I welcome your opinions. We will be at the YC in June, and one night my DH and I are going out for an adult dinner without the girls.
My husband loves steak and is allergic to some types of fish. I love fish and can't eat much meat due to an intestinal disorder. We are already going to Coral Reef on this trip. I have checked out the menus. How are the steaks and meat selections at FF ?
Would this satisfy a steak lover?
I have read some mixed reviews about Palio. This would be a good compromise for us. Anyone been there recently?

When I went in December to FF 2 of us had fish dishes and the other 2 had the steak. They both said that the steak was very very good and I think were surprised by how good it was. But as I recall there aren' that many meat options on the FF menu and not so many fish options on the Shulas menu. Why not split the difference and go Italian instead at Palios - I've not been yet and am dying to try it out I've heard really good reviews from my friends who have been.

My DH swears the steak at FF is the best he's ever had anywhere . It's just one of the reasons we keep going back. If that doesn't sound appealing your DH, then I second Palio's - they have a lot of choices both meat and other.

Don't know if it makes a difference but FF can be a bit noisy and bustling, while Palio's has a more quiet and romantic atmosphere, and usually a strolling musician.

Thanks so much for your help-this gives me food for thought:p .

Would really love to hear a rave about Palio-any out there?

The best steak on property is at Shula's. They have lobster and Mahi Mahi. I can't speak for the seafood but the steak is incredilbe.

I would say Shula's, it sounds wonderful.

I've been to bothFF and Palios. I will rave about Palios, its one of my favorites. The food and entertainment are awesome-that place is a must do for us.

The food at Shula's is wonderful. The lobster and crab claws we had there were great, and the steak there is much better than FF.

Went to Palio earlier this year and loved it! Had dinner and also split appetizers with a group - the pizza was awesome! Wish I could remember what else we had. I did post about it in detail here, but looks like the search feature is down. :( The service was outstanding and the food was quite good.

We had an awesome time! ;) Strong possibility we are heading back next Tues. night for dinner with a good friend, so will try to report back after that! :)

The steak at the Flying Fish is the best I've ever had!

Having tried all three, I will have to agree with Eeyore2u and cast my vote for Shula's as the best steak anywhere. They will melt in your hubby's mouth. My DW loved the Mahi-mahi. The portions are enormous so you can share appetizers that are also great!

Enjoy!

Its interesting that there'so concensus! I guess that means all three are good choices from your replies.

Loved the picture!

My husband and I hosted a party at Palio for 30 people the week we were married at WDW. We chose to have a dinner there because we think it is is one of the best restaurants on property, and also very romantic. They also have strolling musicians and intimate booths. Everything at Palio exceeded our epectations...Food, atmosphere and service. We visit Palio every single time we return to WDW.

We ate there last October for my DH's birthday, and it was exceptional. Very intimate compared to so many other WDW high end restaurants.
