Fibromyalgia Thread

Hope eveyone is well. I have a lot to catch you all up on and am looking forward to being able to get to my computer uninterupted in a week. My brain just can't handle the kids commmotion when I'm trying to form complete idea on my computer :). I really need a laptop. Too painful to sit so long and painful to my brain with kids in/out of room.:( I saw where somone was concerned about heart issues. I too had issues that disappeared after a year. Just as unexpectedly as they came.

Sending pain free vibes and pixie dust to all!!!!

Glad my blackberry worked tonight ;)

I miss all of you too. I haven't posted much cause not much to say here except the beach was beautiful but did too much too fast before I left and hurt myself.

Hips have been acting up since walking, excercising, so am taking a break. Hope I don't get used to it. :rotfl:

Hope you are all well.

I am dreaming of all the disney discounts that are out, wishing I can get back for next year. :laughing:popcorn::

Quick question. What kind of bed do you sleep on and does it help/hurt your fibro? Qvc has an interesting sleep number bed with memory phone. Phenominal sale and still EXPENSIVE even at $1000 off King.

I have an ordinay mid line serta med firm.sized king. Before the king DH slept on the couch a lot :(

I sleep on the couch (at least for the last 8 years). This winter I will be trying to transition back into a bed. We are making a bed on the first floor. Sorry, can't be much of help except my mothers number bed made her worse, she sent it back. Now she is back on a firm.

You just saved me $2000 at least until I can find a way to sleep on one for an hour or so..that's ok don't have $2000 today anyway ;)

I usually lurk here but I wanted to say I got a sleep number bed last week. The first night we got it I fell asleep in like 15 minutes (usually take upwards of 2 hours) and it was the best nights sleep I had in years.
I'm still sleeping so good on it. I wake up with hardly any pain (until I get moving) and I've been sleeping close to 11 hours a night!!
I was lucky if I had 5 before.

That bed is the best thing I could ever had done for myself!!

I wanted to add that in addition to my fibro I have 3 herniated disks in my back that are pinching the nerves. I use to dread going to bed, now I can't wait. and on two occasions now when I've really been hurting I go to bed and it helps so much.

The bed we got was a queen size. It wasn't the top of the line like the one on QVC. It was one of the lowest models actually. We already had a nice pillow topper for our existing bed so we didn't want a bed with one.
I found a 10% off coupon online so with that and taxes it was under $1,000. The shipping was free, got it in 3 days!, and we put it together ourselves which was a breeze.
I would suggest going to a store and checking the different models out.

They also have a 30 day trial so if after the 30 days you don't like it you can return it, just have to pay the shipping charges.

Oh yeah, we also didn't buy their foundation as we already had a good one.

Yes, welcome Phorsenuf, and glad that you like the bed so much. I think buying a bed is such an individual choice. What works for one, may not work for another.

I cannot say for sure anything about the sleep number bed. I have just seen the commercials. :confused3

I however have a very firm mattress which over the years has softened a bit, and everyone tells me I have the most comfiest bed ever. :goodvibes

Well not too many people have slept in my bed, but guests that watch my kitty when I am gone to Disney, know what I mean? That didn't sound good, lol :lmao: Even my DS always wants to trade beds cause he loves mine so much. It is comfy but do not always get the best sleep in it unfortunately.

Hope you are all doing well. :grouphug:

Thanks for the info phorsenuf!!! I guess I will have to try one out at the local mall. Hope the sales people dont mind me hanging out for 3-4hrs to give it a good test run :lmao::lmao::lmao:!

By the way welcome :welcome:. If you've been lurking for awhile then you already know that this is the best group of people. I just celebrated a year posting here and although this summer its been tough to post becuase I crashed and my kids were home, I truely dont know how I managed before I found this group. THANKS GUYS!!! :grouphug: I have had FMS for 16 years and tried online support groups before and they always seemed so negative. Guess the pixie dust we all share here lets us gripe without competing or flaming each other. BTW you may want to check out the post I made back in Nov about the XMRV virus being linked to FMS. I was bummed when I recently checked their website and found they had closed the study and hadnt contacted me but I am really excited to see the research results. It is the first thing I have seen that explains WHY we are sick which gives me great hope for a real treatment or dare I dream cure:upsidedow.

Well you always know when I having a better day because my post get so long:upsidedow Like it says on my tag "if I stop talking you know I'm dead! or at least in a bad flare. Here's hoping the rest of today is better than yesterday. Yesterday was a real bear:headache::headache:

Hi Tig! Could you give me a link or explain what you mean about "why we are sick"? I'd love to know the why. Thanks.
