Alright guys, sorry if these questions have been asked a million times before! This will be my first time going to Disneyland in November of this year, I've been to WDW and DLRP before but not DLR.

1. How much would a cab from LAX to Fairfield Inn cost?
2. What are the opening hours like for both parks in November?
3. Will it be extremely busy at this time of year?
4. How much are you looking to spend on an average counter service meal?
5. Is Downtown Disney as good as WDW's?
6. We're planning on staying for 7 days (going to book in the coming few days) which includes 2 days for our flights to and from the UK, so is the 5 days in between enough time for the parks?
7. Is there anything which I absolutely shouldn't be missing in Cali outside the parks?

Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions!

3. Will it be extremely busy at this time of year?
When in November are you going? If you come around Thanksgiving, then yes, I think it will be pretty busy. Also there is usually an up tick in crowds the first weekend that the Holiday decorations are up.

4. How much are you looking to spend on an average counter service meal?
Prices range, but I would estimate about $15 per person. You can look at Allears.net's Disneyland menus to get an idea (http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm)

5. Is Downtown Disney as good as WDW's?
It feels much smaller and doesn't seem to have as many things to see/do. There are stores and restaurants, like WDW's DTD, but it's not a place that takes me very long to visit.

6. We're planning on staying for 7 days (going to book in the coming few days) which includes 2 days for our flights to and from the UK, so is the 5 days in between enough time for the parks?
Yes, I think five days is probably enough (unless two of those are Thanksgiving).

Have a good trip!

Hi Sam

Ive been twice from UK and DBF has been 4 times so I can try and answer some questions for you

We used Grayline for transfer from Lax
http://graylineanaheim.com/shuttles.shtml

Also used them for some day trips to other places (Knotts, Sea world )

Check this site for prices and menus

Downtown Disney is much smaller than WDW - more similar to DLP but with more restaurants. There is no lake either.

5 days should be fine (I think you said in your thread yesterday that you are all adults)
We did a week there in Oct 10 but spent 2 days away from the park and almost 5 full days there in Dec 11. (We then had another 5 days in Vegas)

What time does your flight arrive? We went into the parks as soon as we arrived (mid afternoon) even though we'd been up since silly o'clock, had a however many hour flight and an 8 hour time difference which meant it was the middle of the night

Where are you flying from?

Alright guys, sorry if these questions have been asked a million times before! This will be my first time going to Disneyland in November of this year, I've been to WDW and DLRP before but not DLR.

1. How much would a cab from LAX to Fairfield Inn cost?
I have no idea, we drive to DLR
2. What are the opening hours like for both parks in November?
It depends on when you're going, hours will vary based on the time of the month.
3. Will it be extremely busy at this time of year?
Same answer as above
4. How much are you looking to spend on an average counter service meal?
about $15 per person give or take a few dollars
5. Is Downtown Disney as good as WDW's?
never been to WDW but I think DTD in CA is really neat
6. We're planning on staying for 7 days (going to book in the coming few days) which includes 2 days for our flights to and from the UK, so is the 5 days in between enough time for the parks?
5 days should be good
7. Is there anything which I absolutely shouldn't be missing in Cali outside the parks?
depends on your interests, there are other theme parks and zoos around, museums, Hollywood.........

Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions!

My answers are in purple, sorry I couldn't help more! :)

Hey everyone, thanks for all the really helpful information! I would quote you all individually to thanks for your specific parts but I don't want to create a super long post.

The date I'll be going is November 11, 2012 and I'll be leaving November 18, 2012. And I'll be arriving in California around 7pm local time and we'll probably just go to DTD and grab something to eat then bed! Plus we're getting the 6 day ticket so we'll use it for the remaining days.

I have found Hollywood gets seedier and dirtier, so you can probably skip this unless one of your group is a movie fanatic. Some really like Knott's Berry Farm (local theme park) but I have never been. While it's not like DAK, I was really impressed by San Diego Zoo and their separate location - Wild Animal Park. The Wild Animal Park is along the lines of the safari at DAK, but not themed. Of course, you would need a rental car, or to book a transfer to San Diego if you were interested.
