Fibromyalgia Thread

I have to say that I have been exhausted and way overdoing and have had no energy to post. I also must say that this thread and you "guys" are really a wonderful support :). It is comforting to come to a place where you are not being judged for not getting up and bounding out of bed in the morning or commented on why you are posting on FB at 2AM. Thanks for being here and for understanding. :grouphug:

I hope you are all doing well and having pain free-ness.

Tigg i sent you that website too in case you were wondering who it was from.

I did this for myself to start losing weight because last time I lost weight was when I started eating MORE. MORE healthy food of course. But more often - If I eat six times a day I lose weight as long as I choose good foods. I did not have energy to cook or eat before. Now I am forcing myself to eat even if its a few spoons of yogurt with some granola or a piece of fruit or a boiled egg.

Its just as easy to eat some yogurt as it is chips!!! My potatoe chip addiction has been replaced by huge garlic kosher dill pickles!

So yes eating double the amount of cals I used to and I have lost 13 lbs in three weeks. I can't say my fibro improved or my fatigue but the level of my soreness has decreased and I makse sure I do some sort of light excercise every day even ifits only 15 mns of stretching every day. Some days I am so tired and havent done it, but before I go to bed I feel guilty so I do some.

Tink, don't lie, I won't judge you at all!! YOu are talking to the girl who used to have take out sometimes three times a week cause I was too tired to cook. No judgment here, I get the no energy to eat thing.

I just hope you all feel better. I am getting asuper sore throat again i hope it is just allergies!!

EDuke,

I hope you feel better! Take care and rest up. I have never gotten up and bounded out of bed, If I do it's a beeline to lay on the couch. When I was in school unless I needed groceries, it was a jammie day or weekend!!!

Sometimes I still do that too!! I am back to sleeping only 4 or 5 hours at a time with my sleeping pill! It is a strong dose and have only been on it a few months. It's funny some days I take it, and it takes effect right away. I am cross eyed as I type LOL and other days It does not affect me and am not tired in the least. :confused3

Just feel better soon and take care the best you can! :goodvibes:hug:

:rotfl:

I came here to post something and ask you all a question which for the life of me I cannot remember. I just posted to Eduke and in that short time my memory is blank....must be the sleeping pills taking effect.

Oh well if I remember I will come back and post :rolleyes1

Hope you are all doing well. :goodvibes

Hey Bright, guess it never came back..:lmao: (Just teasing, we all feel that way, you happened to admit it)

So today, I took the step to eliminate some things that have been burdening me mentally. I had to sell my soul, but at least the thoughts of being with the devil won't keep me up at night, since I already assumed that is where I would be...:rotfl2::rotfl2:, but seriously, this should clear my mind a bit so I am hoping to get back on a sleeping pattern.

I am going shopping tonight until I am very tired, and turning off everything early. I have to get up early tomorrow morning to take DH to work and DD to her physical. So that should make it two days in a row to "try" and sleep normal. Not that it is a guaranttee to work, but it is worth the try. I find myself in a huge funk from all this. No more self-wallowing!

Awww, tink, don't be in a huge funk. I am about to sell my soul right along with you. I really hope you feel better, you can pm me if you like.

Ha ha - nope it never came back :confused3 Same as yesterday too! Don't know what the condition is I was referring to. :rolleyes1 Total blonde fibro moment.

I had another moment, and my friend did not even catch on!! I am going to the beach on Sunday for five days. :dance3: I was talking with my friend about doing a grocery shop BEFORE we go on Saturday. I kept saying Yes, that is good because I get my check on the 10th, which is MONDAY!!! I just figured that out now. :rolleyes1

I have groceries I can bring from home till i can do a shop while we are up there but still why did my BRAIN not understand this BEFORE NOW?? I am having some SERIOUS brain malfunctions lately. :headache: Ahhh :upsidedow

So it has now been written and therefore shall be!! Hehe

Hope everyone is doing great. Miss all of you and the conversations. Diane.

Hope everyone is well :goodvibes

Today was a down day, but I really didn't feel well. Well tonight, DH noticed my nose was all stuffy (I am always so worried about the other stuff I didn't notice), and that I have been clearing my throat etc...

I haven't had a cold in ages. Actually I usually never get a "virus" so it is most likely bacterial... So I guess I will call the doctors office on Monday.

So my question of the day: How many people with Fibro also have an auto-immune compromise and do you get Virus's or are you like me and seem to avoid them?

I always was sick if I left the house until purell came out. Now I'm a sanitizing nut but I dosnt get sick.

Sorry for your stress Copy....we had some leagal stuff going on a few years back and it was awful and my DH does work for the courts! I cant imagine the stress if you ar not familure with the system. Eduke you have my sympathy on the driving thing....my DD 11 is already taking about driving and I would just like to forget about it :lmao: Tink what a productive day you had ...what to come to my house for a day or two;)

Sorry I'm not on much the kids dont give me any peace when I'm on the computer. Been intruped twice while writing this and my blackberry lets me see things but balks at post more than a sentece or two long :confused3.. So it may be a few weeks before i'm on much. You are all in my thouhts and I troll when I can to keep up.

Sending pain free vibes:goodvibes and Pixie dust to allpixiedust:

Hi. I just found this awesome thread! I only read the last couple of pages but you all sound so much like me that I was almost in tears. I am in pain almost constantly. Of course I have fibro but I also suffer from scoliosis, anxiety, depression and intestinal probelms. I have not found a doctor who can do anything (or believes I'm in so much) pain. I tried Lyrica and it made me worse. I now occasionally take Ultram for the fibro, celexa for the anxiety and a pill for acid reflux. I was on cymbalta but when I lost my own insurance my husband's wouldn't cover it. I have not worked in 3 years. One reason is it is just hard to get a job now, 2) is that I won't take a job where I can't be sitting down the majority of the time and 3) I haven't been looking as hard as I should because I don't have faith in myself that I can handle the work place. A really hard thing for me is that my friends and family don't understand/believe how I could be in this much pain. I am 37 and weight around 167. I used to weigh 207 three years ago and the weight loss has not helped ease any pain. I feel like I get worse every year and that there's just no help or hope. I'm going to subscribe so I hope we can chat and hopefully get more information from all of you. Thanks, Carrie

Tigg, Thanks so much for the kind words... Legal stuff is definitely not my forte! :-)

Tinker, While my doc refuses to agree that the Fibro has compromised my immune system, I know that it has... Since my diagnosis almost a year ago I have had a sinus infection pretty much the entire time... Doc doesn't seem to see the connection but I know it's there!

Thanks for everyone's thoughts on the anemia & vitamin deficiencies... I actually read that Fibro patients are much more likely to be anemic so that put my mind at ease a bit about what the cause might be.

I feel like this weekend has been the pre-cursor to a flare... Lots of pain & muscle cramps... Last Thursday I got a "Charlie horse" type cramp in my neck of all places! Today is the first day I've been able to turn my head to the left despite taking a muscle relaxant every night... And, yes, I looked like quite the fool at work trying to talk to people on my left by having to turn my whole body around! LOL Anyway, I could use some pixie dust for a pain-free week :-)

Hope everyone else has a pain-free week as well... Sending prayers and pixie dust to all!

Carrie, welcome to the thread, you will love it here! Everyone is so great and it is wonderful to have the support of people who understand what you are going thru. Look forward to talking with you!

i am no longer working, but when i did work i felt so bad all the time with sinuses and a cold like illness. now that i do not work my sinuses do not bother me as much as before. i feel like when i am stressed, such as from working, and being run down all the time i get sinus problems and allergy attacks. i dont know if any one has this prob or not, when i am very tired or stressed or hot, my heart acts up and i get very short of breath. i almost feel as if i am going in and out of a fib or i am skipping beats. eventually as i rest it gets better. dont know if this is fibro related or something else.

I want to thank everyone for the kind welcome. I felt pretty good yesterday and actually got a couple things done. I feel so bad for my husband though because I can't do much housework nor do I have a job. So it's up to him to do most of the housework and he works a full time job. :sad1:
Hope everyone is doing good. C

Hi all!

Tinker, Thanks so much for your advice on the vitamins... The combo definitely seemed to help (in the neck dept at least :-)!). My flares are definitely not at the level of some of the descriptions I have read on here, but they are very real and present and keep me from functioning "normally" for sure.

Today was my off day from work and I was very thankful for it! I was able to rest and even get thru a few projects since I could rest in between :-)

Sorry for my lack of smileys lately... I miss them! But, I've been posting very late at night from my iPhone & for some reason in the e-ticket app I can't post smileys... But still wishing everyone pain-free days filled with pixie dust!!

My heart acts up too. If you read back pages you will find that others have had the same issue. To ease the worry, tell ur doc and have them do a moniter at home for a month. They can see what is going on and having answers will make you feel better even when the palpitations are frequent. My cardiologist also said that it is common in women and increases in frequency of palpitations just before the monthly cycle. Mine was diagnosed as PVCs and "nothing to worry about" made me feel better just knowing that 1. there really was something wierd I was feeling and 2. that there is nothing to worry about them. Mine acts up under the same cicumstances as you describe too. Get it checked, you'll feel better.

Hi to all! Been crazy tired and reading but not posting. The puppy is keeping me exhausted.Welcome to Orange!

Hope everyone is flair free :)
