Well guys its official........ DH passed!!:cool1::cool1::rotfl::rotfl::cool1::cool1:

He is now a Phd candidate so on to the qualifiers and dissertation!

I'm exhasted and completely brain dead. Dr visitis, shopping for cruise, worrying about money for trip that has not come in yet are all really taking a toll on my brain. Cant keep a clear thought in my head:( Not to mention I cant lose weight when stressed so not the 20lbs lighter I had hoped to be for the cruise:(. Anyone else notice that even if you diat when feeling really stressed you still dont lose weight? So much for it all being the calories we intake.

Any way you will either see me alot as I go stir crazy on partia bed rest or not at all as I sleep my way throught the 10 days or so of down time to prep for our trip. We are either leaving memorial day wekend for US and seaworld then cruise or mid week for Seaworld then cruise. I have two hotels booked until we know for sure how much cash we have. Money is there but might not come in in time to go:(. I'm trying to be positive because some things are comming in before I expected :cool1: and are more income to boot:cool1::cool1: but still need late invoice to go to US. Such is the life of a small business owner.

BTW

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY:lovestruc

My dear kids made me breakfast in bed and in no time flat my bouncing DD7 bounded on the bed and spilled my tea:rotfl:

WOOOOOOO! Congratulations! party:

I'm having a bit of a "huh?" moment, since Sunday morning I woke up and my ankle was hurting like crazy. I hadn't twisted it, it felt fine when I went to bed Saturday night, but by the time I woke up it hurt to move it... forward and backward? Up and down? Eh, the way that isn't side to side. Today I wore an ankle brace to work and ended up leaving early because my body decided this was a fabulous time for a flare. I've been on the couch for the past five hours or so, but I was just getting way too bored. Anyway, hopefully I feel better tomorrow, and if my ankle doesn't stop hurting I'll end up making a doctor's appointment. (I hope I don't though. I need to shave and I'm not so sure if I could manage it.)

So yeah, my diet hits a snag again. I'm not spending too much time thinking on it though, no sense in getting grumbly over something I can't change at the moment.

Oh and we finally got another lizard. (The flying gecko we bought from a breeder didn't survive the trip. :() We ended up deciding on a crested gecko since that's what Ferb is and we named him (wait for it...) Phineas. Though we came very close to naming him Major Monogram. :rotfl:

How are you feeling now? Dont you love these weird pains? I have one on the base on my neck on the C1 didnt do anything to it but hurts quite a bit when touched. DH says it looks a bit swollen.. Oh well one more thing to ignore.

Glad you got a new gecko what a cute name;)

Thanks guys for all the congrats. Dont think it has really hit us that its done. DH already picking up alot of the slack as he feared our trip was about to go CRASH if you know what I mean. I've been having a great deal of trouble staying stable. I've stopped making lunches in am as it is to much planning and the early am's are killing me. DH has picked up scouts and managing half the issues with the kids. I forgot just how nice it was to have a teamate when dealing with the kids aguments etc. I was really acting as a single parent even when he was here since he was always at his desk doing something. I had no idea how hard that was until I stopped. Anyway taking a break today got 80 pect of my packing done yesterday:cool1: Rest today then shop for odds and ends tomorrow, thow them in the bags and I will be done! Then my 10 days of downtime (although I do have one field trip to supervise) Still dont know how long we are going for since we are still waiting on checks I have til next wed to cancel so there is time and DH called client and it should be here in time. We will see. A seaworld/cruise vaca is nothing to sneeze at. More than I could have dreamed when I booked two years ago:goodvibes. I would just like to get US off our list of things to do as a family before my oldest turns 18. If we head back to FLA I want it to be for my 20th and a small renewal of vows. In the next 5 years I would like to fit in a cross country trip in a pop up like I did as a kid only see the grand canyon or yellowstone both of which my family did their second trip. I would also like to get to hawii or alaska. SO with two big trips I'm not sure we will make it back down to FL for US if we dont go this time. Our WDW trip for DD dance the magic might be our last trip to WDW too. Although if DH business take off the sky is the limit:thumbsup2

Well blabbered enough. Hope you are all doing well. You will either see me here more as I'm bored out of my mind resting in bed or with feet up or not at all ifI find myself sleeping til the trip comes. Either way I learned my lesson last time. I have to really rest up.

Hey everyone! This is a super long thread so I didn't read all of the posts:rotfl2:

I have been on this board for a while but never knew this thread existed!

I'm 34 and I also have fibromyalgia. It stinks. I hate it.

I was diagnosed when I was 15 and re-diagnosed when I was 23.

I have tried two of the three meds.

Lyrica is the more recent one I have tried and it didn't do much for me. I started taking another one right before Christmas (begins with S, forgot what it was called). It made me very sick so I topped taking it. I also didn't like having to take it twice a day.

I kind of got used to the pain so I really don't know remember what it's like to be pain free.

I guess that's pretty much my general story. Thanks for letting me share :)

Hey everyone,

I am asking that you all send out a prayer or two and a lot of really positive thoughts and healing thoughts for my chloe. She is very sick. She is still fighting her infection and it is affecting her liver. She is still here, but the next little while is critical. I am hoping and praying that she can fight this and return to us being her usual mischeivious self!! She is only 16 months old :sad1:She can still come out of this, she just needs to turn that corner. Please pray for her. Thank you.

Thank you, I should have qualified this with the disclaimer that chloe is my puppy.

Chloe passed away peacefully in her sleep last night. She wasn't home with us - but my vet had taken her home for the night so she wouldn't be alone so I feel thankful and grateful that she was not alone. The vet cuddled her until 3 am and she passed away between 3 am and 5 am.

She was only 16 months and we had her just over a year. She truly made my life beautiful and helped me get outside and I am glad for every moment we had her, she was truly a gift. She is not suffering anymore. paw::angel:

Sorry, I did not mean to not respond to you a few days ago when I saw this, I've just been going through so much here but wanted to say welcome to the boards. This is a great place to come and share and so supportive.

Tigg usually keeps these boards going but she has been at disney so it has been quiet without her around :) I'm sorry that medication has not worked for you, it has helped me tremendously. I take lyrica. I hope you find relief with your fibro and can come here and share. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Stick around, there are a nice bunch of ladies around here... :grouphug:

You will find the folks here wonderful. :love:I totally get what you mean about not remembering a pain free day. Meds dont work for me except vicodne and ativan which I cant take too frequently or they stop working too:sad2: I've had much better results from suppliments and alternative therapys which I've posted about here alot. Sorry its been so quiet. I got a bad leg infection just before my trip, was gone for 10 days:cool1: then unpacking and kids home from school plus a whole bunch of crazyiness I'll get into later kept me from the boards. You'll find depending on week we may be very active or quiet for stretches of time especially when the weather is bad nationwide. I'm willing to bet the weather plays havoc on you too.

So Sorry about your little bundle of Joy. I know how much she ment to you!:grouphug::grouphug:

WIll catch up on my escapades soon. Kids are now home so we will see how much I get my computer;)

Hi everyone :wave2:

We've been back from our 8-night cruise on the Magic for almost 2 weeks now. We had a great time (even though DH's diabetes went haywire and we had to go to the medical department on the ship), it felt so good to be back on that ship. :cloud9:

And miraculously I was able to get around fairly well, all things considered. Even managed to hobble around the Magic Kingdom on our Port Canaveral day. DH and I did stop a lot and did all of the longer, airconditioned attractions, which helped a lot. Gotta love the Hall of Presidents, for more reason than one. lol

Anyway, I know that before the cruise I had posted here and promised to post more the next day. I apologise for not doing that. :(

I didn't have the big crash that I expected, when I got home. I've had days here and there where I feel ok and days with less pain, but mostly I've been sleeping a lot. When I do feel ok, I make myself get up and do things around the house.

I hardly took any pictures on this trip, which is not like me at all, but fortunately DH, DS, and DS's DGF took a ton of pics. I've put many of them on my web site, the link is below if anyone's interested. My DH loves our web site so he asked if I'd work on it soon after we got home, so I did. I worked on it a little here and there and didn't post as many pics as usual, but it's a good sample of the cruise. There aren't any from our day in WDW because I didn't take any pictures that day, and also because I have a million pictures already of the Magic Kingdom. :3dglasses It was enough to drag myself around, never mind worrying about a camera.

I have to add that it was the first time in several years that I *walked* around the Magic Kingdom, as opposed to driving around in a scooter. It really felt good, even though we had to take our time, and take a lot of breaks.

I gained 6 pounds on the cruise but I think it was all water weight because halfway through the cruise my ankles swelled like I've never seen them before and it kind of scared me because I have high blood pressure and take medication, and try to avoid salt. Within being home for a few days my weight gain was gone, and my ankles were back to normal.

I think that I didn't gain weight before I walked and moved much more than I usually do, and that counter balanced the extra calories I had.

Anyway... enough about me.

I hope that all of you are doing as well as possible. :grouphug:

I've been thinking about all of you, especially Tigg since I knew she was also sailing around the same time as me.

I'm not going to make another promise that I might not be able to keep, so I'm going to start from here on the thread, and go forward. :surfweb:

Hello I am newbie. I just found out that I have fibromyalgia. I knew that I had something for years because how bad I felt. But after reading things on the internet I went to my dr and ask him about it. He said I had it. He put me on savella. I have only been on it for a few days now. I am really hoping this med will work. I have some days that I just wish I wouldn't wake up because the pain is so bad. Well I just wanted to say hi.

Welcome Donaldduck!:welcome:

Let us know how the meds go. Many here have tried that med with really individual results. I had such terrible reactions to meds that I stopped being a guinie pig seventeen years ago and got a slice of my life back. Others here have found meds more helpful. If you think your having side effects after calling your Dr please check here often times many of us are lurking but not posting due to pain/brain fog etc but we try to quickly post when somone is is having trouble.

Still waiting post my long crazy post trip report :( to much pain /migraines to post much.

HI everyone.. I have been sooo mia. I'msorry

Congrats to everyone. I am a bit sleepy, but read everything.. I hope your cruises were MAGICAL..

Hello to everyone new.

I've been too far down in a very bad place to even come here, never mind type what is going on. All I know is I have to decide what to do, and the biggest most important decisions are the hardest.

Hugs and love to everyone:grouphug:

Sorry you are feeling so down right now:grouphug: Does this have to do with your Fibro status or just life in general? The DREAM is incredible but alot has been going on and and life in general making me feel incredibly sad. This to shall pass but alot to work out in my head. Keep calm and carry on right?

I take Lyrica and I don't know whether or not it helps because I don't know how much worse I'd feel without out, and I don't have any negative side-effects, so I'm sticking with it for now.

Still waiting post my long crazy post trip report :( to much pain /migraines to post much.

I'm so sorry to hear that things have been so rough. :( I wish you the best in making the decisions that you have to make. Please let us know if we can do anything to help.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the Dream, Tigg. I love the Magic and felt so good and so at-home during our cruise. It's small enough that I was able to navigate it fairly well, and familiar enough that it didn't stress me out at all.

I'm sorry that things in life are making you feel so sad. Sometimes it's so hard to keep our minds on positive things so that we can make good decisions. When we're exhausted and in pain it's so easy to just say "what the heck, whatever". My mother used to say "this too shall pass". Hang in there, Tigg.

As for me, I've been sleeping a LOT the last couple of weeks. My pain levels are down to being fairly manageable, but I'm practically comatose off and on all day and evening. Then at night, sometimes I can sleep ands sometimes I can't.

That's about it, I guess.

Hugs to everyone :grouphug:
