Fever Reducing Pixie Dust Needed

I have had a fever (ranging between 99 and 101.5) since last Tuesday night along with a terrible sore throat. I thought I might have strep so I went to the doctor Wednesday afternoon and he said my throat did not look like strep and he thought it was just a viral infection. He gave me some lidocaine (?) solution to gargle with to help with the throat pain and told me to take Tylenol/ibuprofin for the fever/pain.

Well it is Sunday night and my throat is starting to feel better but the *%#$ fever is still with me. No matter what I do it never goes below 99 (I typically run in the mid-97's when I am not sick so a 99 fever is about 1.5 degrees higher than my normal - side question why does everyone consider 98.6 to be normal? When I am at 98.6 I don't feel very good). It is very exhausting to have a fever for 5-6 days in a row.

I have not been to work since Tuesday and I HAVE to go back tomorrow. I also would like to play with DS again. Since I have had a fever I am afraid that I am infectious and I have not been around him much and I miss him so much. I am so afraid he is going to get sick from me so while I may be in the same room with him I don't snuggle with him, feed him and love on him like normal.

I would really, really, really appreciate it if anyone could send my some fever-reducing pixie dust because nothing else is working.

Hope you feel better soon, Becka! I wouldn't worry too much about the fever, most doctors don't consider 99 a fever (and I'm like you, my "normal" temp is around 97.1). Sounds like your body just need the rest to fight off whatever you have, and hopefully it will run its course soon so you can play with the adorable baby boy of yours.

Becka can I grab some of your dust for my 11yodd??? She has had a fever since Thurs. It also has been running at 99 or 100 but now as I sit here at close to 3am, she woke me up as she couldn't sleep. Her fever has now reached 103.

Anyway her first band concert (ever) is tommorrow with her Sax and waaaah....she is not going to be able to do it
