Guido, a dastardly villian, made his appearance on March 17. Like most evil doers he entered stealth style and landed the first one-two-three-four punch right into GrumpyPoppi's gut!!! Lung cancer stage four, large cell.

After reelling to the ground, dazed and confused the Vincent family (Poppi, Grammy, Vic, Kat, Mokid, Marwan, Tay, Will, Aidan, and Layla), picked them selves up, dusted off and landed a one-two punch with chemo, then followed it up with an experimental drug at NIH. Knowing that the force is with them they started other defensive manuveurs like requesting world wide prayer through church, friends, stangers, facebook....all denominations accepted.

Guido hit back with a sneaky attack of steroid induced Diabetes 2. The Vincents helped Poppi by changing their eating habits. NO WHITE BREAD ALLOWED!!! DOWN WITH SUGAR!!! OFF WITH THE CARBS!! The sugar moniter taken twice a day showed that THIS was a battle we were winning!!!!

But what else could we do? WE COULD PLAN A TRIP TO DISNEY!! A victory celebration!!! A HUGE TRIP, A MAGICAL TRIP...Nineteen people and counting..When could we take this trip???? Next JUNE!!!

But we need help. We need help keeping us on target. We need help battling Guido. On May 17, 2011 we get our first report after two rounds of Chemo....are we making progress...will we be able to do this? Our ideal time is June 15 through June 27, however because of school we may have to delay it longer. Right now I am trying to piece together how to make our reservations at SoG. I do not know if Larry will be in chemo or what to expect next June. It has been suggested that I book the maximum of 30 days and pare it down 3 months before our trip to the exact dates. That way I have flexibility on school dates and health issues. Also I am starting to compile a wish list of dinner requests. This will be our youngest grandchildren's first trip and I want to make it special.

We had planned a trip to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg this June as a dry run. However, Larry's chemo has messed the timing of this trip. Since it is paid for and non refundable the kids and grands are going and we will join them for the later half of the trip....we will spend 1 day at BG and then 3 days at the beach. It will be hard because Larry has to be very careful in the sun...... But it should help us prepare for next year at WDW!!!

Great News today!!! The chemo is working!!! Guido is on the skids!!! So I will continue with planning..

Our troop is growing, my brother and his family are joining us, my Dad, my three daughters and their families, my two adoptive granddaughters, and our daughter by affection and her family....

There will be 21 people, 8 rooms, and a minimum of 12 days.... The ages range from 3 years old to 83 years old. I told my Dad he will have to get a motor scooter and join us in the parks to see his great grandchildren in action....Will be starting to make room reservations on June 1....one year ahead...

Well, I booked our rooms for June. I got one suite in the Magnolia section of Shades of Green and 5 additional rooms. So far we have 19 people signed on to go. My dad is not sure if he can make it and one other family is getting deployment to Germany and won't be able to make it

Poppi's chemo was effective so his prognosis went from 6 months to 2 years. Chemo will be over on July 20. At that time his doctors will put him on a cancer vaccination. If that works his prognosis could improve to 5 years. This trip will keep us occupied this year when the going gets tough. ...
