For those of you interested in the DVC resale market:

I just got an e-mail from Fidelity Resale (I am on their DVC resale e-mail list) and it stated the below:

"Fidelity Real Estate will not be charging the $195.00 administrative fee any longer on our Disney purchases!"

Although I did not purchase my resale thru Fidelity, from my several months of resale research, I found that it appeared they had the most number of resale contracts and lowest cost per point prices than any of the other "resalers" (is that a word?) on paper.

The reason that I did not purchase thru them was because I realized all contracts are potentially negotiable, they did not have exactly what I was looking for, and I didn't want to pay their fee.

Now that their fee is gone, I would consider them in the future.

Evan

I didnt see much from them from where I found their site. Is there a website with all their listings?

Maybe I am missing/not seeing it, but they do not seem to mention the UY's for these contracts? That's really frustrating! Maybe it's not important info for some people, but definitely important for me! Not as user-friendly as the other resale listings!

They're website/method for listing DVC is not the best, but as mentioned by adminjedi, if you sign-up for their monthly (weekly?) list, it includes all the details.

Keep in mind that they sell a lot more than just DVC as opposed to the other resalers who just specialize in DVC.

I'll let others chime in as to if they were pleased with fidelity in purchasing their DVC. I just recently went thru Jaki/Kin/Kevin (*********) and had a great experience (easy, painless, quick...).

I also remember reading a post(s) that several of the DVC resalers can access the offerings listed by Fidelity (and visa versa) as well.

I received the same email. Too bad they did not do this 6 months ago when I paid the fee!!!

:) Bill, how was your experience with them??

Was this $195 "administrative fee" an extra fee that the other resellers don't charge, or are we talking about part of the closing costs?

It was an extra fee on top of the closing costs.

I just checked the listings at their website. It's a bit unnerving to see the number of resales, from the standpoint of how long it might take someone to sell. I hate to think of someone in a desperate situation to sell, but so much inventory that they have trouble selling.

I think SSR had around 6-7 pages of listings; others DVC properties were similar, though newer properties like BLT had much fewer listings.

I would say okay but not great. Either Fidelity or the title company they partner with used an incorrect street address when mailing my closing papers. First off they should have emailed the closing documents to me and secondly, one of them should have paid better attention to what I sent them when preparing the closing documents. Had I not purchased through resale before and had a general idea of the process, I might still be waiting on my closing documents! A couple of emails to the salesperson at Fidelity went unanswered when I inquired about the status of the closing so I emailed her boss and things started rolling then. Someone's screw up delayed closing by at least a week.

I found out after the fact that Fidelity multi-lists with a few other resellers. I used Jaki at Resales DVC for my first purchase and could have contacted them about the contract I saw at Fidelity. It would have saved me the $195 admin fee.

BTW, Jaki was great! Jaki called me on a Saturday to let me know I passed ROFR. When I get ready to buy my next contract (I have addonitis again!), I will use Jaki or The Timeshare Store. That's my two cents worth anyhow and that's about all it is worth! :lmao:

I am not at all impressed with their website. Although I did not spend a great deal of time looking, there did not seem to be a comprehensive list of DVC properties. I really like the way The Timeshare Store displays their listings.

They are not as user friendly - you have to get on their email list for the full listings.

I've bought two Fidelity listings. Both through ********. The process with them was painless. My sister attempted to buy a contract directly through Fidelity. She'd gone through the entire process, even sending in her final payment for closing. Then, ( insert crickets chirping here ) she heard nothing, and nothing...and she kept emailing her agent as they now had a large amount of her money...and still nothing.

She finally cancelled the sale and got all of her money back as the closing date on the contract had come and gone and no one had bothered to contact her about the closing details in over a week.

Thanks to everybody for responding to this thread. The Timeshare Store, Inc. has never charged administration fees for a DVC resale buyer.:cool1::banana:

why would i sign up for an annoying email to be sent to me on a day when i am not interested, when i can see the actual current prices on the timeshare stores website on the day when i am interested?
