable character. I never understood why he is so under utilized.

I go into this ride whenever I'm tired and hot and need a break. I can always walk right up to the loading area and sometimes I'm the only one sitting in the ride. The AC cools me down and I'm recharged to keep walking around.

I also miss the original one. It actually lived up to its name.

I think it is slightly annoying but not as annoying as Small World. But either one is great when you are running around the park all day and you just want some a/c and get off your feet.

It's been empty like that since we started going to WDW in 2002. It's never had more than a handful of people on it, and usually it's just us, or maybe one or two others. I love Figment. I wish they would update it and make it longer and more imaginative, but I sure do love it!

We just got back and we could have walked on the ride with fifty of our closest friends. My wife thought it was a horrible ride and won't ever go on it again. She thought the only way people will go on it is by mistake. I have to agree with her. I'd rather ride It's a Small World and that's saying a lot.
