Fibro friends check in

I wound up sending her after all. She said her legs felt weak but then she was running up and down the stairs. :confused3 Go figure, eh?

So far today I have made apple sauce, apple cobbler and chocolate chip bars. My house smells YUMMY!!

Mmmmmm sounds :cloud9: and I think I read somewhere that apple cobbler prevents bedsores??? :rotfl:

One more day in the upstairs prison then I can be impisoned downstairs :yay: :yay: It's the little things right now ;)

Hope youre up and able to move around a bit by now Shug!

How is everyone feeling today?

I'm very happy I found this thread. I too have fibro. I agree that the cold weather makes mine worse. I have been feeling really bad for weeks now. Everything hurts. It's good to hear that I am not alone.

Hope everyone has a good week-end and you are all feeling better.

welcome Mim!

How is everyone doing today? I overdid it a little yesterday so I am achey but not too bad.

We had big news yesterday! DH got the call that theyre flying him to Denver on the 3rd for an interview. They only fly down the top runner or 2 so theyre pretty serious about him. Wow. Big news!!

HI. I am better than yesterday that is for sure..On antibiotics for a few infections, and it is hard on the stomach. . Yesterday was a bad day, but thankfully today is better.

How are you???

Thinking good thoughts for the interview, and lots of prayers :grouphug:

:welcome: Sorry to hear about your aches and pains, but we do understand  Hoping you have some relief.

On another note, it is supposed to SNOW here today (not staying around, but still) and tomorrow :sad2:

yikes snow. we had a little bit last week but it melted thankfully.

Im ok. Its a big deal for DH so that is good. We have been here 11 years though, thats the longest I have ever lived anywhere in my life. The girls were born here and this is really the only place Cam knows. That will be a little tough we are approaching it as an adventure though. I hope that will work.

We moved so many times when I was growing up that I went to 10 different elementary schools. My kids have been pretty lucky that way, they have friend that they have known their whole lives.

Anyway, Im babbling. Im sitting here in my GBS sweatshirt all bundled up about to delve into my Trunk or Treat responsibilities. Then going out with a girlfriend tonight.

hey,
how is everyone feeling this week? Been quiet lately and I wanted to make sure everyone was dealing ok with cold weather coming on.

Hi all! Dragging my sorry butt in here to say hi. Just got home from a week in Disney with the girls. Had a blast but I waaaaaay overdid it. I pushed to long and too hard but its hard not too. When everyone else is bee-bopping right along you don't want to hold them back. You all know how that goes.
Thankfully I had today off so I ended up staying in bed until 11:30. Don't plan to do much of anything today. I have to go back to work tomorrow (ugh) but this weekend I'm down. Hope nobody needs anything around here. LOL
Cold weather is setting in here too. No snow yet though!!!!
On a happy note my son is coming home from college for the weekend! :yay: :yay:

How are you feeling Phors?

I am finally just coming around after Trunk or Treat. I way overdid it there too and made myself that much more sick with a cold in addition to the fibro. Ugly.

Cold here today I think winter is finally starting to settle in.

I have a question for you.

When I was at Karissa's Neuro Psych dr she asked if anyone in the family had Fibro. I said "I do, why?" She said that they have recently discovered a link between women with fibro having children with learning disabilities.

So does this hold true for any of you?

It really makes me wonder where that link is.

Hey ya'll. Well, my "good" days are over for now. The weather's turned cold and I huuuuurrrttt!!!:sad1: Sorry to drop in and whine but, I know you guys are the only ones who understand.

First things first.....FIND A NEW DOCTOR. You can't expect to get any help from an idiot.

I went through a difficult time getting loved ones to understand how disabling fibro can be. It's difficult to deal with the pain and changes to your lifestyle. I finally decided I would only do what I could comfortably do. I found ever piece of written literature to leave lying around. I think the real eye opener for DH was when I had to rent a scooter on our last visit to Disney.

Weather change is difficult for me too. I went for two years without any relief. I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease. I am doing much better....at least considering how bad it was. I sometimes take meds at night...to get comfortable. I take several herbal meds. I bought a foam matteress...it helps a lot. I take B-12 shots on a regular basis...seems to help with the fatigue.

Fibro stinks but, it least it's not life threatening. I'm not going to let it get the best of me.

:thumbsup2

one more post, you know the WORST part for me?

Somedays I cant stand to be touched. :( I love to be touched and some days it just irritates me so badly or hurts so bad I want to cry. My Ds 13 still walks by and hugs me (Thank God for that!) and I smile and hug him back but somedays it just hurts to be squeezed like that.

I know these days are precious though and he wont want to hug me forever so I manage it. how can you tell a kid not to hug you? :sad1:

If anything were to depress me, that would be it.

 I understand. Sometimes, I feel like my body is one big bruise and it hurts to even be hugged.

I have had hormonal issues for years. All tests came back normal for a long time. I started going through perimenopause at 37. I was told TWICE I was post menopausal.....last year I was told I was starting to go through menopause....I'm 49. I think back and realize my hormonal problems were present when I was having an "episode" or whatever you want to call it...with fibro. I know fibro affects your endocrine system which includes your thyroid, hypothalamus, pituitary and reproductive glands. No wonder we're all messed up.

I have Hashimoto's. We knew my thyroid did not work afer pregnancy, but at some point, my body attacked and ate the darn thing. It atrophied. :confused3

 No one understands.......unless they have walked in our shoes. (I sure do miss my stilettos:rotfl: )

:rotfl2:

I've missed this thread in the past, but I'm glad to have found it. I'd like to join your group.

I'm sorry you are not feeling well. I don't handle the cold very well either. It's dropping into the 20's here. Unfortunately, we don't have any heat since we are adding on to our house and had to take out the gas line. We're using space heaters for now. We hope to have heat next week. It makes me ache. Do you guys get the muscle spasms, too. I have to take Soma at night to not wake up with cramps. In the day, they just hit where ever they feel like. Sometimes, it's even in my face.

Fibro and the auto-immune disease is the reason we finally decided that we really needed to stay on the Disney property. I need to be able to go back and rest or I will pay for it.

I've had one Dr. that told me to cut back on carbs due to the Fibro. It may all be in my head for this one, but I did notice that I feel worse when I go on a sugar kick. Thoughts?
:surfweb:

Welcome mfd25wife and any other new members. I have a combination of autoimmune diseases and I had heard of Hashimotos. The 1st time I heard of it, it took me back to kindergarten. My 1st BF was Jerry Hashimoto. Just thought it ironic. Any of you that have the severe cramps or muscle spasms, have your Dr's checked your Vit D levels? Too many Dr's do not check vit levels until they've treated you for everything under the for a year. Vit D defiecency, B12, folic acid, iron levels can cause a lot of problems. Hope all of you are doing ok. :grouphug:

Am I allowed to post here???

I don't have Fibro... but I have Lupus. There don't seem to be too many other people around the boards with Lupus, and since Fibro and Lupus are related, I thought maybe I could hang out here???? :flower3:
